• Happy Independence Day!!!

Central Buckeye Conference (CBC) 2023

I will add one thing I told you in PM....
I believe the Bell/London game will come down to Bell's QB's legs. Not so much on called runs, but on scrambles. We all know he has a top notch arm, one of the best I have seen over the years, and a solid core of WR and a great RB, but in the biggest game of the year and career and to accomplish an upset your best have to be your best and often times that means doing above and beyond.

TSC will likely get pressured and has averaged less than 30 yards a game rushing. I believe a key to victory is some backbreaking runs on pass plays. If you do that a few times that front 7 gets tired, opposing team likely backs off on the blitzing a little bit.

QB>70 yards rushing = Bell win.
That sir, I will agree. He is not the "runner" but he does have the ability. He is an athlete foremost and if he can extend plays and positive yardage, Belle can be a force with their offense. Fogan will have to step up beyond his 12 yards in the first meeting. Total 120 yards for Belle in the first meeting, Then again, the Chefs need to control that 424 yards London had. There is more to this game than just TSC and Fogan. If this becomes a shoot out I have to take the Chefs and TSC...funny the kid as been recognized as this in a CBC thread, lol. I will take the Chefs but if a grind em out game and keeping TSC and company on the sideline, the Red Raiders will dominitate as in week 6

I dig Thavoice, no haters, just love and I am honored to get PMs from him. The dude is Yappi known; good, bad, indifferent not matter he is top notch! He tells it as it is.

#7 Bellefontaine @ #2 London - I think this game will be a lot better matchup than week 6. Of course London will try to control the clock but I believe TSC and crew will make the most of every possession. I’m going out on a limb but I’ll take the Chiefs in a close one. Bellefontaine 35 London 32

#15 Urbana @ #7 Springfield Shawnee -
Yes the U played in the big boy division but Shawnee actually hung around with the heavy weights of the Kenton Trail. I think Shawnee will just be too much. Shawnee 42 Urbana 21
😂😂

Anyone know if the Bellefontaine/London game is live streamed anywhere? Or is that done since it is playoff time. Only on Spectrum or whatever

After watching the first meeting and how dominate the London line was I just don’t see how Bellefontaine can change that? It might be a little closer but not that much but it’s football so anything can happen 🤷‍♂️
Sounds like the Chiefs should not even make the trip and save the money.

That lost has been festering and look for them to come.out like dogs trapped in a corner.

Still believe it's a coin flip game, and for SS to take out the U.gping away.

Tomorrow night will be a beautiful night for playoff football. Get out to the games!
Going to the London v. Bellefontaine game. Never been to London. I've heard it is a pretty nice facility.

In regards to the game, I think London rolls with the dominant run game. I think Bellefontaine will score more than the first game but it will be hard to get in a rhythm. London will ground and pound and hold onto the ball. Can Bellefontaine outscore London and get a couple score lead in 2nd half?

Go Braves!
Should be a good one. Shut down Donahoe, they Braves name the score. Shawnee have given up 88 points this year, HOLY SHIZZ, while the U has averaged (albeit weaker earlier competition) 41 points per game . This game can go two ways with Urbana winning in a tight one where the scoring may set a state record for a playoff game or the Braves clock them in the third quarter.

LELL, I am pulling for your Braves but good luck to both teams tonight....Thank God, football weather is here!

This is the good ole tale of Offense vs Defense. What is the saying ... Offense wins games, Defense wins championships. As you mentioned, Donahoe is the key to it all. The U has some good receivers. Looked at the roster early in the season and they averaged like 6'3 out there. Donahoe is, in my opinion, the most underrated player in the CBC ... maybe more. He seems to take over games by himself. I saw a few clips of him vs North Union ... GOODNESS!

The other thing with this game, no one has mentioned, the U is coming into this with some serious "hatred" for Shawnee after the conference re-alignment that Shawnee made happen. Add fuel to the fire. That may be enough for them to step up their game.

Good luck to everyone, hope to see the U with the win though.

Oh yeah, I am tracking what you are saying. tU has some tall receivers, Bradshaw, Teepe and Davis, quality receivers but I cannot see Shawnee sitting back and not challenging these kids off the line...they can struggle getting off the line with a man coverage. My biggest issue with the Climbers, they have no RB to relieve the load from Donahoe. The Braves, in their own right look to be a one dimensional offense but that is smoke in mirrors as they do have an efficient passing game and outside of Meeks a couple of runners that can do damage. As it was stated to me the Braves defense is on another plane and have athletes all over the field that bring the boom.

In the past I have seen these two teams slug it out from the Rutan and Stokes eras to later contests, regardless of division these teams get it on and have a mutual dislike. One thing is for sure, if the hatred tU has is based on the divisional play, that is the wrong focus. The Braves have taken their lumps in the KT and if the Climbers feel cheated because they are in big boy football, that will be a problem for them tonight.

There was a time you could throw a blanket over Bellefontaine, Shawnee, Tecumseh and Urbana for a CBC title? Now tU may be offended by bumping up to where they should be is BS. Bottom line, two quality teams slugging it out tonight to represent the CBC in the regional semis against Taft or Wyoming and both have a legit shot at the regional championship.

Good luck to both and represent the CBC next week.

I didn’t say that I just gave an opinion!! 🤷‍♂️

LOL, in not so many words, you kind of did :ROFLMAO:  . Hope for and should be a good game second time around. TSC will have to be lights out with both his feet and passing....a little Fogan rushing beyond 12 yards would be a great help. The mystery is the Belle offensive line....do they show up or leave it to the skilled kids to make the game? The defense will win this game, the book is still checked out with the Chefs, but holy shizz, Belle will need more than 120 yards total offense to even have a shot. That gentleman, is on the backs of the fatties.

Closer game tonight and looking for a Belle upset but the Red Raiders are the second best team in Region 11.

i like the QB from “the U” and they have some nice athletes. Coach Cotner has done an unbelievable job turning that thing around. if you told someone in Urbana 3 years ago that they had 2 straight years advancing in the playoffs, they would look at you crazy. those boys will always remember upsetting a 2 seed as a #15 seed.

however, the buck stops tonight. Shawnee is too well coached come playoff time and i think they will do what they want tonight. too good in all phases of the game. predicting a 3 score victory for Meeks and co.

i predict that next week will be vs Wyoming in Monroe.

Absolutely tU has turned it around and great job by Coach Cotner. Next year may be a different story but I am an pessimist, lol.

Monroe sounds good but after watching Wyoming's film and the snippets of Taft, I gotta say, Taft may have the upper hand. I will not go against you :ROFLMAO:. IMO, Shawnee can beat either team, tU may struggle more with Taft than WY...toss up.

Taft vs Wyoming should be a great game tonight.. two GREAT defenses going at it. seems like a 14-7 type of game. either would be a great game vs Shawnee next week.

Redemption week one play no one has forgot about

What a football game and what an atmosphere! They werent lying about Londons stadium. Awesome. Bellefontaine looked like a totally different team. Their offense had trouble getting first downs the first game. Tonight… crazy play making by those skill guys. The Oline took it to London. While Bellefontaines defense looked much better, London was still a force. Such an impressive system to watch. Turnovers were the killer tonight. Oh and its nice to have St Clair on team…he is the real deal. Wow
