Wisconsin could feasibly come back in this game but they need to bench Mellusi (he’s awful) and start running power run more because they’re having success.

I must say that Fickell has been a worse hire for Wisconsin than I originally thought. That guy is just awful and needed to remain at Cincinnati, a program like that is his ceiling.

It was moronic IMO for Fickell to bring in an Air Raid offensive coordinator. That decision is why Wisconsin has been very mediocre at best so far under him.

People can complain all they want about Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, etc., being horrible and uninspiring offensively, but you aren’t getting enough quality guys to those types of schools, whether traditional recruits or transfer portal, to run a spread or air raid style of offense effectively against quality opponents.

Davis Warren has zero business ever taking the field for Michigan again. he was terrible today.

Donovan Edwards continues to largely be MIA in spite of being by far the most explosive playmaker in that offense.

USC is going to pummel these guys in Ann Arbor next week.

The middle tier of the Big Ten is once again an atrocity, with Wisconsin, Purdue and UCLA all getting mollywhopped at home, while Washington lost the Apple Cup to Wazzu. And we all know Michigan is trash now that their competent coaches and resident cheater have moved on.

Notre Dame would fit in quite nicely in that middle tier

Hope so. Would look really bad on the Big Ten if Michigan gives them a better game than they did Texas.

Big Ten is as bad at the middle/bottom as I’ve ever seen it. Recruiting is pretty awful in those spots but they also aren’t maximizing their talent with their coaching selections. Ryan Walter’s and Luke Fickell are nothing more than elite position coaches. They don’t have what it takes to run a Big Ten program.

Can’t imagine it even being close. USC is going to beat them by 3-4 scores. It’ll be like 35-10 or 38-13.

Offense has never been the problem for Lincoln Riley; the problem has been being hot garbage defensively, and at worst, they appear to be at minimum competent defensively this year. I’d argue they may actually be pretty good based on the early results. And they get an extra week to prepare for Michigan with their week 3 bye week.

That would be great. USC needs to beat them as bad as Texas did. Would be good for the Big Ten

Given the schedule and their QB situation, I can’t see Michigan being better than 8-4 at best this year. Lost to Texas, and currently it’s probably a near guarantee they lose to USC, Oregon, and Ohio State.

There is a serious possibility they lose 5-6 games if they have inept offensive performances like they did yesterday against middle and lower tier Big Ten teams.

Illinois might be a problem for them.

Week four schedule:

Illinois at Nebraska
Charlotte at Indiana
Marshall at OSU
Villanova at Maryland
UCLA at LSU
USC at Michigan
Rutgers at Va. Tech
Kent State at Penn State
Northwestern at Washington
Iowa at Minnesota
Michigan State at Boston College
Purdue at Oregon State

Kent State will play sacrificial lamb and come away with $1.6 million. Combine that with the $1.35 million from Tennessee and $1.1 million from Pitt and that's $4.05 million for three games.

Marshall will get $1.6 million from OSU

I'm not sure about Michigan. It's home and they are backed against the wall. Emotion is all in their favor, so they might pull it off.

Illini upsets Nebraska.

It was a great game (as was Stanford vs. Syracuse, thank God for YouTubeTV multiview). Raiola fell apart a bit at the end, but not totally unexpected for a true freshman in his 4th game. Really needs to cut back on the Mahomes cosplaying - fumbled the ball multiple times while trying to do his best Kermit impression. Luke Altmyer looked great for the Fighting Illini.

Nice win for Illinois. Bielema seems to have them on the right track. They have underperformed for a long time IMO and should be consistently middle-tier in the Big Ten and solid due to recruiting proximity to Chicago, St. Louis, and Indy.

Their remaining schedule isn’t bad at all aside from Oregon and going to Penn State. They can beat everyone else, including Michigan. They ought to win at least 8 games and I wouldn’t be surprised if they got to 9-10 wins.
