Swensons is a Yankees/ Dallas Cowboys/ Notre Dame kinda place - folks tend to love it or hate it. Not much in between. And if you mix the 2 groups, watchout for Premier League level thuggery...Swenson's isn't good.

It's not as good as it used to be. However, I still like it. Burgers are pretty good....but let's be honest, I go for the onion rings and chocolate shakes...Swenson's isn't good.

Well done, Sir. WELL DONE! This type of quality posting, in May no less, has to put us in great position to repeat in @The Dock end of year awards. (https://yappi.com/forum/index.php?threads/the-dock-v3-final-standings-post-125.355119/post-8598422)It's Friday and What Have We Learned This Week?

Congrats to Canton South's Poochie Snyder on his first FCS offer to Maine. No doubt he'll be on the attack once senior year commences.
Last weekend was the NFL Draft, and CVCA's Tre Tucker was pick #100, late in the third round, going to the Las Vegas Raiders. It sparked a great debate over Tucker, Orrville's Marquael Parks and Ethan Wright.

Old school video of @the123kidz and @Raylan_Givens pondering the PAC Wonder Years
There was football news. No divisional changes for the PAC this fall, but @OrrvilleRR started his own Orrville thread. We're all friendly rivals, or so the OHSAA pregame announcement says each week, so let me put this out there:
No truth the rumor that lawnmowers for the football field at Tuslaw lost at the ballot on Tuesday. They've never been in the budget. The welcome mat is out for @Bluestreakoffice and @TriangleMan all across the PAC this fall. But they've been warned to stay away from the guy with the gas can at CVCA. We had a rare visit from @Youngguy, who was last seen letting the Yappi world know that Manchester had 70 kids our this year for football Speaking of Wonder Years, salt was poured into an old @CasualFan24 wound with the memory of the night when #PACtion adopted CFL rules for the Orrville defense against Northwest in 2019 Andy Allanson wasn't a good catcher. He couldn't hit a lick. And not good with the kids autographs either. But perfect for a highfalutin 2023 #PACtion mention. Doug Dieken. Incognito. Dubl Tyme. Yep. Find it all here, folks.

(HAS to be better than the band pictures Stizo kept showing folks in the lobby last year!)
That's it! Can't wait to take a closer look at that restaurant book, too. First glance brought back a lot of memories of a lot of places. It was called Dubl Tyme...the owner opened one in the Belden Village area...here is a picture and why the people were protesting the place..lol

My wife is from Virginia and that's where I live now, though we lived in NE Ohio for a while a few years ago. She became a Barberton chicken aficionado while we lived there. One time I came home to find boxed dinners from Hopocan, White House, Belgrade's, and Milich's (Before they closed and reopened) on the table. She decided to do a taste test of each. That's how into it she was and still is. Every so often she suggests we drive up I-77 for chicken, though we haven't made that trip for that specific reason, yet. One day I'm sure we will. In the meantime, if I travel north and don't have chicken when I return back to Virginia, I am chastised and scolded. She has suggested we look into buying a franchise and opening one up down here in Roanoke. If I were a bit younger and a lot wealthier, I might actually consider it.I wish Barberton chicken would franchise out at least "state wide" but sadly I don't think people outside of the 330 would appreciate that chicken and hot sauce. Swenson's has branched out into Columbus; not sure how they're doing.
I've always been a breast guy and Hopocan changed their breasts in the last year or so....not as good as before! My wife is from Virginia and that's where I live now, though we lived in NE Ohio for a while a few years ago. All reports indicate every PAC team will field a football team this seasonFOOTBALL POSTS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
No less than seven different football-related topics covered in that post … in May, no less, and at least two of them with ties to Manchester football, and this is your reply?FOOTBALL POSTS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

Here’s some help. How about you, as a Manchester supporter, contribute and let us know how off-season training has gone for the Panthers. Did all 22 freshmen on the roster come back? Will any of them be impact players? Has Coach Stacy filled out his staff? Will the losing streak stop in Week One at Smithville? What is Cincinnati saying about Wright as a rising senior? Is he expected to stay at running back where he led the team in rushing at the Fenway Bowl? Or will he go back to defense and special teams under the new regime?
I look at all these great non-football posts and admire in the creativity, the humor, and the facts that I did not know. The way I see it this is the cocktail hour before the main speaker....you have a beverage or two and just be friendly, smile, and enjoy the camaraderie! I would be interested in this info....I know and like Coach Stacy....I am looking forward to a successful tenure and would love to be at their first game against Northwest and Coach Demarco. If this is legit someone check on @CasualFan24…Northwest Kyler Miraglia heading to Hoover for his senior seasonView attachment 41487
It's legit, more than a football reason. I don't think it will hurt NW very much next year though, there's talent there that should be able to produce at a similar levelNorthwest Kyler Miraglia heading to Hoover for his senior seasonView attachment 41487
I am not a fan of this move...lol...he will make Hoover better...both at LB and for sure at running back. I can't imagine it'll be much of a difference, he's a solid D4 public school running back, but he had a ton of carries last year in a scheme that was pretty much run first and run only. I think the move has a lot more to do with the after sports are over part of the kid's life than trying to squeeze everything he can out of senior yearI am not a fan of this move...lol...he will make Hoover better...both at LB and for sure at running back. Hoover wasn't as strong at running back like they have been and he should be a step up from the kids they have...their good running back was a senior. He will also help them at LB...they are weak there alsoI can't imagine it'll be much of a difference, he's a solid D4 public school running back, but he had a ton of carries last year in a scheme that was pretty much run first and run only. Funny you would bring up '79 and the "fancy snap." That was my senior year of football. I graduated in 80. Anyway, what was funny about it was the last three weeks of the season, the coaching staff inserted a handful of new plays to shake things up including a play or two run out of the "newfangled and exotic" shotgun! We practiced those plays along with a screen and a draw (Which Manchester never ever ran in the past!). However, the only time we ever ran that shotgun play in an actual game (The second to the last game against Tusky Valley) we lined up and had a guy jump before the snap. It was never called again during that season. We also didn't run the screen or draw, either. When you said 79 and fancy snap I almost brought my iced tea through my nose because I laughed out loud. But it's a lot easier to puff out your chest, cash in those 25 points on the 'Chester Tuffness Card, light up a heater and yell FOOTBALL POSTS PLEASE.......
During the off-season.
I've got a football post: Coach Kevin Stacy will use the shotgun and all the old tuffs along the fence will complain about the "fancy snap" and "that's not what we did in '79."
