JD Bosco Visiting DLS in 08???

I never said you could defintively evaulate them-or any other team-against those from other states. The primary issue in all of this is the lack of information-i.e.-comparative results-available in prep football. Which is significant because it makes blanket statements like yours about DLS being the #1 team/program/whatever in the nation utter fluff.

In the case of St. Louis its more important to provide some decent evidence because they come from a state that typically produces very little talent relative to other states. Who's to say St. Louis' best teams would have fared any better against the nationally elite than the Univeristy of Hawaii's best team against one of the nation's elite (Georgia)?

wow

can you be more wrong on more things in such a short post??

1) the saying that DLS is the #1 program in the country is nothing but fluff puts you in with the less than 5% of the people who would consider that

2) A USA Today 2004 article practically says they produce more top college players PER CAPITA than any other state is in DIRECT disagreement with your statement, I will take the USA Today over you

3) so Georgia won a COLLEGE Bowl Game about 5 miles from home while Hawaii traveled 5000 miles and that determines if a high school program is any good? Are you serious? I guess any little podunk Louisiana team (are all they all podunk) would beat ST X because LSU beat Ohio State .. is that the logic

wow you are making a fool of yourself

And here comes the Consumerman Trinity fake punt reference...

Sorry, man.

Which is a worst call.

Fake punt in you own territory late in the game.

or

Sending your backup QB under center when you never go under center to spike the ball on the 10 w/ time running out when you have a time out.

or

You have 4th and 2(or was it 3) on about the ten, not using your big back who has been money all night, nor your first string running back, nor your running QB, but the back up running back and pitching it 3-4 yards backwards to get short yardage.

or

Instead of kicking the XP at the end of OT to send it to the next OT, trying for two and failing to make it.

All of these failed and cost their teams games in the playoffs.

it was third and 1 on the 5

they tried a weak uncrisp QB sneak on third down

then they switched to a pitch to their QUICKEST back

what they USED to do in many situations like this was fake the trap, reverse back to the right and have the QB run the option where he could pitch it to the back, keep it himself or continue rolling out for a short pass

almost invariably the QB would roll out it and then break it straight into the end zone for a TD

I don't think you read the article.

On a per capita basis, Hawaii ranks eighth among the 50 states and District of Columbia in the number of players from its high schools on National Football League 2004 opening-day rosters.

It also was among the top tier of states, on a per capita basis, in the number of players who signed letters-of-intent with NCAA Division I-A schools in 2004.

Also funny that you would take USAToday's take on this, but not their head HS guy, Chris Lawlor's take on National TV.

wonder why....

What was the fourth down and distance?

so give me the date and station that the EC-SLC was broadcast on national TV / ESPN

I will prove you are wrong

so 8th in pro players

and among the top in ncaa per capita

and you say I am wrong

sheesh

I am really confused how "practically says the top per capita" and USA Today says "among the top in per capita" differ at all

oh I forgot

Mr Nitpicker

Don't prove me wrong, prove Chris Lawlor wrong of ESPN/USAToday, as you stated:

I will take the USA Today over you.

Last season, Carroll played Evangel Christian Academy of Shreveport, La., on ESPN.

So prove me/USAToday wrong, (maybe suggest it was the Fox Sports Game of the week).

You forgot trouble making troll. Also, just want to note this has NOTHING to do w/Bosco.

The SLC/ECA game was on Fox Sports Net in week 2 of the 2006 season. I believe that most regional Fox Sports Networks (most likely all of them) picked up the game. Personally I know people from Ohio, California, Utah and Oklahoma who watched the game.

USA Today has rankings which are a lot lessed biased than individual fans and front runners and wannabes

that DOES NOT exempt them from making factual mistakes

I stand by the statement I will take the USA Tiday rankings and OPINIONS over a wannabe biased fan

AND

I Stand by the statement that SLC and ECU played on ESPN in 2006 and a factual error was made

Show me a DVD of the game

or do all 35,000 fans not own TVS?

about the best you could do under the conditions

sorry

and troll is not my term

it is a yappi board term for those that follow others around and harrass them and nitpick their posts

sound familiar?

DLS went to the short side.

I don't think that helped.

Who went for two and lost?

STA vs. Lakeland after a big come back. This may have been the most logical of the four. He could claim they were worn out and didn't think the team had the energy, in fact he may have.

My problems and thoughts, and I am conservative in nature:

1. Fake punt. Pretty much all or nothing. You probably don't work on it that much. Make them drive the field. Who's stonger? Running the fake, kind of shows you are afraid.

2. Spike from the shotgun. Just dumb. You save the time out in case you have a fumbled snap or something? It's an XP basically, second nature for a team that scores a ton. Then you run a play from a formation YOU NEVER RUN, w/a backup??? Seem to be an overlooked bonehead call to me.

3. 4th and 1 from the 5 and you need a TD. Your claim to fame is the execution of your OLine. You have a GREAT short yardage back and a good running QB, and you pitch it backwards 3-4 yards to a backup to the short side? He may be fast, but there is a reason he is the third option all season. I am a fan of the QB over center/guard play in that situation.

4. Your underdog team comes from WAY back and sends it into OT. Ready for the tie and you don't give your team the opportunity to go on. Probably the most understandable call of the four.

No I was wrong. I don't feel bad about it. I feel comfortable posting links from sources like USAToday and ESPN. I try not to quote from half ----- links, and if I do so, I state that's what I am doing.

If the infos incorrect, its incorrect. No big deal.

Speaking of stubborn, are you still standing by the fact that ESPNU is not offered in Cali, although it is offered by DirecTV/Dish/Time Warner?
