Gus sucks at everything. His energy is too high, the best play by play announcers have balance and he doesn’t. Speaking of who else sucks, Paul Keels. Great voice and you always know what’s going on but that guy isn’t an Ohio State fan and nobody will ever convince me otherwise. OSU should have kept Terry Smith over Keels. Keels should go find work for some pro sports team and not Ohio State.

Best two radio/TV play by play guys are the Brennamans. Marty is the GOAT for radio and Thom is the best I’ve heard on a TV broadcast.

This is true. Imagine wasting time on this nonsense on a beautiful weekend afternoon when both of Ohio’s MLB teams were in action and The Masters was on. Hopefully the face-painters and trained circus seals enjoyed themselves.

Yes a beautiful weekend afternoon and you want to sit on your butt and watch the boob tube. The Ohio State spring game was also on National TV. Another thing you can watch in your mom's basement.

I just said that the Brennamans were the GOATs so obviously everyone does not suck.

There’s a difference between being a national TV broadcaster and a local radio broadcaster. National TV guys have to be or at least try to be unbiased. Local radio guys for the most part are fans of their teams, obviously there are exceptions but for a place like Ohio State that is going to be noticed.

Just listen to Keels speak, he really couldn’t care less if OSU wins or loses it’s just a job to him. Ron Stokes and Jim Lacey are both super Buckeyes but Ron Stokes should be replaced too. He doesn’t provide much of any insight into the game of basketball

And to top it off people went there paying money to watch an underachieving program. All they do under Ryan is lose to Michigan and the SEC.

Did it beat out the ratings for Flex Tape and Sham-Wow infomercials and whatever other paid programming was on local TV? It wasn’t even relevant enough to be on TV at the Ohio sports bar I was at.

I don't know. I was outside getting some exercise and enjoying OSU spring game with 80,000 like minded OSU fans.
What kind of ratings did the baseball games get? I mean a 162 game season. Must watch tv? Hardly. You do you! Spend much time on your eye makeup?

My position is that spring football, aside from the NFL Draft event itself, is irrelevant to normal humans, regardless of team.

Just like specialization into playing a sport year-round is damaging for kids (e.g. pitchers’ arms), ardently following the same team/sport 24/7/365 is equally damaging to fans’ brains. Which is why I compared spring game attendees to trained circus seals whose brains have been manipulated into acting in an abnormal manner.

Trust me, I don’t have any desire to get into the weeds of Ohio State staffing decisions, transfer portal targets, etc., nor even pay much attention to Ohio State basketball at all. I’m not Spartacus, which I think is clear to everyone, though I do find him to be generally reasonable and well meaning albeit with an overly negative viewpoint on occasion. He’s one of the better OSU posters, I’d say.

It's OSU first and Big Ten second so Michigan had to be covered and YES. We absolutely wanted Michigan to win, Big Ten being better means OSU gets better. OSU wins some big games and they will get similar coverage

I quit following your podcast after your Michigan love fest podcast. It is one thing to be fair and impartial. It is another thing to be a Michigan cheerleader. Michigan Victors podcast was anything but unbiased.

And if/when Michigan get's hammered for two level one violations are you going to cheer the black eye Michigan gives the Big Ten? You were ok with Penn State when they got nailed? Last time I looked they were part of the Big Ten when that went down.
