2025 Federal League Football Official Thread

I for one, being a Fed outsider, am anxiously awaiting to see what the league will do, if anything, if the pups do decide to go to open enrollment. Maybe I should stock up on popcorn!!

Yes they are going to Open Enrollment in March and for the 2025-26 school year
 
I don't think Slates, or any other football coach, can have success at Minerva as long as the Lions stay in the EBC. I get that they compete in other sports, but football brings in the most money and it's the sport the community cares most about. Staying in a conference where you have one win in ten years is madness.

Slates can have flashes of getting his teams to punch above their weight. I hope he can prove you wrong!

They can win in the EBC, the problem is not the conference. They have to retain their athletes from Junior High consistently, make strides in the weight room, and win their out of conference games as often as they can. The map to being relevant again is laid out there right in front of them

I would slightly disagree based on his track record at Perry.

He will need to build enthusiasm and discipline to make Minerva just start to compete again. It will be a huge undertaking, I am curious how it goes, I hope he is able to make Minerva respectable again.
 
I wish Zach the best at Minerva, but that will be a HUGE mountain to climb. Looking back at their records 2 wins since 2014? Yikes! Changing a culture is not easy. Believe me, I know of what I speak. It’s not impossible, but it will definitely take time and patience.
 
Horrible news, I have been informed that the new "G" is indeed official, as Green is undergoing a rebrand of the athletic department. Green does not own the old one, and the school is changing because they are afraid of getting sued. The new one is copyrighted by the school district, which is a waste of money because no one would ever want to steal it because it looks so bad. The new elementary and middle schools under construction right now will only have the new one. As for the high school, the current logo will remain until the next time the turf and basketball court are replaced. Not sure if the football helmets and jerseys will be different next year or not. Enjoy the old look while you can.

I think his signature win was AT McKinley in 2022 I think? That was a game I didn’t expect them to win but he did.

In these sports-mad school districts of the 330 south of 224....asking for input on the logo would have generated more goodwill. Of course I'm Gen X and care about this stuff.

While all of Ohio is sports-crazy there is an increased enthusiasm south of 224. IMO.

Now if Rego's designed a logo you'd have super tuffness. Maybe they should design one not only for Green but Orrville, too.*

*Multiple Yappi forum jokes for those who read here on a regular basis.

GlenOak had to do the same thing with the G they had and then again with the Eagle with wings spread over the lettering Eagles and GlenOak - too close to Philadelphia NFL and Green Bay NFL and 100% would have been sued had they not changed it.
The Hall of Fame won't allow an image of it in graphics I have produced for McKinley and the city of Canton (not CCS) for copywriter purposes which I find extreme.
