GWOC 2024

Watch the video. 47:15. You make the call. From my (admittedly biased) POV the ball never reached the endzone, and the official who made the call was on the other side of the field, how could he possibly see the ball cross the plane from his vantage point.

Then there's this photo, which doesn't show the line, but clearly the ball was out, and it was recovered at the two. Just doesn't feel like he got there.

Regardless, Cats had Birds facing a 1st and 25 from the 50 and Fairmont got in position to win. Tough loss to take.

Weird how the refs always make the worst calls when SHS loses. They drove what 80 yards to score? And like you said were at one point 1st and 25? That’s more on the defense and coordinator than the refs. It’s not like fairmont was going to be airing it out. I think they threw two passes in that sequence. Ran the rest of the time.

Heard the ELKS had 86 yards in penalties last night and still managed to win.
Most if not all of the 85 yards in penalties were in first half. Those killed a couple of drives. It's tough when you get two of those on one play such as the hurdling penalty and then unsportsmanlike conduct for arguing that. The Elks played a good second half.

I cannot believe Broering ran the program into the ground this hard...it it was fitting that he got beat last night by the guy he stole the job from! Only in this money grabbing playoff system would the Bolts make it at all...

Region 2 big games in Week 10
Wayne vs Centerville
Westland vs Big Walnut
Hillard Davidson vs Upper Arlington
Could be alot of movement in seeding

How much did Fairmont beat Wayne by?
😂What? So you can’t beat Fairmont but you’ll join their bandwagon for their victory over Wayne. Wow! You really didn’t have much credibility to begin with but switching to a different team just to experience a win over Wayne is really sad. They kicked our butts. I’m looking forward to a rematch if things work out.

Agree don’t blame the refs when you had plenty of opportunities to make stops get the ball and end the game. Bottom line is Cats didn’t do enough to win on that night.

We don’t want him. For what it’s worth I think the rematch may be different too.

I didnt switch to anything. I just don't see where you have room to talk where Fairmont is concerned. And, I have lots of memory of SHS beating Wayne. The playoff win at your place less than a year ago is still a very fresh and heartwarming memory that brings a smile to my face. Btw, SHS will be hosting a playoff game. Lemme know where you end up ...

I don't know, haven't been able to follow much this year. Wayne has been a thorn in the side of the ELKS for sometime now. Both teams seem a bit down this year. Hopefully, it's a good game.
Since Elks lost to SHS, they seem reinvigorated. Your qb has redeemed himself from his performance vs SHS. Theyve come up since then.

My comment was about the Wayne/Springfield game which you quoted. Check the date on that post.

Could be some movement for many GWOC teams in playoff positions with this Friday's game. d According to Eitel some teams could drop or rise like 3 spots. Centerville seems to be in a good spot they win could be number 1. Lose and depending on other outcomes they may be able to jump to number 2.

win or lose Friday Wayne will be hosting.....

Congrats to the firebirds. Last year there was some guy on her rambling about how bad the triple was and how it can't take you to the next level and how bad Miller is etc... I wonder if he is still on here?
I would say four things are different with this year's Firebirds team compared to any other Miller coached team.

1. A lot more speed than past teams. This team as a whole is much faster than other teams. Something you need to compete against Centerville., Wayne, and Springfield in the GWOC. I used to ask my kids "is he fast or just Fairmont fast."

2. Actual drop back pass plays. In the past when they would pass, 9/10 times it would be a trick halfback pass play or a toss back to the QB for a pass. The reason for the trick plays was he never had the o-line learn how to pass block they do that now. This to me was my biggest complaint you can run the triple all you want but until you have a legit passing game the defense will just crowd the front. I'm not talking passing a ton but enough to keep the defense honest. In the past there was no threat to pass.

3. He is trusting underclassmen in key positions. the the RBs played as freshmen and are now sophomores that one year helped tremendously. The QB started as a sophomore I don't think he has ever started a Sophomore at QB.

4. Three headed monster in the backfield. Before he would rely on one kid to run the ball over and over. look at the Baker kid a couple years ago. This year he has three kids in the top ten in rushing. Not one kid taking a beating who by the end of the year is barely hanging on. This is usually evident in the playoffs with no more than one playoff win in a season.

I guess that could be true but they only threw the ball a total of 33 times in 9 games so I am not sure that qualifies? They ydon't drop back at all. It is all play action.

Look at the yards from passing this year compared to other years. This year they are not just throwing it horizontally to someone standing at the line of scrimmage. I don’t think they have thrown passes longer than 20 yards since millers son was qb and they had the hall kid at receiver. That kid could could go up and catch almost anything.

The Boro win was decent, but the 3 previous wins against Creek, Burg, and Northmont were against the 3 worst teams in the league, and 3 of the worst GWOC teams I’ve seen in the last 15 years. I think Wayne wins by at least 17.

Elks are on a roll. I'll take them in a high scoring thriller.

I’m not going to lie…Springfield got robbed last week. That was probably hands down thee worst call I’ve ever seen. That was a clear fumble recovered by Springfield. Hopefully they meet in the playoffs.
