2024 St. Ignatius Football

Because of that 2 lost titles!
“It is the way.” Was my comical way to deflect from your ridiculous comment that Mentor has the worst D in the top 10 in the region over teams like Lorain, Jackson and Findlay.

But we came full circle so there you go, it all worked out and you got the response. Well done , well done. 😄

Start with a sane schedule. Put the kids in a position to be successful.
They need to start by purging the coaching staff the way Eds did after the 2008 season. A winning culture with accountability for the student athletes on and off the field was what put Ignatius over the top in the late 80s and over the next 20 years. The AD will never do what needs to be done to fix it, I hope I’m wrong but I can’t help but think money and politics are a factor preventing needed change. For some weird reason, they are able to build and maintain state and nationally respected programs in soccer, hockey, basketball, lacrosse, rugby, and baseball…. all while allowing football to become a dumpster fire? It doesn’t pass the smell test for me.

The basketball, hockey and soccer programs don’t simply rest on their laurels the way the football program has done. They promote their respective programs as aggressively as you can. Why there isn’t the same effort being made for the football program is a question above my paygrade.

As far as the success of the lacrosse , rugby and baseball programs, that’s more of the product of good coaches and having the largest male student population in the state.

Franzinger being removed is a pipe dream. It won't happen for another 2 years at least. He's been entrenched in the program for over a decade before taking over, and was apart of one of the school's most iconic state title teams.

Maybe Frazinger will resign lol ? As an alumni and someone who has been with the program for so long maybe he will come to the realization he’s not the guy and won’t be. Maybe he will be a true “men for others” 😂

Retake reading comprehension! Quote "Mentor may have the worst defense in the top 10 teams in the region!" from my post.
So you think may have and has mean the same, wow!

Im pretty sure I “May have” failed all of my reading comprehension classes which means maybe I failed all of them , maybe none of them.

“May have the worst” still indicates in your mind they may be 10th out of 10 , which remains a terrible take given the teams I listed.

That is all.

Ok. Time to break my silence. I hope you all know the players read this page, and see what you guys are all saying. The players who are supported very much appreciate it, but those who aren’t, it is unfortunate how much it affects them. Other kids recognize a lot of people on this forum are rather unintelligent and are reliving their glory days from high school, and do not have any clue about football.

If that were true, they are getting no support from the coaches, their parents and team mates, pretty sad?
They are also stupid to be reading this site!!!!!!!

I'd be shocked if anyone on the team knows about this website. I'm sure they're hearing and seeing stuff on social media though.

Your D1 recruits are going to have a hard time dealing with the next level if they’re going to let criticism of the coaches get to them.

Per the " Enquirer":

St. Ignatius outgained the Bombers 360-336 for the game, but was just 3-10 on third-down conversions. St. Xavier was 4-11 on third down, but was also 4-5 on converting fourth-down tries. St. Ignatius quarterback Dane Donovan was 16-27 for 306 yards. Trey Haddad had seven receptions for 154 yards.

To be honest, the players and families know exactly what is wrong with the program. Just ask any of them and they will tell you in a diplomatic way. Also, talk to ignatius coaches of other programs— they have a good feel for what is wrong too. There are a lot of factors to play— and many of you are onto something with some of your statements— and totally off on other statements.

And regarding the posters who claim to have not taken shots at the players. There are 40 pages of comments that say otherwise. Urging these kids to “forfeit games” so anonymous keyboard warriors like yourselves won’t be embarrassed? Calling out some kids by name— or initials (or numbers). Come on. Don’t play innocent when in fact that’s what you have done.

What I really don’t get is whose life is so pathetic that they come on here at midnight on a Friday night to trash talk a football program they claim to care so much about?

I hope they play well next week, make the playoffs and make some noise. Not to satisfy anonymous posters, not for the coaches, not for the “program”, but for each other. These kids have had to go through some real crap the past two years and I hope their hard work pays off.

As the program is about to get swept on all levels for the second straight weekend, it’s important to focus on the positive. A few parents are controlling the program, and the rest of the parents know what’s going on, but sit by and let it happen.

That’s how change happens.

Reading all of this makes me sad. I am an Ignatius graduate. When I was there, winning state titles in football wasn’t in our wildest dreams. The nice part about that was that there was also no place for arrogance or sticking up our noses at local public schools. Heck, my father was a machinist and I rode the bus from our home near St. Leo’s and was very proud to attend Saint Ignatius.

Much has changed. Now I wish I was reading was sarcastic comments about the “Slow White Conference”, Mentor or Strongsville. Nope. Now it’s page after page of the same old shots at the coaches, players and parents. I’m afraid the worst part is that some of the firing squad are parents.

Where is the joy? Perhaps a reminder of the grad at grad, or the fact that it is HIGH SCHOOL football is needed.

Wildcat97, I’m talking to you. I figure you are 44 or so. I think it’s time to let it go man.

Go to a game, get a popcorn, bring a small shot of rum for your hot cocoa and enjoy yourself. Who knows, maybe you can even clap along to the incomparable script cats!

Sorry but you signed up for this when you aligned with St. Ignatius. It is a school with a deep history of academic rigor and success. It is a school with distinguished alumni all over the country. It is also a school with incredible athletic tradition that has experienced unparalleled success. With all of these things come high expectations and enormous pressure to continue the traditions. Many people outside of Ignatius are celebrating the fall of this program; I am not. Personally I think Northeast Ohio football is at its best when their is balance between Ignatius and Ed’s.
