Special Board meeting Monday to announce next coach.

They had one I am hearing to hire on Friday. Sounds like a bunch of board members need voted out of office

Great Duo right there. There is a lot of pressure trying to fill big shoes, either choice Matt or Zach would be up for the challenge.

Matt can’t coach a Defense let alone a high school team. He’s a kisser that’s how he got the job. How he was most qualified is freaking crazy. The AD needed a puppet someone they can control.

Ask around to local ADs no one likes Dover’s AD. I don’t know the man but after this hire I’m not sure anyone in Dover likes him. I was told the AD and supper think they are untouchable. Time for a board change so the AD and supper can start getting the clamps put on them.

As for Gardner being the Oc. If I was him I would say thanks but no thanks. Let him go get a job some other place and make Dover regret not hiring him. Why go bail out the fool that got the Job?

Dover did nothing but waste time to please the public. His was the pick 3-5 years in the making. I see a big drop off coming in Dover Football!!
Just watch how the guy coached Defensively. Looked like they were playing 2-hand tap

So your in favor for the good old boy system? Because if MVP is right and Matt gets the job the football program will suffer.

All the AD SUP and the board care about is putting in a puppet who only sucked his way to the top. Dover admins dont care for a second about any sports program all they want is to stay in power and not be challenged.

How do you already know the program will suffer? Just a question, because anyone can speculate, but no one knows for sure

Right there my man is the difference between great programs and mediocre programs. What you just said is why Dover is the way it is. You guys are okay with being average.

I'm not from Dover, but what I am saying is this, you make this out like it's a foregone conclusion the sky will officially fall at Dover. Like heads should in the admin over HS football. That's what I am getting at

I dont think you could convince any true Dover fan that Reese is gonna make a good HC or that if he is hired him being a "Dover" guy doesn't have any play in it.

That may happen, but no one knows yet, you haven't even had a season yet, let alone 2 or 3 to judge.

look, I am only saying these things because there is a lot that we the public may not know. What if he wasn't the first choice but two other or their top candidate turned them down after they were offered. That can happen often.

Its possible that he could have been the best fit for what positions were available based on their top candidates (in terms of teaching positions)

maybe some of the candidates people really wanted never applied?

those are all things to consider before already declaring that Dover football is going to go down the tubes, maybe try to support your program instead of sabotage of it because your angry. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. if it works out, then thats great and everyone is happy

Yeah and maybe the school board will be held accountable with election time and Trust Me they will be.. I hope they put a levy on so it can get turned down again. No the others didn’t turn it down. Zach got called on Friday and told. They wanted someone that can control and they got it.

If Zach takes a job as OC he’s crazy. Let the guy that always brags about winning national titles and college sink. The next time there is a coaching change at Dover. Np will be up In the series by 5

Its the “Dover Difference”.. same reason we made up a Assistant AD job last year to keep BVK as the basketball coach.. Dover administration will always be satisfied with being average.. We have had a bunch of talent the last 10 years be wasted because we’re satisfied with “winning seasons”..

Yep. More created waste. Let’s not forget they create a job position for Bobby’s wife at $37,000 a year.. AD makes $98,043 Wife makes $142,271.. Say bye bye to this school board. Maybe the next board will start holding people accountable.

I think he really wanted it and I think he would have been great. But he wasn’t from Dover and politics are politics.

I know the college guy didn’t get offered at least…he’s a buddy of mine, also got a call Friday. Best coach I’ve ever meant. NFL experience, a decade of college coaching, training high schoolers. I think he really wanted it and I think he would have been great. But he wasn’t from Dover and politics are politics.

Agree, New Phila football suffered for more than a decade because the fans never allowed the kids to believe in the coach,it was constant bickering across the river, it was a constant merry go round

But the hire should always be who can make the program the best it can be and not who can be controlled or plays the politics of the town.

The point I think what most people including myself are saying is. The administration is not doing whats best for the program they are doing the same bs they have been doing and hiring "Dover" people.

1.) family donates money to the school/sport
2.) if you were in the upper social class (popular, family has been Dover family for decades)
3.) successful athlete in football and basketball

Also yes like sport fanatic said the AD and the Superintendent are married and if that's not a conflict of intrest I don't know what is.

Dover has a proud tradition, but if the rest of the community will be this divisive then you aren't giving the kids or the program a chance because you've already canceled the new hire. Its a ridiculous trend in America and its the reason mediocrity is rampant and underachievement is also rampant.

My suggestion would be, if you care about the program that much, try to get involved as a coach or volunteer coach and try to make it better. I don't know what else to say.

Holding people to higher standards isn't tearing people down. It's making them accountable for there actions that means players coaches AD Superintendent board members.

The last 3 years Rees has been the DC outside of 2020. He's given up 23 points per game and if anyone thinks thats a good number is out of there mind.

All it tells me is Dover is okay with being okay.

I want Dover to do well and i hope im completely wrong but I have serious doubts that it will happen with the hire they are probably going to make.
