Toledo Area Hoops 24-25

With Ottawa Glandorf's win over Toledo CC yesterday, OG's Troy Yant picked up his 300th victory as the HC of the Titans......in just his 13th season. That's an average of 23 wins per season......including a 16-0 start this season with 44 losses. Titans have been to 6 final fours in 12 years....and look to be on their way again.

A Basketball factory.

What jobs are going to open on the girls side after this season? Any insight? Hopefully not many because we need stability but there are always some.

Not sure we are talking enough about the absolute dominance of Anthony Wayne girls basketball this year

72.5 ppg
allowing just 29.5ppg

All with the Bender twins and Pike playing usually only 2/3 of a game.

Generals should roll into the regional final fairly easily and will probably dismantle Wadsworth, Hudson, or Avon. What a year.

Welp, it wouldn’t be an off season without St Ursula hiring. (I really don’t know if they will move on from him or not)

Hopefully a lot of openings. There was some awful coaching this year.

Athletic Directors if you are reading this- Hire assistants who have been sitting on successful benches. Stop falling for the trainers who are out for themselves.

Shout out to Coach Nowak from Lake. Not many picked them to be playing for a legit District championship. Definitely peaking at the right time.

Side note- for D1 and D2 are we putting new text on our banners in the gym if we win one or two games and are District Champs? It’s odd to think that’s possible, but expansion has made that a plausible scenario.

You always seem to have a sore spot for Ursula 🤣 It’s hard to get someone to coach there. Maybe they just need stability.

I personally do not see many jobs opening up. At least not a large amount.

Adding certain coaches on my socials is bad for my mental health- A couple posts a month about your 4-18 high school team all year, but now let’s flood the timeline with your AAU stuff.
I feel bad for the parents that are gonna send you their kids.

Anyway:
Please show me more about Anthony Wayne’s potential run for eternal State glory, Notre Dame’s exciting path, will Coach Hodges get a District ship? How far will Patrick Henry go? Has Gibsonburg’s raw roster acquired enough experience to help Ellie get by Carey in the District Finals?

Perrysburg lost their best 2 players to transfer/injury, but with the new alignment here they are with a chance to go to regionals.

With the graduation of Lauren Gerken this was supposed to be the rebuilding year for LB, but little sister said, “not so fast”. Do they do anything in regionals or does Lake have more magic left in the tank to circumvent that?

Bellevue vs Shelby is sure to be Epic!

Does Norwalk, Margaretta or Danbury have a big run in them? NORTHWEST07, are all of our out east neighbors seeming healthy with rosters in tact and ready to make a run?

Please give me more of this before it’s over and we HAVE to talk coach changes.

Anthony Wayne should walk into the state semi-final with relative ease.

The bigger story is there is a shot for Start or Northview to get to a regional final game in D2 as well. Harrison is good but has not really played many good teams. That would be huge for either program. Then if they win they would have to face Winton Woods in the final. That would be a crazy underdog win but 🤷‍♂️. I’m taking Start to get to the regional final there.

Another story will be Notre Dame Academy getting to the regional semi-final against Norwalk. Then either Granville in a regional final if they beat Norwalk. They could see themselves in a state final four (if the final four even matters anymore since it’s no longer an event)

Liberty Benton over Lake. Turnovers will hurt Lake in this game unfortunately. And Liberty Benton will really kill it on the offensive rebounds while Lake sits in that 1-3-1.

Give me Perrysburg getting to Regional Semi’s the. It ends there when they run into Mason. Can’t play a team like that and expect to win when you aren’t fully healthy.

I’ll take a Patrick Henry over Gibsonburg regional semi and then Patrick Henry making it to the state semifinal.

We have a legitimate chance to have a bunch of Northwest Ohio teams that have a legitimate chance to make it to the”states”.

Then we can get back to open jobs and you taking jabs at St. Ursula when they are already have been in the casket for years. 😉 😂

D1- I think Perrysburg gets past Findlay but runs into the buzzsaw of Mason at the Regionals.
D2- Anthony Wayne is the favorite to win it all with only Winton Woods having a chance, saw them at the classic and they are capable for sure. I believe after regional finals the state will determine the state semi matchups, not sure how they do that (geographical or by higher RPI etc) but assume they don't get WW in semis. Start-NV is a coinflip and assume either team has decent chance to get to regional final until they get to Winton Woods. Harrison has great record but not sure how strong their comp is.
D3- Notre Dame should roll over Central Catholic again, plus heard Hodges is getting reported for recruiting so who knows what issues that could lead too. I like Norwalk alot, saw them a couple times this year, I think they can give Notre Dame a run for it and the winner runs into Granville who is very good but I think Notre matches up better with them than Norwalk.
D4- I think Bellevue will make a good run, Shelby will be tough as will Kenton though
D5- I think the Millbury magic runs out vs LB and I like OG to march on through as well
D6- I think PH is strong this year and I haven't seen Carey but would lean more on PH there. I think Margaretta can get to regionals but Convoy is tough. I think PH and Convoy would be a heck of a game if both get all the way through
D7-Ottovillve has been great all year and I really like them getting all the way through to final 4

Lol. Central gonna Central. I had a feeling when they posted the "any JR high girl in a jersey night gets in free" that wasn't going to go over well with other coaches. (Can do that for your own parochial JR High kids or their allotted Scott District kids, everyone else is off limits)

The NV/Start winner does in fact get : Harrison/Stebbins winner and then Winton Woods if they move on.

Anthony Wayne's path- Clay, (Twinsburg/Harding),(Wadsworth/Hudson/Avon), (most likely Green/Olmstead Falls) They would see Winton Woods in the State Championship if they win that side of the bracket.

Notre Dame vs. Norwalk is gonna be another amazing matchup. Norwalk is very talented and well coached, but they've not seen the type of pressure that ND is going to apply. That's going to be a heck of a game.

I almost forgot about Ottawa Glandorf. A Division 5 program that beat Central Catholic by 40 as well as handled Perrysburg, they have a legit shot of calling themselves State champs.

I agree on Lake 100%, if they take Wiley away Lake wont be able to take care of the ball.
