Not me that's for sure. Both have similar styles of play (lots of swarming to the puck). I give the advantage to Coffman because of stellar defense and ability to break plays on offense enough to win.

You have got to be kidding right? Centerville is probably the most passive teams on both sides of the ice, its almost like they play a penalty kill the whole game

Coffman wins this one big, 6-0, and the Hockey Holligans will let the Elks go home in complete shame

They tied 1-1 earlier this season, 6-0?

Yes, and I can honestly say that with ease seeing that Coffman has gotten better over the year especially in the past two weeks with hot goaltending from Rogers and Ridgeway playing as good as he has. But I see Centerville as the same team they were when these teams met when they played the first time. You also have to put into consideration that DC has the home ice, they will have a larger and louder crowd and they will know the refs. I don't see why you would even question me. Plus the GWOK sucks, it sounds like a soulja boy song

Know the reffs? Not all the reffs are Columbus guys...Barry Conway from Dayton who had a kid on Centerville a few years ago does many of the more important district games in Columbus, along with many other Cincy/Dayton Reffs.

Just to recap the Elite 8...

District Finals:
Brooklyn: St. Edward vs St. Ignatius - Saturday, 6PM
Kent: University School vs Lake Catholic - Friday, 7:30PM
Sylvania: St. John's Jesuit vs Sylvania Northview - Saturday, 7PM
Columbus: Dublin Coffman vs Centerville - Saturday, 5PM

O_o

None of the Dayton teams are in the GWOC. We are all in SWOSHL.

Centerville won. 5-3

I have pictures that I took from the game. I'll upload them and edit my post later tonight.

Good call on the game, Centerville's going all the way.

5 goals for a team on the PK all game isn't so bad. Especially against a team who hadn't been scored on in playoff time yet.

Oh.

Add a smilie face so I know.

Does anyone know how big the crowd will be for the Eds and US game?

Also, if I were to go to both games? Would I have to pay the entrance fee twice?
:wallbang:

Here's the pics I took. The sections up top were so crowded that I had to stand behind the glass. I am an extremely amateur photographer. I had to take the pics for a digital media arts class.

I don't think most people realize how recent it has been that anyone besides Upper Arlington has had a real high school hockey program in the Columbus area. Virtually no one else did until Columbus got the Blue Jackets. That's how new high school hockey really is in Columbus.

I'm not that old, and UA was the only school that had a team when I graduated from high school.

It's only a matter of time before the Columbus starts taking home hockey championships. Lots of affluent, thriving suburbs, and the BlueJackets being the lone Pro team in town. Give it 5-10 more years.

From past experience, there will not be more than 2,000 at the US-Eds hockey game in Columbus. I'd guess more like 1,000

Centerville is the only team not in Northern Ohio to win the title (in 1979). 30 years later, i don't see Centerville getting it done this year.

Titles:

Northeast Ohio: 21 (11 St Eds, 3 Shaker Hts, 3 Padua, 1 St Iggy, 1 University School, 1 Cleveland Hts, 1 Kent Roosevelt)

Northwest Ohio: 9 (6 BG, 2 Findlay, 1 SJJ)

Southwest Ohio: 1 (Centerville)

that "same team" beat moeller pretty easily from what i hear, and that "same team" is in the final four. also, that "same team" seems to have better coaching, and knows how to play playoff hockey

That "same team" did not beat Moeller easily, all Moeller had to do was stick someone on Breslin and they would have got the victory and i ticket to the Final Four

I tend to agree with this line of thinking, though as long as the privates continue to dominate Cleveland hockey and bring in the area's best players, I have a hard time seeing teams from any other part of the state consistently beating Cleveland's best. Upper Arlington, one of Columbus' most affluent suburbs, has had a team for at least 15-20 years. They've had some good teams, but nothing that has been on par with the best teams in the north. If Columbus wants to really compete on Cleveland's level, the city needs to continue expanding and growing its youth hockey and perhaps build a few more ice rinks. Toledo is about half Columbus' size, but the Glass City's youth hockey scene makes Cowtown's look like amateur hour.

Yes - The Cincinnati ref changed the outcome of the Coffman - Centerville game. Game was going Coffman's way 3-1 when he called two penalties within 20 sec. Centerville scored on the 5 on 3 and again 5 on 4

Actually Centerville scored 4 Power Play goals
