Will they do that with Mentor still in the playoffs ? Usually all the staff that would run the game to host are usually parent volunteers, not sure who would run the game they will all be at the Mentor game.

All this talk about Mentor’s schedule is nonsense. 3 years ago we would have talked about how it was fine when Medina had Allar and Ignatius wasn’t a dumpster fire.
The running game is the difference with this Mentor team, and specifically with it not being just their QB.

I was wondering if that would be the venue because of location. But also would be somewhat surprising because teams still playing normally don't host neutral site games

Euclid makes the most sense but I thought they weren't hosting this year due to outside factors
They are in our league though and we played them there so who knows? Could be an exception
I could see Strongsville, Brunswick, Bedford or Euclid. We've played them in Akron even. They put it all over for some reason

We know that for sure ? That is where it was 2 years ago and I know they had the gunshot issue after that game where they were throwing kids in busses. I also know there were meetings mid season with GCC and OHSAA about them and determined they supported the school and no Reason to take action on home games.

I don't think that it's nonsense. If Team A has played state championship caliber teams and Team B hasn't, it's logical to believe that Team A will win. Team A has played equal or better teams than Team B all season. That doesn't mean that A will win; you still have to play the game. And Mentor could very well defeat Ed's. But I think that Ed's will win. Their schedule prepares them for these games
They only have a few options being in a conference. It’s not Mentor’s fault Ignatius has fallen off so much. I think most years prior to the last 2-3 most people would agree the Cats are a decent opponent.
But whatever we’ll see what happens.
Weird that Ignatius’ meatgrinder schedule (playing most of the teams you mentioned) prepared them for a lopsided loss to Mentor in round 1.
Not to mention that schedule resulted in 8-9 starters for Ignatius being out for the playoffs while a mostly healthy Mentor did just fine.

It's not enough to just play a challenging schedule. You have to win those games, too. But Ignatius played basically the same schedule last year as they did this year and beat Mentor two times.
Your opponents matter. That's what I'm trying to say

Mentor was an 5 seed last year. Just not great
They are #1 and 13-0 this season. Team isn't the same. You can be very good or great despite a schedule too. I highlighted how Mentor has zero to be ashamed of with our scheduling over the years.
This narrative is yappi created and ill informed. If you are good, you are good. The uneducated also give us zero credit for the week 2 Ignatius game. They were a different team then
All week we had to hear about the McKinley schedule. They lost all their big games. The Fed is nothing special
Sometimes you are a quality team and your league falls off. It happens. GCC is a very good all sports league unlike the Senate for example. We can't help if football falls off in a given year. Preseason everyone was picking Heights , Medina and fricken shaker on here.
When the game was close and Mentor had to man up, they broke McKinley's will after busting them up on both sides.

McKinley +18… You taking action on that? I don’t believe a tougher schedule is the end all be all like some believe. But I do believe it plays a small part, but at the end of the day it comes down to the young men making plays and the coaches putting the kids in a position to execute and be productive. I think I have a good idea why you don’t care who played the tougher schedule. But I’ll give you action on McK +18 ALL DAY!

McKinley broke McKinley also. Credit is not all Mentor’s as proven in the first half.
Forcing a Card 3& out after halftime I could not believe how lucky the Pups were at that point.
I’m disappointed in the coaching at McKinley not playing their best athletes and not adjusting.

Mentor’s defense was better last year than this year. Strong linebacker play (like this year), solid but not elite up front (like this year), but the difference in last year was the elite play of a lot of All-Ohio safeties (Shelley and Markowski).
And I think Mentor’s defense was better in 2006, 2011, 2013, and 2019 just to name a few. But this defense is playing better and I’m pleased with their improvement as the season has progressed. Shutouts in Weeks 12 and 13 are very impressive feats.
