GWOC 2024

I’m not going to lie…Springfield got robbed last week. That was probably hands down thee worst call I’ve ever seen. That was a clear fumble recovered by Springfield. Hopefully they meet in the playoffs.
Letting a team drive 80 yards and get in the position to score was the problem. They gave the ref the ability to have a say in the outcome. The ref’s call is just the excuse. Last year it was the refs at fairmont not calling penalties, the year before it was a lucky punt that died inside the 5. However when you win it’s the team never luck or the refs.

Springfield @ Northmont: The question here is not who is going to win but if Northmont in any way shape or form keep the game close.

Wayne @ Centerville: Is there a thread on this one.... I dunno. This rivalry has lost a lot of steam lately. Probably can thank Springfield for that. Wayne has the top offense in the league and it isn't even close. #1 in passing, #2 in rushing. Elks struggle defending the pass. Wayne's defense is shaky at best but the last 3 games have only given up 6 points a game. Elks will score 28 but can they keep Wayne under 28 points? Nope.... Wayne wins going away in a high scoring game.

Beavercreek @ Fairmont: Birds big in this one.... game over by 8:45

Springboro @ Miamisburg: This one could get interesting but Boro's defense just too tough. Springboro wins by 3 scores

Absolutely. He lacked control of the ball. But, I really don't care much about regular season anymore. To me, it's like NFL pre-season games. Springfield will step it up for the playoffs as they have the past 5 years. Looking forward to seeing how all the GWOC teams do in the playoffs.

Interesting season! Didn't see that coming where Centerville and Fairmont would share the league title.
Good luck to everyone in the playoffs.

Looks like Beavercreek at Centerville is the only GWOC rematch next week.
All other GWOC games -
Northmont at Lebanon
Middletown at Wayne
Dublin Jerome at Springboro
Hilliard Bradley at Springfield
Central Crossing at Fairmont

I said fairmont had a chance to run the table after they beat Wayne. The only team that was left on their schedule that gives them trouble consistently was Northmont. Good for the kids and the staff. Especially winning the last game without their starting qb some kids and coaches don’t know how to handle that adversity.

Elks win 38-14.
Did not expect this. Vamos had me believing Wayne would go undefeated to the Regional Finals. I will be interested in his take on the game. I heard a kid got rejected for fighting

Hard to tell how good any GWOC team is this year. Went to Springboro game last night and couldn't believe they won by only a TD.

Congrats to Centerville on the GWOC championship. The ELKS played a great SMART game and deserved the win. They were the team that wanted it and they got it. #5 for Centerville was a gamer and the difference maker.

Now for Wayne. How pathetic that was. They looked like they had already won by just walking onto the field. They were not in any shape or form prepared for this game. Dropped passes. This had not been a problem this season. The only time I saw a drop pass was last week when it happened twice against Beavercreek. Last night.... 6 to 7 dropped passes. 2 of them would of been touchdowns. 2 others would of been huge gains. 1 other would of kept the drive going. The other two were just short passes that were just dropped. QB was also off. Seemed to be focused on just 1 receiver while #8 and #7 were open at times and never looked at it. Elks did get good pressure at times but other times just never looked.

Only Wayne and this coach can you have a first and goal and end up punting. Wayne has a great kicker.... kick the darn FG but instead with the starting QB out of the game they try and go for it on 4th and goal and get pre-snap penalties over and over again. During a Centerville punt the return guys and just chilling on the side line and have to run onto the field as the ball is being kicked. 30 coaches yet nobody making sure who needs to be on the field.

3rd and short and Wayne throws a 50 yard bomb. RUN the damn ball with the top back in the league and get the first down. Instead, punt gets blocked. I'm not going to single out any players and but there was one player who I would of sent to the bench and he would of stayed there for the rest of the game and likely the whole game next week. Just flat out gave up on a play and just stood there......

What was with the on-side kick. The kicker kicks the ball and half the team is still standing at the 40 yard line?

Something happened this last week during practice.... something had to have because there was no emotions or anything on the Wayne sideline. Offense was not cheering on the defense or visa versa like we have seen in previous years. This team that has more talent than just about all of the teams in SWO Ohio could only muster a 5-5 record. The cupboard is pretty bare after this season so it looks to be a quick spiral down hill for this program that has been destroyed by the current coach. Wayne is done.... stick a fork in them......

Thanks to a trick play in the last seconds of the game that gave Big Walnut a win over Galloway Westland. Centerville is set up right to cake walk into the regional finals. Meanwhile, where it would of actually benefited Wayne to lose... this result completely changes things and it will be a tough road ahead. Maybe this loss will wake this team up and maybe they can rise like the Phoenix and go on a run despite inept coaching..... I was pretty confident before but now that has faded. Not sure if Middletown can challenge Wayne but drop passes, bad snaps, and turnovers are an equalizer. These two teams did scrimmage this season so they are familiar with each other.......

Best of luck to the GWOC teams in the post season and Lets root on Beavercreek to get a week 11 win!!!!!!

Actually, look for Middletown to be the dark horse with 1st and 2d round upset wins.

Where’s the love for the first fairmont GWOC title? I know how it is people hate to see the new kid on the block start to dominate. If it’s not centerville or wayne no one wants to admit another school is better They should be ranked at least 2 in the AP. Poll but didn’t even get a vote. I’ve been saying it all season coach miller has this team primed and ready. Now the playoffs are here and that’s what Miller focuses on. This team will start to really click now he just uses the regular season to get ready for the playoffs so it doesn’t really matter how good they did. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😉

Wayne's QB was as throwing off his back leg the whole game. He under threw several deep passes where the db was beat several times a long with the drop passes and they never established the run. The play calling was terrible as usual with this coaching staff. The D has problems with stopping the run

Yea i get all that but that was a terrible call. I don’t care what anybody says. I don’t care if they drove the ball 99 yards. A fumble is a fumble. Even the news couldn’t believe it. But it’s playoff time now.

My playoff picks are Middletown upsetting Wayne and Fairmont. Otherwise, the seeds will hold up. Then, in regional semis, Springfield over Middletown, Galloway Westland over Centerville. Springfield over Galloway Westland in 4 OTs...

That sounds like an ad problem he hired the refs didn’t he?

I guess 🤷🏽‍♂️. Word is the ref that made the call for the TD is the same ref that always make the bad calls against Springfield when they play Fairmont.
Yet Springfield still had him call the game. Funny how one guy always calls it the fairmont way, never some bad play calls, missed assignments or just plain getting beat. I mean if it is true it is all on film Moe and the AD needs to stand up for their guys and call this out. Go to the gwoc or the OHSAA. Surely they can prove the bias.
