2010 NBC softball

I can tell you is not going to win Canton south there in for a tuff season . There coach well lets just say should stick with being a janitor or should i say sanitatoin expert

I don't think West Branch will win the NBC, but I think they will be more inproved since having only 3 seniors from last year team gone from a 5-20 season. I think they will be near .500 record but don't think they will do very well with the way the coach at wB puts the lineup together every year...:wallbang:

South could be a sleeper this year. They have 3 or 4 girls from the basketball team that are coming out, and they were pretty solid softball players at one. If they can shake the rust off, they could surprise. R Montgomery and A Norcia are the only returning starters.

South was senior dominated last year and was the biggest disappointment in the league. South had to be the league favorite last year but Louisville surprised and is the team to beat again this year. Who does South have pitching to replace Bowles?

Lady Leopards bring back a young team with a lot of talent back that won the NBC last year.

Both starting pitchers from last year back last I heard. Brittany Flanigan who started as a Freshman is back, and Emily Lemmon; and there could be a real problem for coach Givens as they had some very good jv pitchers last year.

Givens' daughter Desi is back in the infield and Soph. Emily Isla at catcher. Both are top-rate travel ball players; same with Flanigan.

Louisville has a frosh who will probably start that can knock the cover off the ball. Another travel ball player.

South has no pitching and only 2 top travel players and 1 is a fresh and the other a soph and before everyone starts the you dont gotta be a travel player to be good . I already know this but out of the last 5 years in this county 97 out of a hundred d1 players all were on travel teams . The point is south is not very good or very well coached they only practice 3 times a week .

Thats a shame got some great kids at south there basketball teams great .But i think your right about 2 things one there coach is really bad and 2 we played against that freshman at clev state and she is a beast . But some one told me she is a soph .

The point is practice shouldn't start until March 8th (OHSAA) regulations... so how could you know that they only practice three times a week? Plus, they have a new coach, so how can anyone judge him?

ws23ahater
The question was who wins the NBC...Louisville is always tough along with Minerva and Marlington, however, ws23ahater just to get your facts straight, South may be the sleeper as 11 jv/var girls have played travel ball.

I just looked at that and it says feb 22 and I thought there coach was the old jv coach ? Check your facts and let me know

Well they all started right on time and from what I hear its the first time some of them picked up a ball In a very long time . I think Alliance wins the NBC

Louisville won't be able to sneak up on anyone this year after surprising everyone last year. Most of Louisville's team is back so I'd call them a favorite. Alliance has a very good pitcher, but what else?

Louisville is real good they may well be the top team in the nbc .

They'll find out just how good they are due to Coach Givens scheduling some more Fed teams this year.

Good idea. They have to "go thru the Fed" to get out of the district so they need to play tougher competition during the season to prepare.

They were tops in the NBC last year and I believe very unsuccessful in their games against the FL teams.

True. I think the Lady Leps got a bit nervous playing the 'big' league teams and hopefully are maturing and can stay cool under pressure this year. A very young team. Starter Flanigan is still only a sophomore, as is starting catcher Isla - both excellent players. Pretty exciting for Leopard fans to know they have girls of that quality back for more years. #2 pitcher is also a sophomore and travel ball player.

I think Louisville has played Hoover, McKinley, Glen Oak and Lake about four or five years in a row at least. I don't think Givens was the first to do this.

I think Louisville will win it and Alliance will be a close second. they have more than just pitching and they now have a coach that knows the game.

Minerva, Marlington and Carrollton will fight for the next three spots.

South, Northwest and West Branch will be the last three.

Kasson, Yes, I believe those are the girls that Notacsfan23 is referring to as not playing softball in 2 years.

i am glad to see greene and robinson back out on the fiel. robinson could hit and greene was a good little player. i'm sure they might be rusty but with practice, i'm sure they'll be fine. also hear kati schneider is playing.

Robinson did not look rusty at all im not sure about the Greene kid I only saw one scrimm . If your a coach and your kid plays a key spot in a program with good players you better be good enough to play that spot .If not that horrible word DADDY BALL is gonna come out alot . Lets hope what I saw was that rust your talking about cause there are some real good players behind her .
