There is a reality that competitve balance in the GCC is down this season, absolutley. However, Mentor did take many of their games this season into a running clock game either by the start of third or certainly before the fourth quarter. Further, in these games the varsity players were all off the field and other players were given the opportunity to get some experience. Had the varsity players stayed in the scores that resulted would have been extremely one sided.
In my opinion, winning in a down conference is one thing, but absolute dominance is another.
As others have said, playoffs are a clean slate and this Friday's game will be a battle. But, not sure people other than Mentor fans saw what was actually happening. In a few of those games, varsity could have left the field mid first quarter.
