Ohio State Football 2024

So you could tell from watching TV :) OK. I have season tickets, some games louder than others. The early games are usually quiet, decent big ten and non conference opponents it gets loud. Night games, top 10 games and Michigan games it is extremely loud.

Students get close to 20K tickets. Majority sit in the Open end end zone with the rest in the closed end end zone. The student sections are typically empty by end of 3rd qtr unless it is a big game.

Ohio Stadium does not have a problem with noise or fan participation. Again was not much to cheer for vs Nebraska offensively outside of the scores. The defense had full crowd support on every 3rd down. Blowouts and early season games sure the stadium is never that loud.

Buy a ticket and judge for yourself plus you can go in a make some noise if you want it louder.
That is why I started with: "I only watched on FOX and the atmosphere seemed terrible, on TV at least. "

and ended with: "All and all, the Buckeye fans were not impressive last week from a TV perspective."

If the actual game day in attendance experience was different, then I defer to you. I thought I qualified my thoughts clearly.

I was about to post a tumbleweed video in this thread until IVC posted last night.

You guys nervous and in hiding in anticipation of loss #2?

This feels like the biggest game to date in terms of Ryan Day’s tenure. I feel like Ohio State pulls out a squeaker but wouldn’t be surprised either way.

The most overrated game of the year. The
most overrated series of the last 30 years.

Two teams with inflated rankings, always Penn State’s highest rank until they disappear until mediocrity right outside the top 10, only to get an invite to a bowl game to get smashed by an SEC team.

OSU wins with ease. Let’s not forget Penn State could barely handle BG, USC, and a bad Wisconsin team (that Alabama mauled)

OSU 35-24, people back off Day for a bit. Then the holidays come around when OSU of the new starts getting exposed.

Agree to all, which is crazy- Penn State is #3 and best win is a squeaker against a very poor USC team, alas, they are undefeated.

I'm generally Mr Optimism, but I don't see how they can get out of there with a win with their OL issues. If those issues remain (and I don't see how they fix that mess in 1 week) Ohio St will need ST and defensive scores.

Chip needs to scheme up something brilliant to run the ball. If they can't run effectively, they will have to try throwing to run.

But however they do it, if they get a win over there, it will have massive implications for the rest of the season.

If Jeremiah Smith doesn't have a dozen touches today, I'm going to go over to the dark side and join Sparticus in the Sea of Cynical Negativism. :)

Chip Kelly hire and Quinshon Judkins buy will always puzzle me. Money should’ve went into getting line depth, but what do I know. I’m just a dope on Yappi!

We are in year 13 of the Meyer Day continuum . Emphasis on offense and skill. The off-season moves continues to reflect that. Day is evolving , but the transformation will not be overnight.

They went after some portal O linemen and whiffed. Once that happened, they looked at what they had and correctly assessed they could put 5 guys out there that could get the job done, and they were doing well, even exceeding my expectations - until Simmons went down.

They also had to know they needed to develop some guys, particularly at tackle. That did not happen and now they have this beautiful race car that has an engine with a couple cylinders misfiring. All the OL recruiting failures and lack of development is coming back to haunt them.

There is some kind of approach that equates to getting the best out of a bad situation. I really hope Day/Kelley/Frye found that this past week, but I have serious doubts about whether it is even possible to solve a problem of that nature in that time frame.

Agreed. Not an exciting game in the least in regards to the national scale

I could just be pessimistic because we lost 2 dogs to cancer in last 2 months, but, my gut just feels very uneasy and pessimistic about this game. Hope I'm wrong. Need some positive relief

Michigan quarterback Jack Tuttle announced Monday that he is medically retiring from football.

Tuttle, a seventh-year senior, played in two games for the Wolverines this season, with one start.

During the offseason, Tuttle underwent surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing arm. Tuttle said the arm "didn't fully recover" and that he continued to have "ongoing issues" with it.

Tuttle also said he recently suffered the fifth concussion of his career. He said that "brought forth the painful truth: that I need to start prioritizing my health."
Same with NC State's QB.

On Oct. 23, North Carolina State quarterback Grayson McCall announced on Instagram that he would retire from the sport after being carted off the field in an Oct. 5 game that saw him lose his helmet in a hit. "As you all know I have battled injuries my whole career, but this is one that I cannot come back from. - ABC News

Commercial over, back to the game.

Held Penn State to a FG. Good omen?
