Western Buckeye League Playoff Picks & Discussion Thread

65 pass-71 rush-136 total for Defiance, Zipfel is an efficient 8-12 with a TD and interception but as usual isn't throwing it downfield much. Pretty frustrating when there are 2 or 3 guys coming for a sack and the receiver magically still has 2 guys covering him.
54 pass-175 rush-229 total for Benedctine. 155 yards on just 13 carries for Maloney - sounds like this game is going like last week when Columbian scored in the first half and Benedictine dominated the rest of the game and Maloney had like 350 yards.
 
Defiance insists on continuing to try these short passes to the RB out of the back field that go nowhere. And then a holding call ruins a drive. Zipfel doesn’t have time to throw it anywhere though really, whatever. Benedictine’s first second half drive starts from midfield and I’m about ready to call it ballgame.
 
Ah, there it is. Benedictine throws a pass toward the sideline, one yard past the line of scrimmage where no defenders are even close, one diving defender misses and no others are even on the screen. 21-6, ballgame. Just keep it respectable.
 
Damn, O-G 7-6 at half? I thought I saw it was 7-7 earlier. SM still down 14-7 late in the 3rd. Bath now up 17-14 halfway through the 3rd. I am fighting through absolutely sh1tty WiFi by the way.

hottttt damn. Got the stream back on just in time to see SM made a short FG with 9 seconds left to go up 16-14.
 
SM knocks off undefeated Tippecanoe 16-14. Plays London next week. Wapak rolled over Wilmington 48-12. Plays Bellbrook next week.

It will depend on how this thing starts. If SM gets the long ground drives and finishes them, and manages to get a turnover, bounce of the ball, what have you, we have a ball game. If Tipp scores early and often it will be very hard for SM to win. Not impossible, but Wapak took advantage of some early SM coverage busts and didn't make any mistakes. Hard to win like that. I'd imagine it's 50% it goes something like the Wapak game, with Tipp up 10-21 most of the 2nd half, and 50% it goes like the SM games against Perkins, the really good recent Van Wert teams, where it's anybody's game.

Definitely agree on both takes…

If Moyer doesn’t go that’s obviously a blow when you lose your starting QB (especially one of that caliber), but feel they find a way to gut it out with the other pieces and stingy defense

St Marys has to believe they have a chance no matter what happens in a given game at this point

I’m just gonna go with the favorites – Wapak and London. Even if Wapak’s QB is out. It’s got to be Wapak’s year one of these times. I feel like St. Marys’ fortune will run out at some point. Maybe me picking it to lose will work the opposite...
 
We had seven people make picks all three weeks of the playoffs:
GoRiders!!, MAC_CrazyFan, Nash, StateChampion2012, & tucson all went 11-3, TiGgEr3 went 10-4, and Moonlight SOS went 9-5.
Others: Stirred Not Shaken was 11-1, Clase8821 9-3, PantherSkin 8-4, ctown14 and 933York 6-1, and Just and LICKING COUNTY FAN 5-2.

Combined with the regular season, I won’t add up the percentages but here they are, of people who actually made playoff predictions:
51-18: Nash & tucson
50-17: PantherSkin
49-15: MAC_CrazyFan
49-20: StateChampion2012
44-18: Clase8821
43-19: 933York & ctown14
42-20: Stirred Not Shaken
40-22: LICKING COUNTY FAN
39-15: GoRiders!!
30-24: TiGgEr3 (Moonlight SOS & Just did not make regular season predictions)
