#PACtion™ 2024

I think Minerva would be a good addition to the pac for several reasons.

1. Good facilities
2. Declining enrollment

I understand the 3-77 argument but during that same span would they have a better or worse record if they were members of the PAC? I would be willing to bet they would have a few additional wins.

plus the addition of a Minerva would boost the conference in sports like Wrestling, track, and cross country.
In the PAC they're maybe 10-70 but not much better. I doubt they'd be a welcome addition to the conference because of the geography, Coventry is still the clear choice

Yeah, I'd have to disagree completely on this. I know adding a school isn't all about football, but in the 8 years of Minerva's 3-77 the PAC has had multiple regional finalists, a state semifinalist, and a state champ. Sure they MIGHT have won 1-2 games more each of those years, but they sure wouldn't have done anything else to help the league football wise.

I can't speak to the other sports, but while I really enjoy a good track program that shouldn't move the needle on adding a school to a league.

@ShootNation I think you're on track about the distance thing. Not that distance is the end all be all, but if you're going to replace CVCA with another long drive then you sure as heck better get some tickets sales out of it. Triway to Minerva is the same drive time as Manchester to Lucas. Even though Lucas is a too small for the league, they'd probably bring a better gate than what a 3-77 crowd would look like.

Thanks Bob. Love the song but not the cast iron skillet. That was my ex wifes favorite weapon (and I married her twice!).
The iron skillet comment is hilarious.

What's sad and (maybe) funny is I love cast iron skillets because I love to cook and cooking is a skill I picked up after divorce.

I only buy cooking utensils, pots, or pans made in the USA or Europe. The quality is better and serious cooks don't want cheap Chinese junk. It's hard to find stuff made in the USA or Europe....but I'll take the time as much as I can.

Why do I know about this? Because my ex loved Chinese junk sold for cheap at Target or Walmart. It wasn't important to her.

Massillon used to make Ecko products. Bring it back! Again, in the big picture, I think many towns like Massillon, Wooster, and Orrville (and others not mentioned) did an admirable effort trying to keep their local economy afloat.

I got a French made pan at a thrift store for $5. It's better than a brand new pan made in China sold at your big box stores.

I like the country music videos. Toby Keith put serious effort into that video you posted. That had to be a hell of a budget for that one. The lyrics were clever, Toby had acting chops, well done.

I rag on @ShootNation but he makes good points.

I also firmly believe Lucas is a fine opponent for some #PACtion™ schools.

Here is another one Rich Kotite. All I need is a bigger swimming pool. And I cook mostly with cast iron. Once seasoned you can not beat them.

Good effort in this video but one negative I'd say is maybe this plays into the negative opinion the coastal Americans think about the heartland....but there's a positive message in there, too. Family and appreciation of what you have. A simple life.

Of course the NYC or DC or Philly and LA or SF crowd completely ignore rural upstate New York state or the massively agricultural Central Valley of California. Fresno, Modesto, Bakersfield....

Waiting to hit the lottery so I can buy a mountain in W Virginia but in the meantime I retired this year and bought a trailer in Randolph. Not bad and the neighbors are good! And I don't care what coastal Americans think!
Waterloo Vikings....get tuff.

I wanted to get Bengals tickets this year just to go and rag on any of the coastal peeps from Washington or Philly coming into Cincinnati but my GF is really hesitant. 😂

My youngest son lives down in the Lakota area. Seems like good people down there. Or is the Ohio River coastal?

Absolutely not coastal. Bengal games are a good time. Cincinnati is a great city to visit. Just study it before you go to appreciate where you want to visit. We like Findlay Market, Covington, Newport, and the German restaurants & culture. Christian Moerlein restaurant & brewery and the Taste of Belgium restaurant.

Reds opening day is amazing and I'm not a big baseball fan these days but the community spirit for Reds opening day is 🔥. Cincinnata (Newport) has a fine aquarium with a lot of sharks! 😂

UC & Xavier college hoops and a Bearcats football game at Nippert Stadium.... totally cool.

And the chili.... I'm a fan.

I like the Bengals due to the Massillon Paul Brown connection and I got hooked on the Super Bowl runner up Bengals in 1981 when I was a "yut" and while I like the Browns I lean to the Bengals. And I met former Bengals head coach Sam Wyche and he was great!

I "get" the Steelers, too. Working in business I admire excellence and smart management. Pittsburgh is a great city, I just hate driving across that town. I have enjoyed some Pitt Panthers football games, too, at the old stadium and Heinz Field.

Cleveland (and Columbus) is a great city and Akron (and maybe Columbus) needs to be a tag team or 3-person tag team with Cleveland. NE Ohio and the whole state of Ohio would be a force if we did.

Make me Gov of Ohio.

Ask Canton South how leaving the NBC/EBC has worked for them.
They did not win ONE single league title during their 30 year membership with the NBC/EBC. Would they have won the last couple years? Sure they could have. They obviously beat West Branch in the playoffs this past season. My point being sometimes a new schedule and new league is refreshing to a program.

If not Minerva, then who is a legitimate candidate?
Akron Springfield
Coventry
Sandy Valley
Marlington
Norton

Coach Julio's one-half page playbook & one-half page mac & cheese recipe was buried down there. The playbook and recipe shared the same page but no one wanted to share that mac & cheese.

Mustang mac & cheese.
Moving right along, I think they unearthed a time capsule with the great Jim Kurzen's short shorts and a green play book......

That's just it A1
No list of interest has been published.....no announcement of target schools has been published.

We all have made suggestions with valid reasoning for why School A would be a better fit than School B

but nothing
we all still just sit and wait. I don't see Springfield or Coventry or Norton pulling out of the Metro
Sandy could be but won't be a candidate - I think they secretly would like to be at the forefront of a new league - don't ask why I think that I just do
Marlington would love to be a big fish in little pond - but I don't see the PAC voting them in when they teeter into D3 quite often.

Dalton lol
Meetings at the Dalton Dutch Kitchen have gotten Kissinger-like.

Heavy and complicated diplomacy continues. Tuslaw keeps pushing for a return to the gold standard and "sound money" with the U.S. Dollar as part of their finance strategy for an indoor football practice facility, indoor swimming pool, and senior center. Dalton says Janet Yellen and Jerome Powell should just keep running the printing press.

Dalton keeps denying interest in #PACtion but they keep showing up at every scheduled lunch meeting.

There has even been a discussion of a diplomatic opening with The Silent Flock allowing for more participation on #PACtion.
