What are you watching?

Switching between the NCAA first four games, Survivor (only watch like the last half hour, first hour is just folks talking and usually a story on how a player "overcame adversity" to make it on the show), and Abott Elementary. Think this was the season finale(?) for Abbott and it had a doozy of an ending.

Just realized that having gotten rid of YouTube TV and Paramount+, I don’t even have a way to watch March Madness this year and I’m OK with that.
No antenna?

First thing I did before I cut cable was get an antenna. At least will get the CBS games. I do have Paramount+ right now. But yeah, it's a trade off. And surprised that these broadcasters don't realize letting us learn we don't really need to 'see everything' is something they should have tried to avoid before overpricing cable.

The latest season of "Reacher" on Prime. Dumb as a rock but there is something so very likable about this show. If you enjoyed the first couple of seasons you'll like this one.
I really liked the first 2 seasons, but for some reason, this season isn't doing it for me. The show in general is pretty over the top unbelievable, but this year it seems even worse. And the female DEA agent is not a great character (with a horrendous accent).

I am looking forward to the inevitable fight in the finale that I assume Reacher will have with Paulie. That should be fun.

Agree about the DEI agent- that accent! And yea this is by far the most over the top season. Alien invaders would have been just as plausible and fun.

Any chance they will do an American version of Adolescence? I couldn't understand what they were saying most of time.

The Pitt: the "white man bad" is a blatant bad joke. If you can ignore that, still good. Vids floating around of the actors sampling and rating hospital food are funny.

Stumbled into a Ken Burns Documentary on PBS. The first motor car trip across the US in 1903. SF to NYC. Took 63 days. I found it interesting. Crazy how few passable routes existed (especially till about StLouis) going East. Sorry can’t remember the title of the broadcast.

Edit: Ken Burns' documentary, "Horatio's Drive: America's First Road Trip," chronicles the 1903 transcontinental automobile journey of Dr. Horatio Nelson

The limited series "House of David" on Prime. Very good adaption of the biblical story. Good production values and a bit of a bite to one of the Old Testaments most famous tales.
nice rec. Only just finished ep one. Already can see, very clear story telling without getting too linear and boring. Rare for a biblical show or any show with character names that are hard to memorize and ethnic actors that those not used to that ethnicity, might find hard to distinguish.

Scene between Samual and Saul was so well done.

AI will destroy humanity, but I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time

Enjoying the Daredevil reboot/return. I just hope they keep it (relatively) grounded without bringing in the whole Marvel universe.

I don’t like the superhero stuff, the appeal of Daredevil & Punisher (to me) is that they don’t have superhero powers.

I like both the entire marvel universe but hear what you're saying. Even though daredevil has some superpower type senses. Did you watch the original?

I think they will have some level of crossover. Some characters have already been mentioned and in the comics I believe be and spiderman are pretty tight.

I have always like the grittiness of both the original and this new one.

Yes DareDevil was already in the last Spider-Man movie and also rumored to be in the next one.

I thought his hyped up senses were from his training under Scott Glenn’s character. I know there’s been references to the larger Marvel universe, but it hasn’t directly impacted the plot.

I’m also glad they’re finally allowed to drop the F-bomb. It was always dumb that Kingpin could crush a guy’s head in a car door or The Punisher could drag jigsaw’s face across a busted mirror, but the F word was a bridge too far.

Cant remember I just know his heightened senses are almost superpower like.

They didn't drop the f bomb in the original? I thought they did. I know they had some pretty racy scenes with Luke cage and Jessica Jones.

Nope. Not even in the Punisher when he was crushing the S1 mani villain’s eyes into his face or beating a Russian mobster to death with a gym plate.

They are, in fact, super powers.

The radioactive spill that made him blind as a kid is also what enhanced his other four senses.
