If you have attended every game the last three years, as I have, you'd realize your statements are mostly wrong. First, the status of the program is embarrassing and is a result of poor management/oversight (Asbeck) and decision making (head coach selection) by Hyzdu. Four coaches in four years has taken a toll in numerous ways and the rebuild will likely be long. With the exception of two games, this team is far more competitive. The offense, while not dynamic, is significantly better than 2018 team - which won the GCL. The difference is the 2018 team had a stellar defense that only gave up 18 pts per game (less than 14 in the first 7 games). Winning is the only measure that counts and this year is the same as last year, which is disappointing. But this team is far improved over last year and continued to improve this season, granted last week was a big step backwards. Nauman in a bizarre fashion said every week was "great" despite being blown out and the season was a "success." Complete opposite, Elder has taken blame for issues, on multiple occasions said he needs to do better and said the record is unacceptable. Is the team young, yes because the coaching changes have driven players out of the program and school. Establish a process, a system, a culture for more than a couple years and the retention of players will improve and the wins will come. Thanks to Hyzdu's poor oversight and coaching selections these kids and teams never stood a chance. Moving forward, with time, I think Elder will have success.
