Beating JFK on Tuesday night would be icing on the cake of a great tournament run!
For all of the talk about the WCAL being down compared to previous years, the conference has fared relatively well in this year's tournament. Smithville scored a huge upset win in the sectional finals, and then hung tough for a half with eventual district champion Canton Central Catholic. Dalton has won all three of their games against teams of similar talent........all three opponents had very good seasons. Even Norwayne probably hung tougher than expected against Buchtel in their sectional final game. Norwayne found out what Dalton dealt with for many years...........part of tournament success is how well you play, but a bigger part of it is who you are playing against. Thankfully for the Norwayne faithful, I would guess the Bobcats will be D4 in the new 7 division setup next season.
Absolutely! If they can find a way to control Nick Ryan, they have a chance to pull the upset. JFK will be hungry to avenge last year's loss against Dalton. I see a lot of hype about JFK vs Richmond Heights in the finals..........maybe JFK looks past Dalton tonight? Probably wishful thinking considering what happened between the two teams last year.
