1) You're saying they, currently, are THE top program. In other words nobody else is better than second. And that that assertion is beyond questioning and anybody who does so is foolish. That's sick.
2) I don't give a s**t about per capita when the size and population is so small. Hawaii as a state is quite simply not a football powerhouse. This is ridiculous.
3) Are you suggesting Hawaii really would not have embarrassed itself against Georgia but the location of the game made the difference? Maybe try watching the game at some point. I suppose the use of 'podunk' is an attempt to marginalize those teams? I didn't say that I use the flawed logic you refer to with the LSU-OSU thing. I simply pointed out that we have no way to know if St. Louis would fare any better vs. a national elite than UH did vs. Georgia. After all, Hawaii was unbeaten and revered in the WAC. (And I wasn't aware that Athens, GA is 5 miles from New Orleans, LA.)
I suppose the only way for me to not make a fool of myself is to take everything back with something to the effect of " Consumerman is not sick. DLS is/was and will always be the unquestioned best team in the country. DLS really beat Centennial 54-6, but Halloween goblins invaded the Home Depot Center and skewed the game. DLS would have beaten Northwestern 52-2 this year, and that's with the backups playing the second half. No other team can claim to be the equal of DLS. The NFL playoffs are actually only held as a showcase for the greateness that is DLS football. And consumerman is not a sick, myopically biased homer for all things California. Thanks"
