Canton McKinley has a new S&C coach:
you are right Ed. A recent example is Louisville . People can act like clowns and its easy if you have 85 players on your team.

Minerva is 4-95 since 2015....if I was Zak Slates I am not so sure...but to stay and teach at the school that just let you go as the head coach may have been worse

thats unreal that Minerva is that bad . I meen St Thomas has a 26-62 record since 2015 and they have like 25 players every yr barely , There is no reason Minerva should be this bad NONE. Slates will fix it though i think .Starts with the yoots program

Wow. Perry has had an amazing Winter sports season, and it's not over yet.
The Wrestling team was State Runner-up in the OHSAA State Championships AND the OHSWCA State Dual Meet Championships .
They had 3 individual State Champions in Mason Rohr, Joseph Sanderfer, and Landen Johnson.
The Basketball team is in the State Finals and will play the winner of Westerville North and Toledo St Francis de Sales on Friday.

Let’s not forget about Carolyn Geckler winning her state title as a freshman. Also, Andrew Ramos won his weight class at Freshman States. Go Perry!

Yup, I thought there was 4 Champs but forgot to look at the girls results. Congrats to her as well.

Maybe tiger fan will laugh at this list of stark county sports programs that have more, or the same, amount of state championships as Massillon football
Perry softball, Perry wrestling, Jackson basketball, Jackson baseball, McKinley football, McKinley basketball, glenoak baseball, Hoover softball, Perry/ Hoover speech and debate, Louisville basketball, Minerva cross country, Louisville softball, central catholic football, central catholic baseball, st Thomas aquinas football.

Others that have won more than 1 OHSAA Team State Championships are McKinley Swimming, Girls Volleyball, Baseball; Aquinas Boys CC and Girls Track; East Canton Boys CC and Track; Alliance Boys Track; Canton Central Catholic Boys Golf; and Marlington Boys CC.
That’s 20 different teams that have won more than 1 Team State Championship.

McKinley football already gets plenty of transfers, so not sure if much will change because of this. It might further hurt GlenOak though, as that district reliably loses its best athletes to other high schools.

We gotta get our numbers up.
McKinley has won 2 or 3 state baseball championships, many years ago, but remain part of the Bulldogs 27 state team titles, as they should.
