I'll miss your writing with conviction. I still think your new league should have a meeting with CCC.Assuming a standard 60-day installation window, the field should easily be in by the end of July.
I know you've heard this before but this year is our yearShoot Facial is like the Cleveland Browns front office....he thinks he's the smartest in the room....but then his moves turn into a tire fire like out near Amsterdam somewhere off SR 43 in the middle of nowhere Carroll County (almost in) Jefferson County.

I read over the weekend that a 334 unit housing development is planned for Lake Township near Lake Center Street & King Church Avenue. If this is in Lake schools @Bluestreakoffice may not drop down to DIII.
@Bluestreakoffice - give us a full report.
I didn't realize that Brooke was part of this...crossing the river had to be fun till they built that new bridge. All the schools except Brooke are in Ohio...I wonder what issues they have had to work out between the 2 states athletic associationsWOW. Even the Buckeye 8 won't take Carrollton and took Cambridge instead.

Buckeye 8 will be 12 in the 2025-26 season
The recent announcement of the Buckeye 8 Athletic League expansion, along with the selection of Don Cash as league commissioner, did much to quell any swirling rumors surrounding the league. The conference is no longer shrinking, set to lose yet another charter member. Instead, the expansion is...www.morningjournalnews.com
But there's this regarding the failed EBC.....which is not hot:
When you have to make your obligatory trip to Steubenville have you traversed your way down 43 thru Carrollton to Amsterdam and thought of staying at the Honking Goose Inn!View attachment 58853

But I give Shoot credit, he's still a solid commentator. He must have been turned down from Tuslaw or Manchester years ago....maybe he has Crooked Canal Fulton connections.

Why would the IVC take Aquinas? Why would they want Aquinas?I'll miss your writing with conviction. I still think your new league should have a meeting with CCC.
Aquinas should go IVC
@bootleg
Maybe the bigger 7 school division of the IVC should play #PACtionâ„¢ (7 schools) for one "non-league" but arranged game a year in rotation?
Was that what youse were thinking? Or were youse thinking Arby's?
There's some non league options in Olympic sports.....Lake Center Christian, Kidron, CCC, Sirpilla RV Aquinas....and there's some opportunities with Massillon in Olympic sports (girls sports, golf, swimming, tennis, soccer, wrestling, and others). Not basketball; maybe a small amount of baseball.
Really....Shoot Facial....really....lolView attachment 58853

Cambridge has been in the league for 4 years.WOW. Even the Buckeye 8 won't take Carrollton and took Cambridge instead.

Carrollton is in that geographic footprint. Why weren't they taken into the Buckeye 8? They lost out to Brooke!Cambridge has been in the league for 4 years.

The obvious "hitch" to any league is having an odd number and that pesky floating bye week.I'll miss your writing with conviction. I still think your new league should have a meeting with CCC.

The part of that story that stood out to me was "Hartville is still a VILLAGE?" Guess that shows my football bias. Manchester, a D5 school, resides in the CITY of New Franklin where there are no other high schools. Lake, a D2 (bordering on D3) school, is 2 miles away from Lake Center HS in the VILLAGE of Hartville.Hartville Village Council
Geography IS weird, however, remember that Lake Local Schools also have the Village of Uniontown and a whole bunch of Lake Township land that's not in either the village of Hartville or Uniontown. There's approximately 20,000 people that live in Lake Local Schools. It would be higher if not for a small quarter of Lake Township consisting of Greentown that goes to North Canton Hoover. Greentown merged with Hoover in, I believe, 1956.The part of that story that stood out to me was "Hartville is still a VILLAGE?" Guess that shows my football bias. Geography is weird . . .
That makes more sense about New Franklin. Didn't realize they converted the township to a city.Geography IS weird, however, remember that Lake Local Schools also have the Village of Uniontown and a whole bunch of Lake Township land that's not in either the village of Hartville or Uniontown. In the City of New Franklin, which is all of the old Franklin Township sans the Village of Clinton, you have four school districts: Northwest, Norton, Coventry, and Manchester.
Raylan, I love maps and made a slight tweek to your map:That makes more sense about New Franklin. Didn't realize they converted the township to a city.
That said, it's still weird considering they're a "city" but majority of the city doesn't have sewer service and just got public water.
Found the Summit Co version of school district map below

LOVE IT! Looking at this spectacular map makes me wonder - what if we had a Bellstores league? All schools in a town with a Bellstores in them? What would that look like? Imagine we'd at least have a Big & Small school division (Maybe those schools could split from the OHSAA and that could be the "separate" playoff the Triway & Dalton superintendents were trying to get back in the day?).
Fun facts about one IVC school in particular, I heard Cardinal Mooney and a few other larger schools refused to play Garaway trying to fill non-league spots. Can't say I blame them given the run they had last year and most of their kids back likely to make a similar run.The obvious "hitch" to any league is having an odd number and that pesky floating bye week.
I never understood why the IVC didn't try to recruit to become an 8 and 8 team league when there are some obvious candidates close by. Sirpilla Aquinas is shall now be known by, is an obvious addition to the IVC (why wouldn't the bigs want the smalls to get to 8 so they don't have to play those embarrassing one sided matchups) ....
regardless they aren't as tuff as PACtionâ„¢
What will be the direction of our beloved PACtionâ„¢ moving forward? or is the 7 solid for now? sometimes schools can't agree so staying static may be the answer, are the powers of PACtionâ„¢ even meeting? or are they holding off for something to rise up and hit them in the face?(like adding teams mentioned by Rich)
PACtionâ„¢
