Springfield actually went after Broering from Northmont first since he already had ties to the city and Him and the AD are really good friends. Broering turned it down for a few reasons. Then Springfield went after Douglass once they couldn’t get Broering.

Does Broering still have the ponytail? He left town with a bad taste in his mouth,he had a principal at South that seemed to hate him as much as he hated her. When they bumped heads she won.

Yes he still has a ponytail. And you’re correct! She hated that man. And he equally hated her. She really wasn’t a fan of athletes. She could of cared less about any of them.

I admit SHS overlooked Wayne. And why wouldnt they given how Wayne has done this season before last night. But don't worry. It won't happen again as history is on our side. In the past 4 years, losses like this lit the fuse for big final 4 regional championship playoff runs including 3 straight trips to Canton, now havent they??

i heard about his conflict with the woman principal. What was that all about? He was a very nice, well liked guy as a teacher when I attended SHS. He was still that way when I ran into him a couple times years later. No one had anything bad to say about him.
 
All 4 GWOC games had a running clock..... was that the first time that happened?

Wayne/Springfield summary. Not much to say other than a total beatdown.

Game Stats:

Total Yards: Wayne 479 Springfield 231
passing: Wayne 389 Springfield 176
rushing: Wayne 90 Springfield 55
turnovers: Wayne 1 Springfield 2
penalties: Wayne 7 for 79 yards Springfield 2 for 5

Lewis was 19 for 28 for 389 yards and 5 TD's. His main target was Hunter who had 7 catches 151 yards and 3 TD's, Brown had 6 catches for 146 yards and 2 TD's. Smith 3 catches 47 yards, Miesse 2 catches 41 yards. Thompson had 50 yards rushing for 14 carries.

Wayne was up 36-0 late in the 4th and driving deep in Springfield territory but a fumble got the CATS the ball. A hail mary like pass was caught for their lone score.

Maybe Springfield can get Broering to come fix their offense after he gets crap canned at Northmont this year.

Not sure if this is still the case, but at least as of a few years ago I thought he still lived in town. Bring him home.

I can tell you this ,he was popular as a teacher with the students. But the administration and the faculty opinion of his teaching job was real low. It was not just the principal it was considered a fact that if you showed up in his class you passed. He was a nice guy but he teaching job was low on his list of priorities. That was the source of much of his trouble.
 
Springfield @ Beavercreek: CATS get back to business..... running clock in this one.

Northmont @ Centerville: ELKS win easy.

Springboro @ Fairmont: This one is interesting. Both teams can play light out defense and now that the BIRDS can throw the ball it could keep Boro off balance. This one is a toss up but I'm taking Boro.

Miamisburg @ Wayne: No contest.... Wayne running clock.

Honestly nobody really knows. From what was said way back when the board started to target South High coaches because the talks of becoming one school was starting to surface. So they Didn’t want a South coach being the Head Coach for Football or Basketball. So they hired Robinson(Former North Coach) then hired South JV Basketball Coach. So who who really knows what really happened

Naw Broering is a DC first. He never really was the offensive coordinator mind Now when he is the DC his defense be lights out.

Yea but these ain’t those kids. These kids are riding the wave of the past teams. Gotta think these seniors been to state 3 times but only a hand full actually played. And the underclassman talent was loaded. It’s not like that now.
