Maybe I don’t understand the transfer rules but are you saying he open enrolled at a school that wasn’t his home district and going back to his home district doesn’t subject him to sitting out?

That's exactly correct if that's the situation. If you are open enrolled I believe you can transfer back to your district of residence penalty free once. If I remember correctly

1. Carson Thomas (LaSalle) Senior

Took 4th place at the Carion Open yesterday. I believe that is the same person.
 
so just out of curiosity, how can Malaki Linton-Wiseman of Wellston decison Andrews of Barnesville at sectionals and then pin Mahoney of Martins Ferry at districts yet both of these kids are ranked above the boy from wellston.

Linton-Wiseman is being evaluated at 126. Does he plan on going 120 again?

Deepest Weight (Top 30)
D1: 215
D2: 175
D3: 132

Tied for Second Deepest Weight (Top 25)
D1: 120, 138, 144, 285
D2: 120, 126, 138, 144
D3: 120, 165, 175, 190


Just to clarify, deepest weight and second deepest weight are not about the strength at the top of the weight, but the strength from #21 thru #25 or #21 thru #30. Like most years, some weights look MUCH stronger than others but changes after the initial release tend to usually help even them out a little.

106 is always the toughest weight to rank because of the unknown returnees and the growth of incoming freshman (some kids may be very undersized). If I missed any wrestlers that are set to return to 106 PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

I have been moving wrestlers around like crazy the past few weeks after receiving projected lineups from coaches/parents, so please let me know if I have multiple wrestlers ranked at the same weight or if I missed a previous head-to-head result (WHICH IS VERY POSSIBLE)

I am expecting many changes early on, so I will make changes every day around 11 AM and 11 PM thru Friday (August 9th) and then move to just PM updates thru the end of August. I will post all of the weights that had changes on here like usual.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I was under the impression that Carson Thomas wasn’t wrestling this year. Also, is Evan Rizzo not competing this year?

As I stated previously, I will remove Thomas when the season starts (assuming he doesn’t wrestle). Rizzo got hurt during football and I was told he will not be able to return in time for the postseason.

have other wrestlers opted out of senior year of HS? he mentioned previously wanting back-to-back state titles, but that may have changed If he is worried about an injury

One wonders what a guy like Marcus Blaze has left to prove in wrestling in HS this year.

This wouldn't be the case if OHSAA would pass NIL in high school!!!! it is 100% not about chance of injury!

I guess, but how much glory is there really hanging up a State Runner up (or 3rd place) banner relative to training with the NLWC full time and traveling the world with your new brothers? To each his own I guess.

He has the next 5 years for that. Do you watch the first 30 min of a movie and fwd to the last 30? Maybe being in the room gets one of his buddies over the hump to winning a state title.

Of the hundreds of thousands of kids who have wrestled in OH somewhere just over 30 have been 4 timers. Why wouldn’t a kid want to be in that club? Not to mention, he has one of the best coaches in the country to work with every day.
