2024 St. Ignatius Football

Freshman lose to Moeller. Pick 6 and fumble returned for a TD were the difference for the Crusaders.
That’s gotta be something to look forward to the future, I don’t think anyone has scored 2 tds much less 3 vs moe fr. There defense is tough.

Ok so ya'll have seen both teams. Big Moe takes on St.Eds next week I think? Who do you like in this one and why? I'm most def getting my tickets early for this one as soon as they go up!

I think Moe wins but Eds is much better on both sides of the ball than Ignatius. (Which isn’t saying much but still)

It’s just insult to injury at this point. If they refuse to forfeit, they should just take a knee for every play for the rest of the season. The cherry on top of this $h!t sundae will be a final defeat to a team from Canada in week 10.

Maybe elyria or glenoak can win 1 to put the nightmare season to rest after week 10. Should lose the next 2
Don't know much about Elyria, but the GlenOak program is in a state of chaos, should probably go winless for the season. St. Ignatius should fill-out the 16th spot in the computer rankings and play Mentor in round #1. Overall, Iggy should end up at 1-10.

I have never seen a football team in the SWC as ineffective as this Elyria team. Not being mean because kids, but they will not win a game.

I think Glen Oak will beat Mansfield Senior, but I don't think that will get them enough points to overtake St. Ignatius for the 16th spot, even if St. Ignatius loses to Football North. Glen Oak needs to beat Massillon Perry to have a chance, and I don't see that happening.

Really cant beleive the above comments are being made about Ignatius football. Fighting for a 16th seed. Never thought this would happen in my lifetime.

If GlenOak beats Mansfield, they would then either need to beat Perry next week or have Mansfield beat Madison next week to surpass St. Ignatius' current points. If Coffman beats Hilliard Bradley next week, then GlenOak needs to win out. I don't think GlenOak will beat Perry next week, but Perry is scuffling right now, and Perry's current head coach's career record in league games is a paltry 3-19.

If Franzinger is going to be replaced, my idea is to make BW Coach Hilvert a solid offer. He has already won state title at LaSalle and knows area well. Good guy who could stabilize program.

I don't think I would be in a hurry to leave a good, stable D3 program to jump into that hornet's nest.

I think the only respectable option for the Cats to do at this point is to forfeit the playoff game. Somehow it’s less embarrassing… just voluntarily end your season after losing to this team from Canada… give Mentor a bye week. It’s more respectable. They have zero business being in a playoff spot.

Some good news. Top offensive lines in NEO:

1. St. Ignatius: Combine five returning starters with LeCharles Bentley as the line coach, and St. Ignatius has as strong of a starting point up front as any team. Junior tackle Will Conroy is four-star prospect, a bookend with 6-7 Michael van der Oord. Leo Rick is starting to pick up offers entering his senior season, able to play guard or center, while sophomore Drake Vander Cica earned time down the stretch as a freshman.

Would we still say that St Ignatius has the best OL in NEO or is this due to coaching or even false advertising?

We can’t imagine it either. I recall being bothered when Ignatius lost a game or two games and only made the regional final.

So many things had to happen for this to get so bad- and they all did.

BW is not stable though, they are facing massive budget cuts. The university is in trouble and has cut programs across the board. Also BW cannot advance to playoffs because of that giant juggernaut located in Alliance. JCU beats them regularly too. Ignatius could make it worthwhile financially for Hilvert. I guarantee he’d listen.

Amen. You do have seniors trying to finish their high school playing “careers” strong, yet you have these supposed “men for others” on here saying they should just quit. It’s shameful.
It’s pretty disgusting. Maybe they are but it would be great if the men on this site would do something be it big or small to help move the program forward. Whining on the internet fixes nothing.

And what is that supposed to be? This is a meaningless HS football message forum- not the board room of the school.

Some of us pay and have paid for tickets for decades to support the program (and will have a son in the program.) Stop acting like you know what’s going on because you don’t.
