Toledo Area Hoops 24-25

Start - 54
Rogers - 24

When start pressed early Rogers couldn’t even get the ball past half court. The defensive intensity was really impressive.

A Start vs Anthony Wayne playoff game would be interesting. These two teams are clearly the two top D2’s in the area.

Northview doesn’t have a weakness

Northview doesn’t have a weakness
I really think those two teams are head and shoulders above Northview. They will have weaknesses against those two teams.

We will have to wait and see though. Tonight Northview will be tested against Bedford. They are very solid with a bunch of D1 athletes but they play a very conservative style and do not use their athleticism that much which should benefit Northview.

The defensive intensity that Start showed yesterday was beyond impressive. Looking at their schedule they really don’t play any teams that can do that outside of Anthony Wayne or Genoa and both of those teams can’t apply the pressure like that.

As far as Anthony Wayne and Northview. Not much has changed with either team and it was almost a 40 point win for Anthony Wayne.

So I will definitely stick with Start and Anthony Wayne being head and shoulders above everyone else. But there are a few decent teams around that 3rd spot.

Well yeah. I assumed everybody was clear that AW was head and shoulders above everyone. Start is not better than NV though. Barring and God forbid another major injury, Im taking Northview on the opposite side of the bracket than AW through the D2 Districts.

With expanded divisions, The D2 tournament will look something like 1 Anthony Wayne vs 5 Clay 6 Southview Winner

2 Northview vs 4 Fremont Ross 3 Start winner (or for the sake of argument flip NV/Start.)

So Northview will meet Start second round and we will get our answer.

Start is way better than Northview lol And it is not even close. When Northview is hitting the 3 they are a decent team and I will give you that. When they aren’t hitting they struggle. I’m very surprised by your take there. You are usually pretty spot on.

12/5, 12/6, 12/7 Predictions 20 picks
NLL 12/6 games
Game of the Week:
Northview 51 Perrysburg 45 Perrysburg got them twice last year, by 10 and by 20. I think Perrysburg has lost a little too much to maintain that hold on the Lady Kats this year.

Whitmer 33 Findlay 31 Probably should be GOTW, but neither of these teams has looked very good thus far. Despite winning 3 games early against some subpar opponents, Findlay doesn't have much that can score outside of the superstar Freshmen Davinee Harris. I think Whitmer is a little more balanced and able to pull it out here.

Clay 35 Southview 31 Neither team is very good. Expect a low scoring affair.

Napoleon 54 Bowling Green 19 Napoleon is still finding their way. They're playing scrappy and look great on defense, however, this will be the game where the offense gets going.

DEC 8th Purcell Marian 78 Anthony Wayne 49. I love that AW scheduled this game. They are going to face a press like they've never seen. They'll struggle and that's okay. This is a hell of a measuring stick.

Ross 59 Springfield 25 Ross has had a brutal schedule. It hasn't started as they'd like, but they will be 2-0 and already have a hold on the conference lead.

NBC

12/5 Genoa 56 Eastwood 35 Genoa is getting healthy. They should cruise here.
12/5 Oak Harbor 57 Fostoria 39 Fostoria won't be able to keep up in this one.
12/5 Maumee 55 Rossford 36 Rossford has the most amazing facilities around, but their program is going in the wrong direction

City-
Start vs Centennial - - Abstain from this pick- Centennial was solid last year. Admittedly dont know anything about them this year. Would guess they give Start their best test so far this season.

Bowsher- off

12/7 Lima Senior 40- St Ursula 35 Anya James will probably too much for the Arrows. Travesty how under coached SUA has been the past 6 years.

SBC- 12/5 Gibsonburg 60 Tiffin Calvert 49 Very early matchup of these two solid squads
12/5 Danbury 57 Hopewell Loudon 54. What a great slate of games!
12/5 Woodmore 41 Lakota 32

NWOAL

12/6 Archbold 67 Edgerton 23 Edgerton will be overwhelmed by Archbold's pressure

12/6 Patrick Henry 68 Ayersville 30

12/5 Wauseon 65 St. Ursula 47
12/5 Evergreen 60 Swanton 25

TAAC

12/5 Ottawa Hills 54 Delta 38 Delta is in reload mode and Ottawa Hills is utilizing its size well thus far.

Stritch 31 vs. Northwood 25 Someone has to win their first game.

12/7 TC vs SVSM SVSM 64 TC 40. They are outgunned here. Not going to be pretty.

Possibly some suspensions for some of the SVSM girls after their recent brawl with Canton McKinley. Maybe the timing works in TC's favor?

TC over Ottawa Hills 👀👀👀
lol. Dang it. They got the first one. Hopefully OH gets the second game. I watched TC on BCSN. Markley and Reed could score the basketball. Everyone else was in pure panic when they touched it. I don’t know how you don’t game plan for that, but it is what it is.

Yeah. I wonder how they would react to a boxing and 2. I’m sure the coach will think of something by the time they play TC again.
