The fact that they won with the qb turning it over 4 times is pretty incredible by itself. qb has been both the hero and the goat the last couple weeks. Hope the mistakes can be avoided next week.

Tough opponents and weather. Kings, WW, Lasalle and Big Walnut were night and day better than rest of schedule.

At this point I think schedule doesn't really matter. Back to back weeks in wars with good teams imo tosses everything else out the window.

CJB is right on this. Avon hasn't really played a true spread team this year. I guess Berea and possibly Highland to an extent. It's going to be much different and a different challenge. Avon has played some very good OLs all year though and have consistently found a way to get pressure with four which is huge.

Hoban had the one quick drive last night when it was 28-3. I think the overall difference that was evident last night and has been all year is Avon's team speed and all over. On all three levels of the defense and all parts of the offense, they have serious speed. Feister had holes last night at times and when you think he might go, an Eagle was flying downhill to limit the big play.

The fact that Avon was able to limit Feister’s ability to break big plays shows how good this team is.

Feister is a D1 caliber athlete in football and wrestling.

For such a tall back he’s great at keeping his balance and his feet moving. And the kid Avon faced the week before, Myser from Highland, is another really good big and athletic RB from that area.

Had a chance to watch Avon twice this year. Wow. They are a complete team 🏆

This. Anderson seems more like where Avon was a few years ago. There are dues to pay and if they keep raising their bar they will get there too. Just feels like it is Avon's turn, NOW. That said I certainly do not count Anderson out. Avon has a huge cloud to come down from, in very short order. Can't be overstated.

Avon 9 wins over Top 100 teams in Ohio. Anderson has 4 wins over Top 100. Strength of schedule in D2 Avon is 5th and Anderson 26th. Be interesting how Anderson lines up against one of the Top offenses in Ohio. Winton Woods, Lasalle and Big Walnut very good teams but I don't think the most dedicated WW or Lasalle fans would say they had high powered offenses this year.

The OOC teams Avon beat were not the top versions of those teams. For what it's worth, Harbin points favor Anderson.

True. Although St. Iggy went 1-10 and they get trolled a lot they are imo still a solid opponent, but they won’t give them many Harbin points. And with Glenville being a D4 that won’t give them as many points either.

Overall the ECC is also better than the SWC was. I’m sure Anderson got some good points off of Lebanon, WC, Kings and Winton Woods (3 D1 schools, 1 D2). SWC you have North Ridgeville and Olmstead Falls (both D2). So it makes sense for Anderson to have more Harbin points for sure

Avon's OOC was solid.

1. Iggy went 1-10 because they have to play an insane schedule while they're in rebuilding mode. I'm willing to bet that they'd be well above .500 against the average slate, but unless a slew of "lesser programs" step up to try to get a win over them just to say that "WE BEAT IGGY," their program will likely be forced to deal with the same situation for a while.

2. Canton McKinley may not have been elite, but they weren't bad at all. Lots of athletes on the field, but inconsistencies made them pobne to hiccups. They gave Avon all that they could handle though.

3. Glenville is Glenville. As long as Coach Ginn is there, he's going to have athletes all over the field. Youth is on their side, so they'll likely be much better next year.

Those three teams to go along with North Ridgeville (9-3), Olmsted Falls (8-4), and a traditionally strong Avon Lake (6-5) is is a pretty solid schedule. In any case, the fact that Avon gave Hoban their worst loss in three years and their worst loss to an instate opponent in ten years should eliminate any questions about their schedule.

I've always found did a schedule get a team ready for the title game a bit odd. Usually by week 16 you have had to go thru good teams.

Exactly. The ‘schedule’ ended almost two months ago. The idea that a team would be better than another in this game because of a game they played in August seems a bit of a stretch.

To me, health is WAY more important than strength of schedule at this point. Have you been able to practice, lift, play and recover all the way through? Having to adjust your lineup or your game plan is much larger factor than your week 3 opponent.

Yes, I would say both of these teams have obviously prepared sufficiently enough. They made it to the championship game. Now it’s just a matter of who can avoid injuries, get a lucky bounce or break, play clean football, make enough plays and score at least one more point than the other.

100% on health. Remember 2009 without normally, starting center and others going into regional final

Another big factor will be if Avon can apply pressure to Anderson’s O line and dynamic QB. Winton Woods only had 1 sack and 3 tfl, LaSalle had 0 sacks and 4 tfl, Big Walnut had 1 sack and 5 tfl. If Anderson QB has time and limits turnovers it could be a shootout.

Going to be wild to see if Anderson has a 4th and 6 for example on their own 30 in the first half and they go for it.
