D7 Region 27 2024

Man, that wasn’t even a ‘B’ game by Danville.

Come on, man. PND has gone to complete ashes.

And here’s the thing: I hate it for their kids.

PND should never have gotten into the mess it did with toxic parents running out the only coach who knew how to make a competent and respectable football team there in the last 25 years. Ashley actually had a program. He got railroaded, and in comes that.

Football’s hard. It’s supposed to be that way. ND isn’t built for that offense. Really none of “them” (read between the lines) are. The only way to get to respectability and having an honorable final game is to get detailed, play fundamental, embrace toughness from start to finish, emphasize defense and bring effort start to finish.

That’s really how Danville hung 60, truth be told: effort every single play. All thirteen or so that there were on offense, that is. Effort every single play on defense. I can’t believe that game whatsoever. For as many great games with great defenses I’ve seen in my time, I’ve seen both an equal amount of bad along with set of equally bad performances. That one was without question the worst defensive display I’ve ever seen. Period.

PND went from a generally top-half program in Scioto County, in fact a very admirable an honorable one in many regards, to a complete mess due to short-sighted decision making. I hate it for the kids. They can’t figure it out themselves. This is a direct byproduct of messy politics, poor decisions that brought ND to its current state of football across the board. Unreal!

I can promise you this one won’t be privated!
Wrong!

I'll don't get it and probably never will. Especially when there are 2 streams of the game lol
It’s honestly a disservice to Total Media. It’s something that anyone can come back to and watch. I mean for crying out loud the one handed catch itself is worth watching the video. But instead you have to watch someone else bring in the views for the same game as they private their own. Also has to be a reason as they’ve done it for EVERY single game.

Like I've said before, their other streams stay up only the eastern streams come down. That's not by accident

This got touched on earlier in the year on a weekly thread, but I didn’t chime in deeper on the matter, so since you brought it up…

It’s not good business. When you have an outlet, outside of a situation like OH.Report where the owner from what I understand frankly just has a ton of operating capital from the beginning, you have to generate revenue in order to break even. You do it by selling Ad spots via packages.

“Well I thought these guys aren’t in it to turn a profit” some may ask — that’s not the point. These playoff games cost $$$ to broadcast. I suppose to a general extent there’s also the holistic cost of getting crews to games over the regular season, especially at that volume done by TMS.

When these videos go private, that means firms are getting less exposure than what they paid for in the Ad deal ultimately. I don’t get it. Not to get into the weeds, but I can think of some places that would probably just refuse to do the games for a given school or two if they’re told “yeah we want this private/delisted after the fact.”

One of the total media broadcasters is a parent to an eastern player. Taking down the stream is not my favorite thing.

My school is out, so I’ll be attending Eastern’s game next week.

Barring some unforeseen circumstances, looks like Danville gets to play Miller.

Congrats, @danville96 -- a new team to play!

First MSL-Cardinal win in the Round of 32 since 2006. Congrats to the Falcons, as they've come a long way in recent years.

We thinkin... White Field for this?

Could be. My hunch is Sheridan.

I guess we will see next Friday night who's "MPT" is bigger, so to speak . 😜

Has Danville ever played at Sheridan?

Sheridan would portend to be a nightmare for this one. Although, I can just imagine the camaraderie to be had with Falcons and Blue Devils jockeying for parking along Sheridan Road.

What I'll say about that game is... I don't know, man. Eastern may be the one team in this region who can figure out how to tackle a Blue Devil.

P.S. Perry County is a Catholic county. We don't take kindly to you northerners. ;)
