They've at least seen the top teams and they pay attention to who beats who.
Ok I’ll play along and say they have seen the top 25 teams in their rankings. So how would they know if there was a school sitting at 44 that is really top 25 material? Oh yeah paying attention to who beats who. I showed their scores can be wrong. You blamed it on IT. Ok it was a data entry error. Do they have say a spreadsheet with all the correct scores nationwide?

Very few GAF about national rankings. Nor should they. HS football -- like politics -- is local. Couldn't care less about how some random OH team compares with some other school from wherever. Leave that to the incels.
I agree. There's no way you can rank high school football teams on a top 25 scale across the country. It barely works for college football.

There are groups of teams in each state that are what I would call elite programs. Meaning, those teams can play with the other elite programs in other states. Ohio has a handful, many other states have none, and some, like Florida, have plenty.

Both Springfield and Moeller are in my elite category. So are Eds, Massillon, Hoban, Avon and Toledo Central Catholic. Those are Ohio's best teams, and they can play each other with different results each time. Thankfully we get to see two of them play in this game. And honestly, that's all that matters.

Drew Pasteur has Moeller winning by 25. That may be a little low.
Pasteur's models don't handle the nuance of things well. Springfield's losses play into the models way too much, and miss the whole story. I think everyone that actually watches high school football knows this game is not a Moeller by 25 kind of game. It gets games right sometimes, but if it was a sportsbook it would go bust quickly.

There's enough data out there between teams playing out of state teams. It's transitive but it's pretty accurate

Just can't call Moeller or Springfield elite when they've been blown out by teams from Indiana (Moeller) and Dematha (Springfield). Just can't do it. Good teams in Ohio? Absolutely, but by no means are either team elite.

I have. They're not good. Region 2 was freaking horrible this year. Moeller is going to win this game by 3-4 TDs, and I say that having a ton of respect for the Springfield program while also despising Moeller. Springfield simply won't hold up against Moeller's offensive line, and then Ponatoski is a big time QB with weapons. Springfield has a good defense, but Moeller has a really good offense and will score. On the other side of the ball, Moeller has one giant weakness but is otherwise excellent. That weakness is that teams can blow their defensive line off the ball if they run right at them. Running to the perimeter doesn't work as this is a very fast defense. You can throw the ball on them somewhat (6.0 ypa allowed); however, you're asking for turnovers as they still give up less than 50% passing and have 20 INT this year. Springfield is not a team that will pound you up the middle, so I can't see them having much success against Moeller's defense.

Moeller wins 31-7.
You are clueless. Blowing Moeller’s D line off the ball. Laughable. You haven’t watched many games

Just like the way St Edward's D wasn't going to be able to handle Springfield's speed the last two years. 🤣 Moeller is more than capable this year. But yes, we shall see.
What does St Edward's D last year or this year have to do with whether Moeller's D can handle SHS on Friday? Are they not completely different teams with different players and different coaches? Btw, did you miss the fact SHS beat Moeller in the playoffs the past 2 years? You have alot of catching up to do..

Don’t think anyone called them elite. Someone said their programs are elite which means over time they have proved to produce great teams. The crux of the argument is national rankings don’t really mean anything and using max preps as a measuring stick has a lot of flaws.

I think you're the one that has some catching up to do after the last two years!😂

I guess I'm kind of impressed that a SE poster is posting on this game here. Seems like he/she/they/them are very interested in the outcome of this game and are a little apprehensive about a SE repeat. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :cool::cool::banana::banana::banana::banana::stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot:

Yes. It sounds to me like he's a bit intimidated about the prospect of facing SHS this year. Alot of these people are. On the one hand, they opine SHS has no chance on Friday. Yet, they seem to be devoting an awful lot of time and attention discussing a team they ostensibly suggest cannot compete. It seems inconsistent...

I was at the Eds Moeller game in week #9 at Lakewood Stadium where Moeller took us to the last play with an incomplete (thankfully) pass to the end zone on that last play. I'd much prefer to face Springfield than Moeller. I have a very high (perhaps even inflated) view of this Moeller team.

The crux of the argument is getting blown out by out of state teams does not make any team from Ohio elite.

You do realize Springfield would have to beat this Moeller team you're so in love with for Eds to face Springfield right?

Both teams have grown and are better than they were at the beginning of the season. I expect this to be a close game. A healthy JM should be the difference. Even at 70%, he's the best out there.
