2024 Three Rivers conference

Greenon and Bethel to the CBC. I heard they’ve applied but don’t know if it’s gotten anywhere.

Bethel doesn’t make sense. I don’t think they’d want to play in the Kenton Trail. Both Greenon and Bethel would be fine in the Mad River.
I know this isn’t the thread, but WTH is Greenon thinking? They came to the OHC because they weren’t competitive in the CBC. Do they feel the OHC is tougher than the CBC (we aren’t) or what?

I actually think the WOAC is a little stronger. Which is weird, because didn’t Covington and Miami East want out because of the lack of competition? Or was that just yappi/huddle rumblings?

Miami East had some decent drives tonight (all passing, no rushing attack at all), but I was shocked how poorly their defense played. I really thought this would be a 1-2 score game.
i am curious who would win east or arcanum? thanks! goodluck next week

Arcanum’s defense appeared better, Miami East’s offense appeared better (but both aren’t that far off from each other). Honestly tough to say. Edge to arcanum, maybe, but I think they’re pretty equal.

And thank you, we have our hands full!

1 more week until Baskeball season for A-Town let him live it up
at the end of the day, I'm just pushing his buttons for my own entertainment. I don't care what the TRC/WOAC does in the playoffs. I'd like to see them succeed but absolutely don't expect it.

Miami East also wants back in the CBC.

Northridge may bolt to the DPS. West Carrollton may join them.

Ben Logan wants in the OHC.

There really should be another conference in the greater Dayton/Springfield area that is exclusively D4/D5 schools.

Graham
Milton
East
Greenon
Northwestern
Kenton Ridge
Greeneview
Bethel

+2 non conference opponents for each every season.

There. It's done. Who do I bill for my consulting services?

Miami East should be in the OHC. I’ve said that for years. It fits like a glove, especially if Greenon leaves. They’re another one who tried the CBC and left.

What's your thought process? I think the two are fairly similar.
they are and I like Greenon being in a league with Bethel.

however, try driving to North Union from Bethel on a weeknight.

also, Bethel/Greenon would get killed if they got put in the Kenton Trail.

You have it mostly backwards. The CCC wanted Bethel and Miami East out of the conference because in general they were dominating too many sports, and the culture of those schools was rapidly changing compared to the rural schools if western Miami, Montgomery and Dark counties. Covington was allowed to stay, but they figured they wanted to have better competition for especially their girls sports, so they went with Bethel and Miami East.

So you think the conference that kicked the dominating schools out is better than the conference that formed around them? That's fine, at the very top the WOAC has been stronger, but overall the TRC does not have a Bradford, Newton, Franklin Monroe, Tri County North or National Trail in their system. I'm speaking of all sports, not just football.

Or Dixie, don't want to forget Dixie. Mississinawa?

Since we are talking about all sports, the top of the WOAC is better at nearly every sport compared to the TRC.

TRC as I have posted a couple of times, what an odd league yes there needs to be another D4 D5 league

WOAC is not better than the TRC as the mid to bottom of the WOAC is so so bad. WOAC, top is better at the current time

And conversely you could say the top of the TRC is better at nearly every sport when compared to the WOAC. Guess that shows how neither conference is all that strong. The WOAC does have the gold standard Patriots though, so you could be correct.

Don't want to take anything away from Northridge and Lehman, yes of course TRC football is not very strong
Concur. WOAC fans must conveniently forget about 2/3 of their conference when trying to claim competitive advantage as a whole. Sure the top 4 of the WOAC would do just fine in the TRC but the middle on down would not, especially in sports other than football.

I think it was the size of Bethel and ME schools not their dominance that pushed them out. You're gonna have to remind me of what sports Bethel was dominating. ME had some very good girls teams that went to state in multiple sports but other than that I don't remember either school dominating the rest of the league. Put those two schools in a conference where they are 2-3 divisions smaller than most of the league and I'd like to see how they compete in all sports.

I did a little research this evening, and yes , there are three primary dominant schools from the CCC covering the last twenty years, Bethel, Miami East and Tri Village. National Trail had its dominance in baseball, and Franklin Monroe in soccer though if it wasn't FM winning the conference in soccer it was Bethel.

On the girls side, for soccer Bethel and Miami East pretty much controlled things winning 11 of 14 titles in one stretch. Miami East controlled volleyball. Bethel and Miami East along with Tri Village won the vast majority of basketball titles, though that sport was by far the most competitive including one year where there was a 4 way tie at 9-2 in conference play.

I do recall Arcanum pitching the biggest fit of all schools along with the Newton AD. Arcanum is missing from nearly every sport as a champ in the last 20 years. That seems very odd to me? Tri County North has a basketball Title, I believe South had a football title, Newton won a few things perhaps golf. But Arcanum was truly conspicuously absent. Franklin Monroe won soccer and basketball titles, Ansonia had a couple basketball as well.

So yes, a careful dig into the CCC record books will reveal three schools who dominated , and through football Covington was probably the next school with the most all sports titles.

As for the actual ALL SPORTS TROPHY, Miami East did win it 11 years in a row from 07/08- 17/18, then Arcanum won it in 18/19. Covington was by far number two in the all sports trophy category. Eleven years in a row is pretty dominant, think you would agree Roader fan?

I would agree 11 years in a row is pretty dominant. But how many of the CCC schools could actually field teams in all of the sports? Probably only ME, Bethel and Arcanum. Most of the smaller schools wouldn't be able to field competitive or even a team in football, soccer, golf, wrestling, cross country, and track. That's where the larger schools in the league had a huge advantage competing for an All Sports Trophy. The fact that Covington competed for it is impressive. Again, would like to see how ME and Bethel will do if they do switch to a league where they're playing up a couple of divisions instead of down.
