Boro fan, Again, Pizzuto at 112 will be a force, Nelson,Pizzuto and William Spangler will be top 4 at State including Greer, all from same district. At 125, you have Wiseman,Brian Spangler,Neil Roff and Ryan Harris. At 130, probably as weak as 112.

Has there been a time since Troy Christian began that they didn't have a wrestler mentioned as even a placer? Two years removed from a state title thats sad but I think Ty will surprise quite a few program and build off of what Coach Goudy created.

Will Pizzuto make 112? Does J-M still go to Solon, if so I will evaluate him against Vinas (Twinsburg) Marsico (Pick. North) Thompson (Solon) and Stainbrook. If all of those kids are at 112 and Pizzuto wins it. I will move him to 1st and keep him there all year.

Pizzuto at 112? He should if he wants the title, remember he's a senior, its his chance. Same with Wiseman at 119.

Wiseman is a taller, leaner kid, 119 will be tough. I give Pizzuto a better chance of 112 than Wiseman to 119

What about these freshman kids? DeCeaser, I remember from junior high states at Daily's weight, Danishek, Reese and Harris. Danishek and Harris are animals. And how about Retay? What weight is he projected?

DeCeasre will be at 125, only place he fits. He will be a solid sized 125, I don't think he's good enough yet to be a SQ. Danishek will make noise at 112, I think he will place. Reese will contend for a spot on the Podium at 103. Harris from what I hear will be 119 or 125. I think he will win Maple Hts if he goes 125 and Wiseman goes 119. Clary and Danishek at Dayton Christian will be household names very soon and Ratay is projected for 130.

for West Jeff - according to their coach.

112 Feucht - qualifier
119 Branham - 5th
130 Reichle
140 Ractliff - 4th jrhigh
152/160 Prather - 4th
189/215 Fultz - qualifier

Also, Heminger will be 119 and Wright-215 northmor can no longer wrestle bacause of injury.

Wow.....Branham & Heminger @ 119 again

Neil Roff, CVCA, WON 8 matches at Fargo combined Greco, and Freestyle, has had a great off season, he will be a factor at 125. Matt Dobben, CVCA a FR SA at 130 last season, will be a SP CONTENDER @ 135/140. Matt Meadows (RANKED NATIONALLY USA Top Juniors), returning SP, CVCA, not mentioned at 215, had a great Disney for Sampsons wrestling this weight undersized, all losses were close, and he is now a solid 215 with a chance to be a very high SP at this weight. Remember, he placed at Medina at 189 last year before reaching cert at 160, which was a huge cut for him behind Ultey at 171. This season, he will not cut going 215.
80 points was last year, likely 100 plus and solidly in the hunt for a D3 Team Title. I am a homer admittingly!

REPUBLIC , I think you leave out one of CVCA's best Seth Powers returning after missing most of last season with an injury. I hear he will be around 135 and 140? There are many others not mentioned in ranking I think could be major players. Zeb Beam 152 and Brenden Stanly 145 along with what will be the strongest 112 in the state Tyler Harter who has been working hard on his technique will be on the podium from Waynedale. These Waynedale kids are some of the strongest kids I have worked with. Loue Stanley is one of the best strength and conditioning coaches I know and is extremely dedicated in the off season. Waynedale will finish higher than most think .

Waynedale with the addition of Zack and Zane, will definitely be a strong State Contender this season. A top 5 finish is possible. I know the technique is going to improve at Waynedale. I think this team should be wrestling a tougher schedule, it isn't everything, but a couple of the bigger Holiday tourneys I think would help in preparing this team for the post season. One or two of the following: North Canton/ Dies/Medina/ or Top Gun. It would be nice to see you guys at a spot light Tourney with all the talent at Waynedale. Then again, we will see you guys at Districts and State, those are two very tough tourneys.

Seth is working hard and progressing, thanks!

I believe that Waynedale may be at the Marion-Elgin tournament again this season. This event is quickly becoming an extremely tough tourney, and while not at the level yet of some of the tournaments you listed, may soon be regarded as a marquee event.

Has there been a time since Troy Christian began that they didn't have a wrestler mentioned as even a placer? Two years removed from a state title thats sad but I think Ty will surprise quite a few program and build off of what Coach Goudy created.

I believe Jordan Marshall will be a contender at 140 or 145

BJ Toal is back this season after a Mission trip last year, look for him to factor in somewhere (171).

Troy Christian will have another Hancock soon?

Is there also a younger Kolodzik possibly at Troy Christian, he may still be a couple years away, someone clarify, thanks.

Meyers at reading

I don't know about the older Meyers, THe younger will place at 130 or 135 this year. Since stephan is going from a private to a public school he should be eligable.

To respond to some of these...

Beam I evaluated at 160, if he is at 152, I think he is either 2nd or 3rd depending on Prezzia.

Roff needs to be evaluated in folkstyle, freestyle and greco doesn't mean anything.

Harter is a pure meathead lol, not much technique, he will get better Nelson in the room, I had him as a sleeper last year, so he was on my radar.

Matt Meadows is probably the 3rd best out of our district, behind Schafer?? and Smith. Gage Wyant will also beat 215, he is more of the quicker, athletic 215, he's tough to wrestle from what I hear. Meadows will be making a huge jump from 160, he was more the meaty 160 last year, huge legs, interested to see what he looks like at 215.

Myers went private to public (Springboro) and then another public (Reading) so he could be in "trouble" - I don't know my rules in and out.

Tomasello wins at 103 or 112, his choice - the rest of the field follows.

I don't know if the Dayton Christian duo of Clary and Danishek can win state titles this year, but they WILL be legit forces in the conversation. To what extent, we'll know possibly a little more after the Super32 this weekend.

Stieber at 135 and Tessari at 145 are the early projections there. Wherever they go, they win - the field moves AWAY.

Phillips at 171 and Utley at 189 have the same type of tractability, though some will have unattractive choices to make like Xavier Dye and Kurt Schaefer (though Schaefer has the 215 option but that's covered by defending state champ Hayes).

Lyttle, Endicott, and Stenger are my top three at HVY.

TC has Jordan Marshall who could be in the high placement conversation this year despite a disappointing freshman year state tournament. Will be interesting to see what weight Toal ends up at in his high school debut.

Matthew Kolodzik has been dominant in his pre-HS competition. He's in 8th grade. His brother went the single entrant route at Miami Valley School, which is very possible what Matt will end up doing.

Whats the odds on Scheafer beating Utley....Both are tough. Both are seasoned. Is Utley THAT good? Did Phillips lay-off in the finals because they are friends?

I think Scheafer has a shot at Utley or Hayes....

I dont see Schaefer beating Utley or Rodgers.. I just have more respect for wrestlers who have excelled in the 52-71 range than i do the 89 weight class, just my opinion

I don't think Phillips eased up at all, it was a close match for a reason, same reason why Utley is a top 100 recruit, he's tough as nails. Schafer and Rodgers will both challenge Utley somewhat at 189 but I still think Utley wins.

I was hoping to see Utley wrestle Phillips again. If he could pull of that upset he could steal all of Phillips glory away from him, it would be almost as nice as being a 4xer himself

Troy Christian will have another Hancock soon?

Yes, another Hancock coming up plus another Sergent. Hancock in 7th or 8th. Sergent in 6th right now.

Matt Meadows wrestled 220 at Disney "folkstyle" weighing in at around 190. He wrestled some of the Nations Best and lost some very close 1 point match matches undersized. He is a solid 210, and has been lifting all summer. The St. Eds and Marist dual coupled with the Ironman in the first two weeks of the season, will give an early indication on Matt Meadows.
