Ohio State Football 2024

He didnt choke against Indiana and Penn St . He played pretty well against Oregon aside from the last play ( that was more on the coaches clock management ,not his fault totally). His bad game was vs Michigan
thats what I thought... but i think when you don't throw the ball ONCE to smith in the second half... might be the play calling...

I remember before the season getting bashed for only believing OSU had only one first round talent for the 2025 draft (Egbuka) and now Dave Biddle is reporting that Dane Brugler is saying OSU has 0 projected first round picks.

It’s ironic because I openly argued with Dave on Bucknuts on a few others being first rounders and of course he was wrong.

The Ohio State fanbase is so shook that the gubmint has to step in to protect them. Sad!

Oh heck yeah he did against Penn State. Pick 6 and goal line fumble kept that game way closer than it should have been. Also he missed Carnell on a wide open TD there in the 3rd quarter.

I give you props for listening to a true blue blood of OSU podcasts. Too many wannabe's flooding the market.

He was 16 of 24 for 182 2 TDs and an INT . Hardly choking . Choking was what he did vs Michigan. That fumble against Penn St happens all the time to QBS . Bad luck there.BUT ,I will give you he needs to eliminate the poorly timed INT"s as of late . Close to either goal line . If he does that vs Tennessee, OSU will get smoked

Howard doesn't choke, he just isn't very good. That's why they do so many short throws and most of his completions are manufactured throws because he doesn't have the talent throwing OR running to win a team a game on his own. That's why losing the two OL was so crucial. The team was supposed to be a 2019 reflection but are forced to be more 2021 without the QB

Hartline interviewed last yr as well for couple jobs if i remember correctly . He may be the coach in waiting at THE OSU once Day is gone .
I believe Hartline will have a great future as a head coach in college football, but he needs to learn his chops at G5 program first. Being a top notch recruiter and being a great WR coach does not make you ready for a HC job in a P4 conference.

As to WVU, good luck. They don't have the alumni or donor base to play the NIL game successfully .

I have been looking for but haven't found anything on it. Some sort of objective analysis on OSU Offense vs. Michigan's Defense. The Michigan D-line could handle themselves well without the aid of blitzing much. Was Michigan doing anything in the secondary with their coverages that wasn't on film much leading into the game? Was Smith being doubled a lot? I can't recall if there were many times when Michigan dropped 8 into coverages...

Michigan did have 5 losses, but 3 were to Oregon, Texas and Indiana. I think they laid an egg against Washington. Depending on the source, 3 teams in the top 8-9 of the polls. It was a bad loss, but to act like Michigan was like MAC school was naive by many Buckeye Fans. I never thought Michigan would win, but I did think the 3TD spread was very generous for OSU.

Ohio State is 1-13 vs the SEC in Bowl Games. The worst record in College Football History against the SEC. Ryan Day is 0-3 vs the SEC. That says it all.
Curious when you’ll start giving your 2 cents in the playoff like you claimed earlier in this thread.

No. I was watching a film study and they mentioned the defense wasn’t even similar to what Jesse Minter ran with a lot of disguised coverages. It was a pretty basic defense, with a lot of 4-2-5 looks. They did bracket Smith with a single high safety on his side a lot, though.
