DII State Championship: #1 Avon vs #5 Anderson

Burnam throws toward the endzone to McClanahan and it's incomplete. Anderson radio guys were screaming for DPI. 4th and 9 with 0:08 left, Burnam gets away from the sack, it's incomplete, and that's your ball game.

The Avon Eagles are 2024 D2 state champions. It's their first state championship in school history.

Outstanding play-by-play, MrOrcaDood! Makes the game come alive for those who could not attend/watch at the time the game took place.

Avon fan so beyond proud of the team. Hats off to Anderson as they showed up. Their OL did a really good job all night and their QB's ability to extend plays was impressive. Conditions for both teams not ideal and I am still cold. Great venue but I hate sitting on visitor side with that stage in the way.

Congrats to Coach Elder and his staff. Well deserved. Doing it with Hoban in the path after all those losses is huge. So much heartbreak and finally..

If anyone was on the field, they'd know kicking the ball was not in any way a certainty. Wise move to go for two.
