Penn State #12? Laughable.
They've got a nice win over #16 Iowa. I think it would be interesting to see Iowa play Ohio State. I don't think they would win, but their defense is solid, could they give the Buckeyes trouble? On the flip side, Ohio State would probably find a way to score at least once on defense, with how anemic the Iowa offense is.

Iowa has no business being ranked. Nice defense, but as a whole that team sucks and would get massively exposed outside the comfort of the atrocious Big Ten West. Note how they ducked both Ohio State and Michigan, so their only decent opponent all season was when they gained 76 yards and got shut out 31-0 by AEW #21 Penn State.

IOWA LOST AT HOME TO MINNESOTA.

Iowa would be lucky to score 10 points against OSU, and that only if they had a defense or special teams score.

I completely agree. Ohio State would win that game, I would be shocked if they lost. The Buckeyes just have had some struggles on offense this year, so would be interesting to see the Iowa D matchup with the Buckeye O. Iowa would be completely overmatched on offense against Ohio State's defense.

I guess the nightmare scenario right now is undefeated Big 10, Pac 12, and ACC champs + 1-loss Texas Big 12 champ + Alabama SEC champ + 1-loss Georgia. There's really no way to not leave the SEC out other than screwing over Texas.

If you're the PAC 12 and it's unbeaten UW vs Oregon in the conference championship, how much palm grease do you give the Ducks to pull a Wisconsin?

Georgia, Meechigan, Ohio State, and AL A BAM A??? Or would you think that an undefeated Washington would eliminate the Gumps? Course, I almost wish that the twelve team playoff was already here. You talk about must see TV. THIS would be MY twelve. What do you think?

UGA, Alabama, Missouri, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, Oregon, Washington, Florida State, and Clemson.

The fringe would possibly be Mississippi, Miami, Louisville, Washington State, Utah, and Oregon State.

Penn State has no business being in a 12-team playoff. My 12 would be:

Byes (which should be awarded to the four best teams, not tied to championships of always-changing conferences):

1. Georgia
2. Oregon
3. Alabama
4. Ohio State

First round:

12. Arizona at 5. Washington
11. Louisville at 6. Michigan
10. Missouri at 7. Florida State
9. Notre Dame at 8. Texas

First teams out:

13. Clemson
14. Oregon State
15. Oklahoma
16. Ole Miss

My four-team and 12-team playoff:

1. Georgia
2. Oregon
3. Alabama
4. Ohio State

First round:

12. Arizona at 5. Washington
11. Louisville at 6. Michigan
10. Missouri at 7. Florida State
9. Notre Dame at 8. Texas

First teams out:

13. Clemson
14. Oregon State
15. Oklahoma
16. Ole Miss

Rounding out the Top 25:

17. LSU
18. Utah
19. Tennessee
20. Kansas State
21. Penn State
22. UCLA
23. North Carolina
24. USC
25. Miami

You are saying Alabama is going to beat Georgia in the Sec title game? I can't see a two loss team getting in. The loser of the OSU and Micheater game will probably not get in either.

People have already forgotten Texas beat Alabama? The SEC is not going to let Alabama beat Georgia if FSU, UW, and OSU/UM are unbeaten

“The Big Ten is 1-6 in the CFP from the 2015 season forward. Think about that.”

And the SEC is winless in the CFP previous to the 2015 season…. including the #1 seed Bama getting smoked by the #4 seed Buckeyes! Think about that!

Wow, so the SEC didn’t win a CFP game in the inaugural 2014 CFP season. After winning the national championship in 7 of the 8 seasons preceding the CFP. And winning 6 of the 8 national championships from 2015 to 2022. What an argument! I’m swayed!

Just playing your games….

All time wins in college football

Big 10 has 3 teams in top 10 including number 1 Michigan

SEC has 1 team in top 10

No one cares about ancient history. The last time the Big Ten was good was around the same time Moses parted the Red Sea. Speaking of which, Moses could part any team’s defense and the Big Ten West still wouldn’t be able to score a touchdown.

The Big 10 West scored 17 touchdowns against P5 OOC opponents. I expect accuracy to go along with your wordsmithery, AEW.

“The Big Ten is 1-6 in the CFP from the 2015 season forward. Think about that.”

You could’ve made a much more compelling argument had you included all of the CFP years, but by choosing to ignore the one year OSU won the championship, you blew it.

The rest of the Big Ten sans Ohio State has zero CFP wins. If you want to say someone blew it, you should point your finger at that collective.

I don't know why the big ten gets a pass, well I know why, it's the midwest viewers and the strength of the big ten fan bases in Ohio and Michigan. The CPF committee can't not take one of the teams and it's been set up this way since the jump. It's mostly the winner of the Ohio State and Michgan game who goes to the playoffs. The big ten west is awful and always has been.
I could make a case that you leave both out this year. Michigan has no significant wins. Penn State doesn't count anymore.

My top 4
Georgia
Washington
Florida State
Ohio State

Michigan
Oregon
Alabama

The real mess could some conference championship weekend if Alabama and Oregon win. If FSU wins out, they have to be in. Regardless of what you think about their schedule and their QB being out. The Ohio State / Michigan winner will be in after they pound Iowa in the big ten championship. The Georgia / Alabama winner would get in from the SEC final.

As long as they don’t repeat the farcical blunder of taking two Big Ten teams, I probably won’t have too many complaints. If there’s a path where UGA, Bama and Oregon all make the playoff, that’s what I’d like to see play out because those appear to be the three best teams in the country to my eyes.
So they shouldn't have taken OSU last year despite them nearly beating UGA?

Oregon 96th, Washington 54th, and Georgia 63rd, all have weaker schedules than Michigan 51.

Washington moved up to 4th this week in the CFP rankings.

Chaos is always possible in college football, but the chalk IMO barring upsets is set:

1. UGA
2. Ohio State/Michigan winner
3. Washington/Oregon rematch winner
4. Florida State

The quirks are:

1. Alabama and UGA will both be in if the Crimson Tide win the SEC championship game (Florida State out if less than outstanding the next couple weeks? Definitely out with a loss)

2. Texas is in if they win out and they get either a Florida State loss, some PAC turmoil that includes at least one of those two teams losing their rivalry game this week, or an Iowa win over Ohio State/Michigan

The delusional committee still has Penn State at #11 and Incompetent Iowa at #17. For comparison’s sake, Notre Dame is #18 and we all know Notre Dame would leave Iowa bloodied in an infinite corn maze.

Also, Oregon at #6 remains a joke. That’s easily a Top 4 team. Move Michigan down to #6 where I have them.

The lack of football judgment of the committee remains an extreme concern, and I fear it will get worse next year given some of their bizarre choices once you get into the teens in the rankings.

They are all below Michigan.

There’s no way in hell Michigan has the 10th hardest schedule in the country. And certainly no way Penn State has the second-toughest schedule when they play two good opponents and 10 cupcakes. Whatever metrics that site is using should be thrown in the trash.
