Been saying it for a long time and have been blasted without any regard by all of you on here sans 2-3 posters but the guy LACKS ATTENTION TO DETAIL in the BIGGEST games in the BIGGEST moments.

He cannot win these games for a reason. Whatever can go wrong WILL go wrong by this program in these games.

The false starts, lack of tackling, lack of down field passing, special teams disasters, lack of clock management. The guy just has NO CLUE and was hired without a LEGIT coaching search by an affirmative action worst AD in OSU history Gene Smith.

I continue to say it, FIRE this guy after the season and go get a legit HC that has had success at a high level. Not a no name OC without any HC experience

The offensive pass interference was .......you can not have offensive pass interference in the 1st 5 yards.

It was an iffy call but I do not know the rule honestly. Problem is for OSU to be in this position having as many mistakes as they did…..they did not deserve any benefit of the doubt

The defensive player came up and was man handled and osu got penalized. Field goal range... kick it ....good.... osu wins.

Year 6. Starting to think he’s never going to figure out some of the “details” that matter in the big games, and it’s a good example for why hiring HCs with proven track records matters.

Losing a close game on the road to a top-5 opponent in a vacuum isn’t the end of the world, but it’s concerning when the why’s for losing seem to consistently repeat themselves in these types of games.

I’m still waiting for all of the trolls to invade this thread. Shows how soft they are/ don’t know jack about football.

Thanks to the affirmative action AD Gene Smith. A competent AD doesn’t hire Ryan.

The Buckeyes could very well run the table and win the natty, and I hope they do, but just as an exercise let’s say they lose to Penn State and another regular season game and miss the playoffs with this roster that was purchased for Day to win it all and justify his hiring and he is “invited” to pursue an NFL job. Who do you replace him with?

That's why they brought it Kelly...to replace Day when he fails.

Seriously Sparty, you just don't get it. True Ohio State fans support Ohio State no matter what. A true fan doesn't wish for and take joy in OSU shortcomings and hope they fail. We as fans cannot control who coaches and who recruits the team. We as fans can not control the results on the field. We don't want nor do we enjoy what shortcomings the team has. I will never take joy in seeing OSU lose and underperform to their capabilities. I will continue to hope that they will learn from this game and improve for the next game. Hope this is just another Virginia Tech wake up call. Go Bucks.

Replace Day with an 81 - 41 college coach? No thanks.
Was that satire?
Kelly was brought in to save Day from himself. If he can’t do it, they both are gone. And let’s not forget Bill O’Brien was brought in to save Day before he bolted for the BC HC job.

But I don’t think Day or Kelly are the problem.
Knowles’ scheme is the problem.
Too many big plays given up on D. Not enough pressure on the qb.

Who hired Knowles?
I don’t think it was a bad hire. This is what it was based on.

Knowles had been the defensive coordinator at Oklahoma State, where his defense ranked No. 3 in total yards per game. A finalist for the Broyles Award, which annually goes to college football's top assistant coach, Knowles had an excellent defensive unit this season, ranking first in sacks (54), fourth in yards allowed per play (4.34), fifth in rush yards allowed per game (89.2) and 10th in pass yards allowed per game (184.4).

Has that level of D been seen? Certainly not in the big games. The question is, should he keep his job?

Where on earth could you ever deduce that I wanted OSU to lose this game and hope that they fail? Just because I point out that Ryan Day sucks and that they will fail doesn’t mean it’s what I want.

People like you seem to confuse things like this. When I point things out that nobody else either doesn’t have the balls to say or don’t know the game well enough to notice.

That doesn’t make me any less of a fan, if anything it makes me a much greater fan to observe the game in great detail and look at where they could have problems hoping the coaching staff sees them as well so they aren’t problems down the line.

Ryan Day is simply incapable of doing that, he’s a holdover and hire from an affirmative action AD and joined the program when Urban was really struggling as a coach. He doesn’t know what it’s like to win the big games at OSU.

They needed to go outside of the program and completely start over.

Here you are after an OSU loss crowing because they lost. You are happy because you can say I told you so about Day and Knowles. Ok, we get it. You want so bad to be able to say you are right for once and are thrilled the Buckeyes lost.
The Buckeyes are who they are and they have what they have. As a fan I can only hope that they put things together and win every game from here on out. Regardless as how they do I will still be rooting for them every game they play. You can't say that. Your actions speak for themselves.

The question is, why has that level of defense not been seen, particularly in the biggest games?

Here’s the thing, I’m like this when OSU wins too. I’m pretty consistent in my messaging and up until two weeks ago you would throw personal attacks at me for such insight. You wouldn’t know this though because you only look at things at the surface level.

Still know you are a pretend OSU fan who sucks up to Michigan fans on your phony OSU podcast. I haven't changed at all. You are a constant whiner and I throw personal attacks at you because you claim to be an OSU but your posts say otherwise. Reading your posts is like listening to a broken record.

lmfao, exposed right there. Keyboard warrior. We all know just like you and your cedar point friend would never say these things to my face.

Also you just admitted that I am consistent in wins and losses. So in other words your initial post has 0 grounds to stand on. Talk about having little brain power….
