#PACtion™ 2024

Guess you miss the point or don't want to admit this was a class B championship won " on the field". Being a Beacon Journal article and " neighborly " thing to do had nothing to do with actually winning a championship " on the field" . So you'll never be convinced so I'll just leave it at that.
No, I get it. Your team went 10-0 and the local paper declared them the state champs. There's no record of it anywhere else that I could find, but that doesn't make it wrong. That's just how things worked 70 years ago.

I'm just trying to get you worked up because I have nothing better to do waiting for my pie to digest so I can go bed . . .

First, #PACtion has been a welcome relief today from the ridonkulus excel file I had to fill out for a vendor.

Second, there's a lot to unpack in that one single Raylan sentence.

In no particular order, IMO:

1. The Fed actually has opportunities to improve their football product and that doesn't even mean the tired, stupid and boring "add Massillon to the Fed argument" that got beaten more than a schnitzel.

2. They could add an 8th "football only" school but that would mean.....tuffer competition. School admins aren't champions of creative thinking, so that's not gonna happen. But I believe it could if they wanted it.

3. @Bluestreakoffice's Lake Blue Streaks were at 404 boys in the last OHSAA enrollment report. The cut off for D-III is 389 boys. At some point I think this is a bridge that Lake and Fed are gonna have to cross.

4. Bluntly, I don't see McK ever coming back to the McK of days past. Respect their tradition, I own Bowersox's book about it. But I don't see it coming back for them. The city is too big of a mess. Part of it is the industrial decline forced by the Wall Street/DC ruling class upon factory towns like Canton and the other part is societal decline.

I think Canton leadership saw this years ago and got in the Fed to maintain a winnable football schedule. The other sports at McK, outside of basketball, have been a disaster in the Fed. That move was made for football. They saw that it was going to be very hard to play an independent schedule with an empty stadium (except for the Massillon game) and not much money to offer opponents to come to Canton. In addition to the program losing talent, discipline, coaching ability, fan support, you name it.

The school admin at Canton CS don't have the moxie of years past, either. They allow the Hall of Foam Vacation Land to walk all over them and treat the school district like a second class citizen. I'd love to see Canton grow a pair and build their own stadium and get out of the HOF stadium except if they want to play Massillon there.

HOT TAKES.
Even slipping to D3 I don't see Lake leaving the fed - and it is a topic that lands in the ballpark of the jokes about adding mogadore and kidron and lake chritstian to the pac (quite possibly STA and CCC would consider as well)

Lake has a high level of participation. A very high level. The fed has many sports and co curriculars with full rosters for all the Lake kids to participate and compete against. I know some from the Lake district and those parents want to see their kiddos get a chance to participate - which is what you find in Jackson NC GO Green Perry. So until there a is a huge gap in competitiveness, which Lake is far and away from not being competitive in anything yet, we won't see an exit or have to cross that bridge.

McKinley is a whole other thread that doesn't get to happen due to obvious posters that we don't even need to bring here because several in those conversations will never understand the greatness of small school football and what it means to cheer on home town boys that just want to play the game and all the hype of college recruiting blah blah is not in play.

I never contemplated the idea of combining some schools in a league to even out rosters. However I feel the jest of it is actually not a bad idea to explore. Yes many PACtion™ schools now have soccer, but not all. Yes the PAC could welcome a school like Mogadore, or not......but still explore a couple schools in the footprint that could bring depth to some other sports and include some schools that already find themselves on the schedules as OOC games or matches, grows all invitational/olympic/country club sports.

PACtion™ stay with me here....Tim Misney is an out of the box thinker - just look at some of those billboards which are genius!

However we may be reaching when discussing the next PAC commish - again I place my chips to bet somebody is reading this board and actually is taking the idea of combining schools to satisfy schedules in league affiliation to the meetings. (IVC kinda does it already with Hiland)

Maybe it has legs, maybe not. But at least its a dialogue which is more than we have heard from the powers to be of PACtion™

and maybe their silence is they are trying to get it right, because the tuffness or PACtion™ is at stake and the wrath of this thread and its delegates is too intimidating to get it wrong.

PACtion™ is tuffness

My kids went to Alliance when they were in the Federal. My son was all state on an 0-10 football team. Wrestling was a different story. Dave Riggs did not like the outcomes when Mighty Perry wrestled Alliance. Even though they won the duals Alliance had a pretty good wrestling team back in the early 2000's

The question is if Lake Center Christian is added as a non football league affiliate member does @Bluestreakoffice claim them on this thread? Will he represent them here?
No on the claim them....they are not Blue Streaks...we have had some kids come over and play football, but not that many....I think it is because of some of the other sports that they may not have, skews our CB numbers. I will try to answer info about them if I know it....but they are a separate school that is ran by what remaining Mennonite families in the area..or used to be. This school started out as lighter version of Hartville Christian and now has passed it...but Hartville Christian still exists. First graduating class was 1965 and had 7 kids.

Your question of why Lake passed Field the answer has a lot to do with the area's Amish influence and the abundance of farm land that could easily be developed into allotments. That ease now has become a detriment to development because it was all individual wells and septic systems, people are not as accepting of these as they used to be. The Amish influence was very noticeable with alcohol....the last actual bar in the Hartville Uniontown area was this building in the 40's....this building was not in Hartville as it is now....and yes that is a Bellstores across the street...lol

Tuffness is #PACtion™.
#PACtion™ is tuffness.

Riding with my grandfather as a kid in his Chrysler K-Car (as he put it "Lee Iacocca saved Chrysler and he's a great American")....my grandfather was quite memorable with his opinions of a devout Catholic who grew up the son of Hungarian immigrants during the 20's and 30's.

He would get quite opinionated about his support of JFK, his switch to Nixon later in the 60's, his childhood in Cleveland, how Ara Parseghian was a great coach, John Madden was (in his mind) too loud and unpolished, how the "go*damn Communists" were out of control, how the Habsburg Empire should have stayed together, Gabe Paul was a fine GM with no money to spend, and on and on.

What was the music in the background to this barrage of tuff opinions?

The Chairman of the Board. Of course.

I must now go stir the gravy.

due to a drive request by the better half I came by a smaller but still.....Bellstore in WACO just down from Wild Bill's Chicken and Pizza Smiths Market. Needless I was thunderstruck like young Michael upon seeing Apolonia for the first time.

Just needed to make everyone aware

I think this will be more appropriate

With @FirestoneFan throwing these redneck country and western songs on this thread, I need a clarification. Did #PACtion™ combine with WCAL and we are now slumming it?

It’s a good indication you missed your own funeral if your feet don’t move when Hoyt Pollard plucks the strings!

But, No, that wasn’t me. Based on how the ladies reacted, I did try to find a vest like the one Burt Reynolds wore in the flick. By the time I found one it was too late. Looked more like an uncooked sausage escaping its casing than a former Seminole making movies…

James Caan is the epitome of tuffness & range: Godfather, Misery, Elf, need I say more?
TOTAL TUFFNESS
Personally my fav flick he was a part of was the old John Wayne "El Dorado".....and he did have parts in football movies "The Program" and "Brian's Song" which we all read the book and watched the movie.

Caan actually bruised the ribs of the actor that played CARLOS (who in fact was the made man that was given a spot in the movie....or was made to have a spot whichever world you live in) during the fight scene in the street - they did not like each other in real life.

Both actors wanted the part of Michael, however Caan was perfect for Santino aka Sonny

PACtion™

and Burt Reynolds in his hat - tuffness, now you find a pic of Ole Koach in his marines get up from way back in the day.....and its a landslide win pointing to France - which is nearly an oxymoron for all the WWII buffs.

again the greatness of PACtion™ is on full display right now. oh and Deliverance is sad in the respect that those rivers are all flooded out now and we can't have a PACtion™ retreat down the Cahulawassee
