Ohio State Football 2024

Thank you. People that didn't play football don't realize how bad it is to move your LG to LT in game and put the backup in. It's why we couldn't get yardage with counters, on the fly against a good D we had a whole side of the line we had to cobble it together. Losing Simmons was pretty brutal against Oregon, I just hope we can stop the bleeding here. Folks can hate on coaches and players all they want, a banged up O-Line is a tough one to overcome
Agree, but Ohio States O line was avg at best all of last yr as well. People forget about that too. They took their foot off the gas or maybe were just not recruiting good enough for o line 3-4 yrs in arow now and its catching up with them . OSU should have 10 O line man on that roster that can play at a high level . No excuses . They just do not have that depth nor have they developed good enough. O line coach s seat should be hot but Day and him are butt budies

I know I am in the minority on this, but OSU had more total yds. and pts. vs TCUN than UW or the great nick saban tide. How did the Bucks do that with an avg. o-line.

yes you are in the minority. OSU s o line underperformed by all measures.just because a team gains yards doesnt meen a certain group is performing the way they should .

OSU doesn't have 1 loss because of the o-line it is because of the defense. Against Oregon OSU had almost 500 yds. of offense 31 pts. and was driving for a go-ahead TD when JS was called for OPI, I guess the Bucks accumulated all those pts. and yds. due to avg. line play. How did all these current OSU lineman end up in the NFL if they sucked in college so bad.

I get what you're saying but in today's transfer world to be frank there's just more "holes" in lineups at a school like Ohio State. It's created quite a bit of parity compared to what we were seeing even 5 years ago. Look at Indiana, they were dreadful at 3-9 last season. They bring in a new coach who imports a ton of players from James Madison and they're one of the best teams in the country and at worst will likely be 10-2.

TP is to college football what FA is to the NFL with out the cap.

I was at the game, I thought the atmosphere was fine. Fans were up and screaming every defensive third down.
Aside from that they did not give us many chances to cheer the offense.

I only watched on FOX and the atmosphere seemed terrible, on TV at least. I made a comment to my friend about it while watching the game and he agreed. It was more like a Michigan crowd with people sitting on their hands. Penn State and Oregon are tops in the BIG for game day, in stadium raucousness. Wisconsin and Iowa seem to be better than Ohio State right now for game day loudness. BTW, Oregon's stadium is much smaller than Ohio State's.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but Penn State and Oregon allow many more students into games than Ohio State and pretty much keep all the students together. Ohio State wants to maximize the high price ticket sales, so a middle age and up crowd is more prevalent.

On a side note, the broadcast volume of FOX games is much lower than ABC, ESPN, NBC, CBS, etc. I have to turn the volume way up when I flip to a FOX game. I don't know if anyone else has noticed that.

All and all, the Buckeye fans were not impressive last week from a TV perspective.

Its a unit , not just one player ..AND if Ohio State has such a great O line ,then why did ONE ,just ONE injury in Pregon game to Simmons( who wasnt great anyeay) derail the whole line ??wake up junior ,i was digramming oline plays b4 u were p eein yellow son.yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i am THE DIAMOND , you are just the velvet

so your telling me a few transfers from James Madison is why Indiana looks better than OSU this season?????

They were playing unranked Nebraska. It wouldn't be any different anywhere else.

Yeah, makes perfect sense that 50,000 people could make more noise than 105,000. I mean they tell us it's the loudest, so it must be true, right?
Man, I’m not going to argue about this, but the only traditional Big Ten stadium typically cited among the loudest in the country is Penn State. Ohio State and Michigan might have huge capacities, but they also seem to have a lot of old geezers who sit on their hands and don’t make noise. Notre Dame has the same issue.

Stadiums noted for their loudness include:
LSU
Oregon
Washington
Tennessee
Auburn
Texas A&M
Penn State
Oklahoma State
Utah
South Carolina
Clemson

The fact that Stirred’s article had Army and the LA Coliseum as among the loudest stadiums in the country is immediately disqualifying and should tell you that list was compiled by a clown. That list having OSU as the loudest in the country when Ohio State’s own fanbase complains about it not being loud is hilarious.

All completely subjective. Logically A wide flat bowl like Michigan or the Rose Bowl, would be less likely to hold sound in, unlike Ohio Stadium or Penn State where it is a lot more vertical.

So you could tell from watching TV :) OK. I have season tickets, some games louder than others. The early games are usually quiet, decent big ten and non conference opponents it gets loud. Night games, top 10 games and Michigan games it is extremely loud.

Students get close to 20K tickets. Majority sit in the Open end end zone with the rest in the closed end end zone. The student sections are typically empty by end of 3rd qtr unless it is a big game.

Ohio Stadium does not have a problem with noise or fan participation. Again was not much to cheer for vs Nebraska offensively outside of the scores. The defense had full crowd support on every 3rd down. Blowouts and early season games sure the stadium is never that loud.

Buy a ticket and judge for yourself plus you can go in a make some noise if you want it louder.

Michigan quarterback Jack Tuttle announced Monday that he is medically retiring from football.

Tuttle, a seventh-year senior, played in two games for the Wolverines this season, with one start.

During the offseason, Tuttle underwent surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing arm. Tuttle said the arm "didn't fully recover" and that he continued to have "ongoing issues" with it.

Tuttle also said he recently suffered the fifth concussion of his career. He said that "brought forth the painful truth: that I need to start prioritizing my health."
