I think Tallmadge will surprise alot of people next year. Tallmadge's offense was very competitive this past season and returns almost all their offensive skill positions. Starting QB (Hurst), starting RB (Thomas), starting WRs (Dexter, Yacobucci, Dixon, Hederson). Nate Amato is the lone Senior that Tallmadge is losing that had over 100 offensive yards this season (174 rushing/30 receiving).

Tallmadge's defense was very young too. They struggled throughout the season but if they can grow and develop this off-season, they could challenge for the top of the league.

Barberton only had 5 seniors on the team this year. Playing that tough schedule and returning most of their team will payoff big in 2021. Tough, tough schedule though with Louisville, Stow and St. V as the non league schedule.

Pieced these together from a couple of sources. Hope everyone can fill in the open dates:

Barbertons non league is @Louisville, Stow and St. Vincent St. Mary

With Lee throwing ball 56 times a game, Aurora wins Suburban. If Lee throws less then 20, look out for Magics.

Been out of the loop for a couple of years now as far as really following HS football. I don't know anything about Aurora, and not much more about Barberton. I know Barberton was really young last year and didn't get their legs under them until just before the playoffs. I know Gotto is a system coach, but I thought last years team was more of a power offence, not so much running the spread. Would like to see the power game utilized more this season when the situation is appropriate based on the opponent.

I wouldn’t sleep on Highland this year. They graduated a 3-4 starters total. Most of the skill positions are back including a real deal RB who will be junior. They return the QB and a WR - who missed all of 2020 with a fractured leg that happened in the 1st half of the first game and they are both legit. The O-line lost 2 starters but could and should be very good. All that said I think the strength of the team might be the defense, they are returning almost all of the starters on that unit.

Should be a very interesting and entertaining season in and Suburban American.

Talmadge should be competitive. Their QB looked very impressive when I watched him Week One last season. Very good group of receivers too. If they can find some big guys to play on the O-line, look out.

It's too bad that Talmadge and Green aren't playing this year. Would have been fun to see two historic rivals and two explosive passing attacks go at it again. I'll be rooting for the Blue Devils to win this league.

So let's talk about Aurora vs Barberton because we all know that is what this season will come down to. Last year would feel like a throw out because of Covid and the teams not knowing if they would even have a practice, let alone a season. With both teams having a low senior class turnout last season, both teams will be returning a lot of experience. Both side's fan bases will talk about how great this returning starter is and so on, so we can throw that out of the conversation. Let's look at last year's schedules vs win/loss record...

Auror's 3 losses all came from teams with a winning record, Brecksville, Coply, and New Philly. All of Auror's wins came from sub .500 teams. Barberton also falls into this quadrant of only beating sub .500 teams, but Barbertons overall schedule was tougher. With both teams rejoining regular league play, I would give Barberton the edge in the head-to-head game, and in the league championship...

But Coply might have something to say about that!

I think Medina Highland, Kent and Tallmadge might all also be good. Cuyahoga Falls and Revere may have a tough season in the Suburban. I’m not positive but Copley may have lost a lot of Seniors from last year. After going to the State Semi Finals in 2019, Aurora was average last season and really struggled at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. If they can fix that issue the Greenmen will be tough to beat and could make another playoff run. My son is on the team and I know the expectations are high. Aurora starts with Euclid and St. V. It won’t be easy but should be a fun season with full capacity allowed in the stands.

Not so much, I've seen this junior and senior class since they were little kids and if they stay healthy they are going to be hard for anyone in the Suburban League to handle. I think they are 2 touchdown favorites against both Barberton and Aurora. I'm not even a Highland supporter but I can tell you without a doubt that they will be very good this fall.

I guess we are gonna find out

So the league is no longer large and small divisions? Why is the Falls moving down while smaller schools stay in the National side?

American and National. Instead of school size, I believe they look at the competition level. Barberton didn't fair so well vs National last year, I think they wanted to move Barberton to the National.

School size is still generally the difference. All of the D3 schools in the Suburban are in the American Conference. Aurora, Talmadge, Copley, Revere. Many years Aurora, Highland and Barberton would be highly competitive in the National.

Aurora ranked 4th in Cleveland.com State poll. I guess we will find out early if that is deserved. Open up hosting Euclid and then travel to St. V week 2.

Any word from Revere. Offense? Defense? Returners. They were solid last year.
Heard new offensive coordinator Gordon White is make you guys a wing tee offense. Says fits the skill set. He was articulating this Friday at Hunky Club.
