Ohio State Football 2024

I’m shocked this is only the second time Tennessee and Ohio State have ever played. Two storied programs, it’s a cool matchup
I saw the bowl game when PAINTING Manning was their QB... and the VOLS cheated... they wore extra LONG screw in CLEATS ( there were no molded cleats back then) it was a WET/Muddy field

I have been looking for but haven't found anything on it. Some sort of objective analysis on OSU Offense vs. Michigan's Defense. The Michigan D-line could handle themselves well without the aid of blitzing much. Was Michigan doing anything in the secondary with their coverages that wasn't on film much leading into the game? Was Smith being doubled a lot? I can't recall if there were many times when Michigan dropped 8 into coverages...

Michigan did have 5 losses, but 3 were to Oregon, Texas and Indiana. I think they laid an egg against Washington. Depending on the source, 3 teams in the top 8-9 of the polls. It was a bad loss, but to act like Michigan was like MAC school was naive by many Buckeye Fans. I never thought Michigan would win, but I did think the 3TD spread was very generous for OSU.
They should have lost to USC and Minnesota. They were extremely lucky to only have 5 losses.

The Vols (fb team) have never played a game in the state of Ohio.

These 2 teams had a home and home contract years ago and it was terminated.

I’m sure it wasn’t Bjork that made the call, but the buck stops with him. Using OSUFB for the presale code was moronic and allowed a lot of Tennessee fans to purchase tickets. Equally dumb was the decision to allow season ticket holders to buy 6 extra tickets, that were inevitably going to see 80% of them resold at significant increase.

You get the point. And you can't be happy about it. Over rated. Period./exclamation point!
Cant deny that when Ohio St has had some of the big games in bowls and cfp ,they were either not as prepared or overrated or both.. Goes back to Urban at Florida when he routed the great Tressel team with Troy Smith ... THen same thing when LSU dominated OSU ...those were Tressels worst games...Urb beat BAMA/Oregon ...and Day did hang a beatdown on CLemson in a covid season cfp semi then only to get smashed by BAMA ( who would have smashed anybody they played to be fair)...But Yes, Day has been given another shot to make amends ... I will say that the loss to Georgia was not a bad gameplan for DAY ... Some bad luck with HArrison taking that cheap shot that was clearly targeting or else OSU wins that .Georgia had no answer for Stroud to Harrison that night

Honestly if you are going to pretty much hang your hat on the Georgia game, that was joke to me from the beginning of announcing the 4 teams. IMHO, you do NOT make the 4 team playoffs when all of the listed happen: 1. you lose your LAST, not 1st, 2nd, 3rd... your LAST game of the year - AT HOME - by 22 points. That is NOT a playoff team. 2. You aren't a playoff team when you can't even win your 1/2 of the conference division. 3. You can't make the playoffs when you couldn't even make the playoff game for your own conference. I don't care how good they played vs. Georgia, it was an undeserving, second chance gift by the bias committee for the reasons I listed. Especially reason number 1.

They were soccer cleats, but they were only an eighth of an inch too long.
I'll have to check , i could have swore that they had screw in cleats... and can't remember the RB name for the VOLS he had a big game, ab=nd he wasn't sliding around like the buckeye players

Soccer cleats. Ohio State stole WR Joey Kent’s cleats from the locker room after the game as ‘proof’.

Cooper asked the refs about them before the game and they told him they did not have a ruler.

Historically Tennessee is overrated more often than Ohio State. Probably not the best SEC matchup for you to bring up the overrated moniker.

Ohio State has been ranked in the preseason 72 times and finished the year unranked 14 times.
Tennessee has been ranked in the preseason 44 times and finished the year unranked 13 times.

Also, Michigan was ranked 9th to start the year and have 5 losses. Talk about overrated. Probably best to sit this one out.
