Quit being Modest you guys are getting it done this yearTotally different animal than Hoban. Avon's D will have to go to the drawing board again for this one.
Another reason Thursday games suck.Totally different animal than Hoban. Avon's D will have to go to the drawing board again for this one.
Just watch the Massillon vs Anderson game from last year. That is the blueprint.Totally different animal than Hoban. Avon's D will have to go to the drawing board again for this one.
If it was only that easy. Anderson has some solid wins, they are 15-0 and they like to play five wide. I’ll be happy with a one point win. It still gets you the trophy. I sure hope we hear a lot about Anderson this week.Quit being Modest you guys are getting it done this year
I’ve seen some of that game, but I’m going to watch it all.Just watch the Massillon vs Anderson game from last year. That is the blueprint.
Won’t tell you a whole lot about this year’s team.I’ve seen some of that game, but I’m going to watch it all.
The fact that they won with the qb turning it over 4 times is pretty incredible by itself. qb has been both the hero and the goat the last couple weeks. Hope the mistakes can be avoided next week.Anderson will have to play a much cleaner game next week to win. Can't be negative 4 in turnover battle
I would like to watch the LaSalle and Winton Woods games from this season.Won’t tell you a whole lot about this year’s team.
Yea definitely watch that game. They scored on us right away. Then we adjusted pretty well. They also were going for it on 4th down in their own territory. Very interesting. I've seen them play a half this year. They're pretty damn good. Tonight they had quite a few turnovers so that hurt them. Play like you did tonight and it won't matter next week you'll win. That was a dominating performance. Very impressiveI’ve seen some of that game, but I’m going to watch it all.
That's very uncharacteristic of him to my knowledge. If they can keep the mistakes and penalties down they have a good chance. Avon really impressed me tonight though. It should be a great game. Those would be the two best to watch besides tonight. Every other game had a running clock the whole second half for the most part.I would like to watch the LaSalle and Winton Woods games from this season.
it must be hard to cake-walk most of the season and suddenly have to figure out how to play against legit opponents in crunch time. That's very uncharacteristic of him to my knowledge. They play in a 10 team conference split D1 and D2 teams. So they only get 1 out of conference game. I don't think their league was particularly strong this year but Winton Woods has been solid and they beat a LaSalle team that was playing well at the end of the year. They have enough talent to match up.Yea that could be an issue. I don't know too much about the teams they play down there. But if the schedule is fairly weak I can see it being an issue at this point of the season
Anderson definitely didn’t play a world class schedule, but their conference (ECC) is usually a great league, but it was just in a bit of a down year, overall I’d say their SOS was maybe average.Yea that could be an issue. The OOC teams Avon beat were not the top versions of those teams. For what it's worth, Harbin points favor Anderson.Anderson definitely didn’t play a world class schedule, but their conference (ECC) is usually a great league, but it was just in a bit of a down year, overall I’d say their SOS was maybe average.
Avon SOS looks like it was pretty good. They had some tough non-conference games
True. Although St. Iggy went 1-10 and they get trolled a lot they are imo still a solid opponent, but they won’t give them many Harbin points. And with Glenville being a D4 that won’t give them as many points either. The OOC teams Avon beat were not the top versions of those teams. For what it's worth, Harbin points favor Anderson.
Don’t under estimate the SWC too much. Yes Avon, Avon Lake and Olmsted Falls have been conference powers for a while but North Ridgeville is a growing program, Amherst is also moving in the right direction again. We only had 2 teams finish under .500. Elyria 0-10 and Berea-Midpark 3-7. This is a traditionally tough conference. I think both teams are very comparable in conference play. Should be a great game! Hoping our Eagles bring it home!True. Although St. Iggy went 1-10 and they get trolled a lot they are imo still a solid opponent, but they won’t give them many Harbin points. Overall the ECC is also better than the SWC was. I’m sure Anderson got some good points off of Lebanon, WC, Kings and Winton Woods (3 D1 schools, 1 D2). SWC you have North Ridgeville and Olmstead Falls (both D2). So it makes sense for Anderson to have more Harbin points for sure
I’m not too familiar with the SWC, but always open to learning! I traditionally follow SW Ohio, but I’ve been getting more in tune with the NEO Conferences! SWC seems like a greatly constructed and stable league overall!Don’t under estimate the SWC too much. I’m like you as well where my familiarity with the ECC I don’t know a ton but I do know enough about Kings, WW, Lebanon from years past. The SWC is in a heavily growing area with Avon and North Ridgeville having the biggest growth. Avon Lake and O Falls have slowed a bit but Midview will be experiencing some huge growth soon as the growth is moving south of Avon and North Ridgeville. SWC is a pretty solid conference. We do have some state title winners from past years Avon Lake 03 O Falls 00. Really hoping Avon can be the 3rd team from the SWC with some hardware.I’m not too familiar with the SWC, but always open to learning! Avon has a great chance to bring it home! After the beat down they just put on Hoban, if you asked me my $$ is on them. The Avon area is impressive. I drove past it a couple days on 90 and it looks like they are building a lot of new housing subdivisions! Same for N Ridgeville, lots of housing being built. I don’t know enrollment number wise off the top of my head but I would think Avon could be a D1 school soon, and the league overall can go from a mostly D2 league to a good split of a D1/D2 league!I’m like you as well where my familiarity with the ECC I don’t know a ton but I do know enough about Kings, WW, Lebanon from years past. You wont see a lot of new homes off of 90 but the commercial explosion has been picking up off the highway. Yeah us and N Ridgeville have been pushing the brink of D1 for a couple years but thankfully the enrollment figures keep changing to keep an even field in D1 and D2. Adding Strongsville and Brunswick would be a very nice addition. Geographically the SWC teams are almost all border towns with one another which is maybe rare I’m not sure but it makes for good neighborhood rivalries around here. I do a lot of work in the area and have met folks from all communities here conference wise and the support for the schools is pretty solid. Outside of football the SWC does very well in all other sports too.Avon has a great chance to bring it home! After the beat down they just put on Hoban, if you asked me my $$ is on them. In a NE Ohio re-alignment thread they talked a lot about Strongsville and Brunswick being interested in the SWC too
CJB is right on this. Avon hasn't really played a true spread team this year. I guess Berea and possibly Highland to an extent. It's going to be much different and a different challenge. Avon has played some very good OLs all year though and have consistently found a way to get pressure with four which is huge.Totally different animal than Hoban. Avon's D will have to go to the drawing board again for this one.
