Jeff Ross of Lakota went 7'0" in 1979 not 1974 at the district.
Brian Bruner of Mt. Healthy high jumped 6'9" at the Colerain Invitational in 1981. He should be tied with the others at 6'9".
Steve Esterkamp won the Princeton Invitational at 6'9" in 1999.
Eric Higgins - District - 1991 - 7'0"
Mike Whitehead - Regional - 1st - 1975 - 6'9"
Derrick Childs - State - 1st - 1989 - 7'0"
Jason Kimble - State - 1991 - 2nd - 6'10"
Aaron Hurst - State - 1997 - 3rd - 6'9"

You have Eric Seitz down twice. We are only using a career best. Take out the 1995 for Seitz. Othewise, Steve Padget would be on the 3200 meters list at least five times. I don't think we want that.

Ok good I was going to ask you guys about seitz. He did it in seperate years so I was wondering if we wanted to count both years. I'm waiting for the shot put so I can say Moe is the shot put school, haha.

You can't count anything in the 300 hurdles before 1987. That's when the height was changed to 36". It was called the lows before 1987. Now it's called the intermediate hurdles.

Oh man I totally just did not think about that. Hmmmm that means we oughta go back through our records at Moe and see who has run the best time after 87.

4x8 has been totally finalized. I just need a couple of meets for the pole vault and high jump. Otherwise any corrections are welcome of course, and any more state champs in the high jump would be nice too.

When I started doing the lists for La Salle back in 1995, I did like you did and put a guy's best for each year if it made the list. Events like the 1600 would have guys like Bader down three times since he ran his 4:13 as a sophomore. It was pointed out to me that college lists like those at Miami University only put down a guy's career best. That's when I went to only one mark per inidvidual.

There are your 10 guys for the high jump. I just need some meets now on these guys if at all possible and any other guy who has cleared 6' 9".

Ryan Fitzpatric won the regional in 1998 with his 6'11¼"
Seitz did not do his 6'9" at the district, regional or state in 1994 or 1995.

I seem to recal that Novak did his mark at the Anderson Invitational, but I can't swear to it.

Here's the best I could get from my results. I'm sure Lancermania can assist on this one.

Eric Seitz, Fairfield, 6' 9", 1994 & 95
Aaron Hurst, Lakota, 6' 9", 1997

Eric Seitz did make first team all city in 1994, but in 1995 sophomore Aaron Hurst was first team all city in the high jump.
I don't see anything on Seitz in 1995. Are you sure he was still around then or did he graduate in 1994. He is not on any honor roll list in 1995.

The Enquirer indicates Roberson popped a 24' 3" in 1978 around the time of the district meet. Can someone corroborate? I only have results for the other district. Any additions or corrections are much appreciated.

Just because a mark is on an honor roll list, I don't think we should use it. As you well know from last year when you maintained the honor roll yourself, coaches have been known to fudge on the marks. Some coaches were submitting relay splits for open events and indoor marks for the outdoor lists. I have also found coaches who submit the time they got on their athletes in the stands instead of the official time to the honor roll list. It's a prestige thing for the schools and coaches who fudge on the marks submitted.

I want our top ten to be documented marks that we can find from meet results. I just don't want to include honor roll marks without supporting documentation, sort of like Eric Miller's 1:53 which no one can find.

I found it. Clinton Davis did win state in 1987 with a 37.60
He also won in 1988 with a 37.35.
Calvin Bostic of Forest Park also won in 1989 with a 38.53
Ian Fulton of Wyoming was second in DIII in 1992 with a 38.65
I have updated the 300 to include these marks.
Forest Park has now dethroned Milford as the 300 hurdle school.

The long jump was called the .Broad Jump up until 1965. Anyone wonder why it was changed.

I have printed evidence from the Suday, May 14, 1978 issue of Our Times that Jeff Roberson of Colerain went 24'3" at the "AAA" Oxford Sectional meet at Princeton.

Charles Pruitt - 23'1¾ - Mt. Healthy - State 2nd - 1981
Bill Franklin - 23'10" - 1985 - Princeton - State - 2nd
Jeff Hill - 23'2" - 1990 - Mt. Healthy - State - 3rd
first name on Bouldin is Robert.
Eric Thurman - 23'4¾ - 1989 - Princeton - Regional - 3rd
Dontai Colvin - 23'¾" - 1993 - Hughes - Regional - 2nd
Dusty Siegel - 23'3" - 1987 - Mariemont - State - 1st
Mondale Hackett - 23'7" - 1985 - Colerain Invitational - 1st

Thanks...I guess it wasn't quite as close as I remembered it to be.

It was a close race all right. I was there. Hoeffer and Thomas came out of the last turn together. Hoeffer didn't pull away until about 50 meters to go. He won going away. You have to remember that Thomas ran the race of his life in the 1600 in the same meet running a 4:13.3 which was one of the fastest miles ever run in Cincinnati. Hoeffer was running his first race of the day.

email him back that you are with yappi.com a high school website that has a track forum and that you are collaborating with an anderson grad:eek:

Does Andy read Yappi? I told him who I was in an email and what the purpose of the information was. He should remember me from my long time association with track and field in Cincinnati. I was the second track official licensed in Cincinnati back in the early 1970's when the state first started requiring at least one OHSAA certified official at a track meet. In fact I taught a class at Reading high school with about 30 high school coaches to get them certified as track officials. It was like a ten hour class over three weeks. I also talked to him about what Kurt Francis was doing with a top 25 at the 1995 summer track series at Anderson. Anderson hosted an all comers track series on Tuesday nights. I also recall that Wolf had Anderson's top performance posted near the entrance to the track.
