2024 St. Ignatius Football

Someone will have to explain to me why the OC for Ignatius likes to throw the ball on 3rd and short, go 4-5 wide with 3rd string offensive linemen protecting a sophomore QB.

2 losses now to the Canadian team. Just new levels of low for ignatius football. Hope that doesn’t offend the “you don’t know “ people.

-Can't kick FGs
-Can't come up with a 4th & long stop to ice it
-Questionable play calling/strategy in the clutch

All of the 2024 Wildcats hits were played tonight

The kicking/punting game for Ignatius has been horrendous all season.
I remember the days when superior and clutch Special Teams play would win games. The 2008 playoff game vs. Glenville and 2011 playoff win against St. Edward comes to mind. What a shame it’s come to this.

I noticed something that shocked me a bit. In the Huddle for the final 4th down offensive play and Franzinger isn't even in it? Was at periphery and walked away. That's just odd on a game deciding play

Guess he didn’t want to hear another 5 wide zero protection gem being called.

1st down at 20 on last drive. In normal world can get couple runs, maybe a short pas, middle of field, kick FG, win. Nope, can't do that, cause no kicking game, so lose 20 yards on 3 plays and have to throw a hail mary

Well when you run a stretch run play at their best DL being blocked by an undersized 3rd string soph lineman, you go right to 2nd and 19. Then go 4 wides on 3rd and the QB takes a sack.

Remember when we used to laugh at Glenville in the late 2000s for having zero kicking game? That’s us now fellas….
We don't have to go too deep but part of the reason for that is there isn't a ton of kids in the Glenville area who were messing around with Soccer balls as kids. Ignatius always had kids who could kick. I can't believe they couldn't kick a field goal for an entire football season. There is 0 excuse.

I can't understand how so many coaches on 1 sideline can be so clueless.
