You're not wrong. The combined total for first second and honorable mention teams was 77 players. Roughly 40% of the league's starters made one of the lists. I think there should just be one all-league team with eleven guys on offense and eleven on defense, plus one kicker and one punter. This isn't the NFL where you have 32 teams. What that tells me is there are way too many kids on the all-league team.![]()
The way you want it done is would be the correct way....but when the league had Boardman and Fitch in it also...the meeting of the coaches for all league would take 5 to 6 hours on the Sunday after the season would end. A majority of the teams were in the playoffs and just found out that morning officially who they would play the next Friday...those coaches did not want to be there 5 to 6 hours. Also the discussion could get contentious....it was decided to go the route they did to keep the meeting shorter and you could nominate your best players no matter of position. Remember this was implemented when they had 9 teamsYou're not wrong. The combined total for first second and honorable mention teams was 77 players. But the all-FL team does give us a hint as to who the top players will be in 2025, and which teams have the most talent coming back.
But as stated in the other thread, Green hasn't benefited from OE, their CB number is zero.I agree with the Mck folks who are confused as to why Fed fans are so mad about the idea of them having open enrollment but not caring at all that Perry and Green have it.
News flash people: Green and Perry are the only Fed schools that have made deep postseason runs lately!! Not to mention that Perry uses it to absolutely dominate wrestling
Must have heard Tyrell is getting the job and ran scared!!Canton McKinley second week is now open.
Highlands doesn't want to play McKinley now
I have a feeling Treharn a sophomore will be the qb but we’ll seePerry has a decent nucleus back, but will need to find a QB. The bulk of their talent lays in the junior and sophomore’s to be, especially the sophs after going 9-0 this past fall.
I’ve been trying to get some information on who has applied so far, but coming up with zilch. I’ll keep pounding the pavement lol, and try to find out some info. Knowing the media, if the actual cutoff date for applications is 1/3/25, then I look for the media to find out, because it’s public knowledge after that.
Do you think the current Stark County media pool would even bother to ask. I mean they barely cover the games anymore.Folks are circulating rumors about who has or will be applying for the Perry job and I’m not going repeat any of them. A person walked up to me in Walgreens saying he heard this guy, that guy and another guy. All I know is after they have all the apps in and the media requests the names, they’ll have to be released. No use repeating names and if they’re not true, making a coach’s current situation awkward. Once the names are revealed via the media, those interested individuals will have their own explaining to do. Personally I don’t believe in holding a grudge on a coach looking to improve his situation by moving up to a bigger school.
Just my personal opinion, Perry should only look at experienced head coaches with decent track records. Meaning the vast majority of their seasons are over .500. I just don’t think the Federal League is a place for on the job training. I know there are exceptions to that rule, Rohr is one at Jackson and I can go back to Demaree at Perry, who was a 13 year defensive coordinator for the Panthers before he took over for Tom Winkhart, but those instances are more the exception than the rule.
Amtonio Hall come to mind, or no??I know there are exceptions to that rule, Rohr is one at Jackson and I can go back to Demaree at Perry, who was a 13 year defensive coordinator for the Panthers before he took over for Tom Winkhart, but those instances are more the exception than the rule.
Got anything yet?Folks are circulating rumors about who has or will be applying for the Perry job and I’m not going repeat any of them. Just my opinion. The reason for my comment is from my many years around the game, the majority of the time you see a coach from maybe a smaller D-2, D-3 or D-4 move up. There could be a coach from a D-1 school that looks at his situation and decides to go to D-2 as well. It’s not that big of a jump down. It’s all relative. Is this sentence a clue?
On Perry’s schedule, Jackson is away this year.
Thanks Dave, great work as always.Updated schedules post #1 (1/7/25)
According to the McKinley thread the Hoban DC is going to be the new head coach of the Pups.I was listening to Sam Bourquin doing the Perry at Hoover basketball game and he hinted that McKinley could possibly be making an important announcement on Monday concerning their football program. Sounds like a new coach is ready to take over.
Just noticed that Green changed their logo? Why? It's ugly.2025 Federal League Football Official Thread

Not sure why but there is a new 'G' on their Green School District page...could be that it was too close to the Green Bay Packers logo and someone said to them to stop its use.Just noticed that Green changed their logo? Why? It's ugly.
Not sure why it was changed, but it looks more "modern". I like the old one better. Not sure why but there is a new 'G' on their Green School District page...could be that it was too close to the Green Bay Packers logo and someone said to them to stop its use.
