GCL Coed 2025

So are we going to play the "what school does Shouse end up at" no Way he says at Fenwick right?
I dont even think they win 8 games like they did last year

I guess I don't understand that question? Why did he attend there to begin with? I believe he's a 3 sport kid. Was he not a varsity player in all 3? Does that occur at Mason, East/West, Springboro, Moeller?
Is baseball his best sport? He certainly looks the part.
Parents want him to have a religious education?

Regardless, the d1 and pro scouts are going to follow him wherever he is. Its almost a thing where they can see more of what type of kid he is rather than just a ball player. Body language is something coaches at the next level care a lot about. The #2 player in the country is going to bring scouts to his games whether or not hes playing d1 or d5.

Heck he sees 91-95 all summer long I’m told.
Has a live arm.

The scouts are going to come like you said, but it does matter that he is wasting his time march-may because of the competition Fenwick plays to where he hasn't seen the competition he will see in the summer.

Kramer is a dude for sure. But 1 run against Alter?? That's more concerning than praising Kramer's dominance.

Watkins pitched for Alter whom could hold most teams in check.
I believe Driessen v Hoagland would be the best gcl matchup in 2025.
Driessen has already shut out CJ this season. They have to finish 4 innings of game 2. 0-0 top of 4.
Can you bring Kramer back on Monday after throwing 7 on Thursday?
I would imagine Driessen will throw on Monday for Badin.

Hoagland v Niehaus was also an electric match up. Too bad rain and 💩 conditions postponed that game.

Driessen threw Wed. He might be held to the Wednesday game at home in the McNick series.

Watkins went 1 inning v Badin and gave up 10 runs (7 earned) on 8 hits and 2 BB.

Watkins held badin to three runs in 2024. I think he just ran in to a buzz saw this year.

I dont know those answers

as an outsider Baseball is his best sport (thats the only one I follow him in)

I do know that losing sucks. and Fenwick loses Football 3-7 , basketball 8-16 and baseball is 3-7 cant be fun losing.

I wasn't there to answer if the game was too big. It was raining in the beginning, but it didn't seem to effect the Badin pitchers.

But reading the talk about Shouse on here would make me think it wasn't too big. If that's the case, he may want to stay at Fenwick instead of looking for a transfer.
 
It's a gorgeous day for baseball today!! Excited for the series opener today between Badin and McNick. I'm not sure who the starters will be. Hoping we see a Driessen v Kramer matchup. The key for McNick, even with Kramer starting, will be if they can manufacture runs. Personally, I think Badin can win v Kramer without Driessen on the bump. Their bullpen has been a bright spot and more than effective this season. We just may see a 1-0 or 2-0 game and not the mercy rule game we've seen of late out of the Rams. No matter what, I can't wait to get to the diamond this afternoon!!

Any other big conference matchups today or this week?
 
Badin hands Kramer his first loss as the Rams beat McNick 9-2 tonight.

Was surprised that McNick ran him out there on just 3 days rest after 87 pitches against Alter. In my opinion, the fatigue showed as he wasn't on his normal game. Badin hitters can do that to ya, though.

Driessen throws Wednesday in series finale at Joyce Park.

3 days rest on 87 pitches with a young kid like that is down right stupid.

I would say he threw in the 75-80 pitch range. Pretty easy first three innings but ran into a lot of 3-2 counts and walks were all in innings 4 and 5. Bowling's triple to start the fourth was a big blow. Kramer has a great future however, big time body and arm.

I can't wait to see him fill out over the next two season and beyond!

You are correct on the first few innings. But I thought he looked fatigued, which led to him getting a bit rattled. There are no easy outs in that Badin lineup!

He finished with 67 pitches. He's got a heck of a future ahead of him!

Heck of a future, if selfish coaching and prioritizing wins over health doesn't end his career early. That Tommy-John surgery is no joke nowadays. I just hope the kid stays healthy.

And they play Badin again Wednesday! I think he would have shown much better had he been fully rested. Selfishly, I wish he was fully rested as well. You could see the talent the first few innings. He could have been at peak longer if they had waited.

I would guess the coaches felt they weren’t going to beat Driessen even if they held Kramer back two more days. So they took a chance on throwing him on 3 days rest.
Obviously it didn’t work out.
There’s some pitching talent in that league. The three kids from CJ, a couple from Badin and the kids from McNick. Unfortunately they all play in the same district come tourney time.

Gambling with the arms and health of 15y/o young men is not a game I'd play.
