I don't know should should Fairmont beat Wayne they could run the table. The only team left on the schedule that consistently beats them is Northmont and they do not look good this year.
Not so fast. I expect a GWOC team winning region 2, but not sure which team that will be. LOL!

Not sure Springboro is getting enough credit here. They just destroyed Wayne and the Elder game was 13-6 at the start of the 4th quarter after their starting QB went out in the 1st quarter. We shall see!

Think boro still has the stigma of last year's record on them. Like you said we shall see could be wide open and end with a 2-3 way tie for first.
Springfield @ Centerville. Elks won't be able to score much against the CATS so can the Elk defense hold the CATS? Centerville has given up the 2nd most points in the GWOC but they have gotten some key turnovers to change games especially last week. IF they can turn the CATS over multiple times the ELKS have a chance but I am still taking the CATS by at least 2 scores.
Beavercreek @ Miamisburg. Creek leads the league in scoring but not so fast. They have destroyed some very bad teams and when they play against more competitive schools the scoring is WAY down. Miamisburg has been disappointing but they should have enough to beat the Beavers especially at home. Vikings win 35-14
Fairmont @ Wayne. Fairmont is kicking themselves for giving the game away last week. We all know what the Birds do but they seem to be putting hte ball in the air more. Wayne's defense has become non-existent though they did play better in the 2nd half at Boro. Wayne needs to come to grips with the offense and come up with creative ways to get the ball into their play makers. Same old same old is not working. Wayne also needs to hold on to the ball. It is one thing to get hit and fumbe but the turnovers are just dropping the ball or exchange issues. This game is a hard one to call but I am sticking with my gut that sees Wayne at 1-6 before winning 7 straight. Fairmont wins 28-10.
Northmont at Springboro. Both teams coming off of wins. Boro should have little problem moving the ball on the Bolts while Bolts will struggle scoring on the Panthers. Will this game be close.... ? NO.... Boro wins big.

Remember. Winning the GWOC is good but last year's winner didn't win R2.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have but the region is better.

Wanted to give a shout out to Centerville for a very classy announcement prior to the National Anthem. The announcer acknowledged the difficulty facing Springfield residents these past two week, said there's no place for the hate speech happening, and said directly to Springfield that Centerville stands with them. I admit is was touching, and very much appreciated by the Springfield fans in attendance. Thank you Centerville.

It was a nice touch! About the only thing C Ville did well last night. Not a great program to watch right now. Not sure last time the Elks had 5 INT's and 6 TO's. A program built on Win Special Teams, Win TO's, Win the LOS. They lost a lot of SR's to the portal this year so hopefully they will improve as the season rolls and they get more experience.

What was going on with your qb? Did the SHS defense really go after him and pressure him in a way he hadn't seen before? Or was it something else? Even your radio announcers were saying he should be pulled and was having a very uncharacteristically bad night. Hopefully he's not injured or anything like that.

He will be back in two weeks.
Wayne was 16 for 22 throwing the ball and had just 20 yards less than Fairmont in the game. Both had about the same amount of first downs. The difference in this game was Fairmont converted on 3rd downs, Wayne did not. Fairmont scored on every possession of the game. Did not see much of defensive adjustments. Wayne did not substitute much either on defense. The 10+ minute 3rd qtr drive put an end to the game. It did not help that Wayne started the game with an unforced fumble that Fairmont returned to the 2.
Let Hunter throw the ball down field..... every team knows what Wayne is going to do and they are doing enough to stop it. I am pretty sure Mukes is going to be gone after this season. Wayne will find a way to beat Northmont next week. It can't get much worse can it?

Only if they somehow lose to Northmont...which would be a horrific screwup...this Northmont team isn't 3-4 years ago...

Coaches are ultimately responsible for preparing the players for each game. They also instill a culture of discipline. Neither exists in Mukes’ time in office. Coach Minton always said the players get credit when they win and the coaches are responsible when they lose.

Totally agree. Mukes needs to be gone!!! Does the young new athletic director have the guts to fire him? All his staff need to go also. Hopefully they can get a good winning coach and build Wayne back up to what the fans are used to. It is painful to watch or listen to games. I feel really bad for the players as I am sure they are working hard. They do have athletes that have D1 scholarships, so there is talent, but they underperform week after week. The QB situation is unfortunate; however, what the heck is wrong with the defense??? They used to be so good, and now they arent even mediocre??? A really sad situation all the way around
