Region 27's most hated guest caller
Danville by a running clock.Ironically, if Danville and Miller both win. Danville will play a team who's motto this year is "MPT"

Oh!
Well, I get it. It's worth trying to craft an identity, one to hang the hat on. In a league that frankly basically has transitioned into finesse across the board (argh), I get it.
That said, Danville's an absolute train of physicality (and that's with me having yet to watch them this year.) It should've been enough to win the dang game in New Philly a few years back.
Honestly believe SG wins this 2nd go around.
If the eastern - danville regional final happens as predicted, it might be at Fulton Field
oh boy! I'm sure everyone will enjoy how the Gales run that!

It's actually a pretty neat place to watch playoff football, tbh. It's not Woody Hayes Quaker Stadium at Tuscarora Park cool (but nowhere in this state as a neutral site is that cool), and yeah they're gonna nickel-and-dime you lol, but at least the concessions can be good on top of the sightlines.oh boy! I'm sure everyone will enjoy how the Gales run that!
"Pay $5 to park on the public road, please."
Better than the 97-0 drubbing CV took from NCT in early 2000's....y'know...
I don't really buy the comparison of schedules thing on CV/Trimble (hmmm, I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere btw) -- like I get the idea they're trying to get across, I follow the logic, but in this situation I don't think it's easily transferrable. One example would be, would CV (for that matter Eastern) beat Wellston? I'm also not sure CV has beaten anyone that Trimble wouldn't.
I think Malvern's a fine loss to take.
50-0 loss to Newcomerstown -- isn't NCT a ground-n-pound team? If so, how's that going to be any more formidable a comparison to CV beating Trimble?
Toronto -- yeah, what's understood doesn't need to be explained. 68(!)

The Miller / SCC game -- thought popped into my head. Miller hasn't played a Saturday game since '22.

No use telling BRP that Canada team plays commie football up northGoing to need a bigger jar
Last spring when Fairfield Christian bailed on us week 3 for this season. Bellaire was contacted about playing (before they picked up the Canadian team). Heard nothing back. Oh what fun it could have been.....
That is surprising. Would have been a good game. It used to be that nobody was willing to play Bellaire, especially smaller schools. They were that good… they had to reach out and play teams like Brentwood PA, D.C. Roosevelt and Sir Winfred Laurier in the early 2000’s. Nobody wanted the smoke.Going to need a bigger jar

Not to be anti-Bellaire, but just a couple thoughts…Now everyone wants to play them. I think they should be more selective. They are no longer in a position to take on all challengers. Barnesville, Shadyside and Wheeling Central all jumped at the chance to play them when their program went downhill. I wouldn’t have given them the satisfaction.
Not sure if Bellaire didn’t like the 2 hour trip to Danville and instead wanted a home game. Just surprising they wouldn’t want that game. This is a team that scheduled Garaway, Fort Frye and Barnesville in weeks 1-3. Again, they’ll play anyone.
My point about being selective is…I would have never played those schools that jumped on them once their well went dry (Barnesville, Shady, WC)…For a future, hypothetical example, from my understanding Monroe Central never wanted to play back when both teams were really good in D4 and D5 respectively. Hypothetically, say Monroe has an awesome team coming up and Bellaire is what they are currently (not good). I would turn Monroe down and play someone else. didn’t want to play us then, don’t come knocking now. That sounds petty I know. Not to be anti-Bellaire, but just a couple thoughts…
• I know of at least one school that tried to get a deal going with Bellaire when it still entailed a Saturday at Nelson. The two coaches from their last matchup had long since been gone. They didn’t hear anything back.
• It’s kind of hard, JMO, to embrace the idea that Bellaire should be more selective. For two reasons, 1) if not Danville… then who? 2) so, if not Shadyside and WCC, then who is there to even strike a deal with that meshes both travel interest and worthwhile opponent to play?
Not said as an attack — just doesn’t make much sense the idea that a school one football throw away from WV can be that selective, ya know
I think a useful middle ground for Bellaire’s schedule prospects down the line would be that flight of Buckeye Trail, Shenandoah, maybe Meadowbrook, uh… maybe the future Wetzel Consolidated (?.) I like the MC add, tho.My point about being selective is…I would have never played those schools that jumped on them once their well went dry (Barnesville, Shady, WC)…For a future, hypothetical example, from my understanding Monroe Central never wanted to play back when both teams were really good in D4 and D5 respectively. I’m not saying they should be more selective from a winnable/not winnable game perspective. They clearly haven’t done that with scheduling the above mentioned 3 schools (from my first post) back to back to back.
But maybe you’re right, is the program at the point of scheduling Cameron, Magnolia, Tyler, etc..?? It’s looking more and more like they’re at that point.
You’re not going to offend me. I’m not from Bellaire, I’ve just followed them for 30 years and do have a love of Bellaire football.
There are those of us that live in reality and those of us (one person on the other site) that think the program is what it was.I think a useful middle ground for Bellaire’s schedule prospects down the line would be that flight of Buckeye Trail, Shenandoah, maybe Meadowbrook, uh… maybe the future Wetzel Consolidated (?.) Maybe throw in Edison, Harrison Central, Claymont, Toronto. There are those of us that live in reality and those of us (one person on the other site) that think the program is what it was.
We can live in the past or move on and play your schedule.
I didn’t mention HC because… isn’t HC in the Buckeye 8? Honestly it’s hard to keep track of what the leagues east of 77 look like these days.Maybe throw in Edison, Harrison Central, Claymont, Toronto.
The Buckeye 8 exists on paper. Apparently so does a league called the MOVL, which seems to have replaced the River Valley League, which included several teams from the Pioneer Valley Conference. These mini conferences and especially the larger umbrella OVAC, do not work for football and never will.I didn’t mention HC because… isn’t HC in the Buckeye 8? Every time there’s a league realignment out there…

Good call on Edison. Bellaire already plays the Potters in the B8, so why not them?
Boy, if they played Toronto, the site would crash the moment something happens in that game.
Had to give it a read after this post. Thank youMartins Ferry threads over on That Other Board:

It'll all come down to if CV can stop the run. CV gave up 3, 70-80 yarders against SCC.Steering back to R27, can CV pull the upset over Trimble. Nothing against the Trimble fan, but I would love to see the Rockets advance.
Relevant to R27 and the OV: will the impending Wetzel consolidations force the MOVL to realign? Or are they going to just keep Beallsville separated from Bridgeport, Shadyside etc’s part of the MOVL even if it comes to making Brownsville & the Cee-Bee’s members in the process? The Buckeye 8 exists on paper.
