bluengold,PDC - did Martin show any receiver capability? He has athleticism and speed.
The varsity receivers that are starting are tall - Bodamer is the shortest at 6'1". Tompkins is 6'3", Vollmer is 6'5", TE Ward is 6'5" and his back-up Moriarity is 6'4". Is there enough speed?
The JV LT is James Raynor (6'6", 290#) , who is also listed on the varsity roster. I believe he is Henry's ('21 basketball) younger brother
I think the back-up RB is Steve Favazzo, who sat out the McKinley scrimmage.
Martin looked quick and big enough to play on the Varsity. Again, very limited action, but the starting WRs, while tall, were not separating much on routes.
Overall the offense should run ok but it's not exactly filled with any speed.
I watched Raynor in the JV scrimmage and he did well. Huge kid, still working into the role.
I believe at any other school Martin would be starting on the Varsity in some position.
Springfield will be a tall order. They are loaded with skill and burners on the outside. The Ignatius WRs might have a tough time getting open.
