Talk around coilimbus is firing of Day if he loses. Again.

So...Hartline? Vrabel? Fickell?
Yup. The talk is quite real. 3 in a row to Michigan and 1-6 vs. top 5 teams. Better is not only expected...it's required.
Day's Days are now numbered. His only chance is to sneak in the back door of the playoffs and somehow win the thing. Won't happen, but that's what he's now facing. Vrabel or Fickell. I vote Vrabel for now.

Only columbus radio I listen to is that Man and Bone show on the Fan and I was surprised when they bring it up that they feel Days job is on the line. Didn't realize his record is that bad, 1-5, vs top 5 teams now?

I think they keep him ..at least until they feel Hartline is ready.

Vrabel...non starter.

Maybe you don't know the rules, maybe you are blind, maybe you are an idiot, but everyone except for you and Michigan fans are in agreeance that it was a borderline call at best that could have gone either way and was not so clear cut a TD for Michigan. And most think it was an interception, this is also what 3 seperate rules analysts for ESPN/ABC, NBC & CBS thought when they actually talked about the call on each respective broadcast. Of course it was already mentioned the Fox Rules Analyst also thought the call was 100% wrong.
Neither.
I know what I say. I don't have an agenda to push. I don't need clicks on a website. I don't need views on YouTube. I don't need subscribers to my myspace page.

The major media outlets can either tell it how it was.....a TD, and no one cares or pander to the gullible to drive traffic and pad their bank accounts.

It's a TD last year. It's a touchdown today. It'll be a touchdown tomorrow and in ten yrs it will be a touchdown.

Those * major media outlets* love sheep such as yourself.

@Thavoice But what does a 77 year old retired NCAA D-I official have to gain by saying the call was 100% wrong. He is a Volunteers fan by the way and does not care about Ohio State or Michigan. I would think a former D-I NCAA official would know better than you whether it was the correct call.

Baaaaaaaaaaa.

It was a TD catch.
It was the right call.

Get over it.

It was the right call.
Get over it.
If it was the right call then why does no one agree it was definitely the right call except for Michigan fans?
I just talked to one of my friends from Florida who is a Hurricanes fan and hates Ohio State, and is presently a D-III NCAA official also thinks they blew the call. He thinks it is hilarious and is glad they lost but he agrees it should have been a touchback.

Cracking up at anyone mentioning Vrabel. Ignore his decline in success, the man hates recruiting. That’s why he left for the NFL in the first place.
Ya don't think he'd like to kiss rhe arses of 17-18 yr olld.punks and their families?

Would be nice tho to only have a few games on your schedule able to beat you.

OK boomer.

So you have friends who are clueless.

Got it.

Birds of a feather......

I also did my own questioning....all 3 of my dogs agreed...TD, as did the old man wearing Michigan gear when I was out burning leaves.

My peeps. > your peeps.

They’re not firing Day. Lol. Lots of people in their feels right now.
I'm not proposing they should...only that that's the talk. I will agree that it's becoming a "fair" conversation though. The Ohio faithful will never again accept a decade of losing to that team up north. Especially against an As hole like Harbaugh and in an era where Michigan as a sports community is in a spiraling decline and Columbus is in a revitalized growth pattern. Harbaugh has/is outperforming Day. Plain as Day. It is what it is. Patience now is way thinner than it was in the 90's. For what it's worth, I say give any new coach at least 5 years...maybe longer. But I'm patient. Most others aren't.

Volunteer Nation has hated UM when Woodson beat out Manning for the Heisman

Trust me, OSU does not want Vrabel. The coaching would be worse under him than Ryan. Everything else you said I agree with

I'm 100% for Luke Fickell...He just got to Wisconsin though and that is NOT going to happen. 2 years down the road, maybe. I say give Day another year. I like him. But...time is not on his side. The only reason I support Vrabel is that he is a bigger arse hol than Harbaugh, but he's "our" arse hol! :) Also, for what it's worth, I do not fault the Buckeyes so much on this loss. They played hard and they had several close plays that went the wrong way. I think they were slightly the better team, yet came up short. The loss that was inexcusable was last year. They were outcoached, outperformed and outplayed across-the-board...and it was at "our" place. And we had an NFL QB. That would be where my beef lies the deepest...

Big difference between NFL and college coaching lifestyles. Somebody like Vrabel is probably going to have zero interest in kissing the arses of 16 and 17 year old kids. College football is nonstop with the recruiting calendar, but the week to week grind of the NFL season is far more grueling IMO...not to mention having far more fluid job security, or lack thereof.

Believe I've said this before, but whether for better or for worse I'd view any theoretical Vrabel deal as a 2-for-1. It would probably be a lock he'd be bringing his defensive coordinator, Pickerington native Shane Bowen, with him. GA'd at Ohio State primarily working with Vrabel, and has been with him in the NFL since 2016. If he wanted to coach again, Kerry Coombs would probably also be back in the saddle with DBs/special teams.

I don't think Fickell just getting that job is an impediment to him theoretically becoming Ohio State's coach if they chose to fire Day in the next year or two.

The buyout of his contract with Wisconsin should he want to take another job is roughly equal to one year's salary, $8 million, on his deal. That number drops to about $5 million beginning in 2027. That's chump change if Ohio State wants to bring him home down the road.

To all the Ohio fans who are disappointed by today's outcome and feel cheated, infuriated, and letdown by the system, my advice to you is to travel.

Travel to Europe. Travel to Asia. Travel to Africa. There is a world beyond your one-stoplight town and Dollywood and Sarasota.

Meet new people. Gain new perspectives. The world laughs at you but there is a way to be good again.
First, no rational person wants to go to any of those $hitholes.

Second, why would Bobcat fans feel cheated or infuriated?

I am old enough to remember when Nebraska thought that Frank Solich didn’t win enough ”big games” and fired him … they have been a dumpster fire ever since … I think they are on their 5th coach since him … they would be thrilled to have the success he had now … be careful what you wish for … 11-1 is pretty good for a ”bad” season
It's a disaster of a season.

Lose The Game, no Big Ten title, no Playoff, whatever bowl game they get stuck in is a glorified scrimmage.

You gotta love it. A couple days ago I inquired with Ohio State fans here about the one-year-ago sentiment that Day would be fired if he lost three in a row to Michigan. I was roundly told that extenuating circumstances made that a laughable thought. Now there are three “Fire Ryan Day” threads. As always, AEW is one (well, let’s be honest, more than one) step ahead of the rest of the board.
And yet ND still can't beat him.
